Why are there over 30 different Arabic Qur’ans? - Quranic Corrections Ep. 3

  • When Muslims hear anything about Qur’anic variants, they assume these
variants are what is commonly known as ‘Ahruf’, or ‘Qira’at’, which are
nothing more than dialectic differences that have to do with the way
someone reads the text orally. According to tradition Muhammad permitted
7 different Qira’at, or readings while he was alive. These 7 ‘readings’
were then canonized 300 years later by a scholar named Abu Bakr Ibn
Mujahid, who died in the 10th century.
The confusion stems from a one-line reference written by Al Bukhari in
870 AD for the need to write the 652 Uthmanic Qur’an in the ‘Quraishi’
dialect; in other words, to write this Uthmanic text so that those who
speak the Quraishi dialect could read it correctly.
The problem is that no one could have read such a text that early (652
AD), because in order to read dialectical differences in Arabic, one
needs to have diacritical marks (dots above and below the line), and
vowels (which include the Dhamah = the oo sound, the Fatah = the ah
sound, and the Kasrah = the ii sound); but diacritical marks and vowels
had not yet been invented in Arabic. They would not be introduced for
another century or more. So, how could Zaid ibn Thabit have written
Uthman’s Qur’an in the dialect of the Quraish that early?
All he could use was the consonantal script (known as Rasm), made up of
17 - 28 consonantal letters (known as Harf) available to him. Those who
then attempted to read those words would add their own vowels (depending
on which dialect they were reading it aloud in) and try to guess which
of the 17 - 28 letters they were reading, by using the context.
The consonantal letters he used, however, would remain constant,
regardless of whom was reading the text, and regardless of which dialect
    they were reading it in.
To explain this, Al Fadi and Jay looked at a number of the earliest
Sunni and Shi’ite manuscripts to prove that none of these earliest
manuscripts (the Samarkand, Sana’a, Topkapi, and Ali manuscripts) have
any diacritical marks (dots). Nor do they have any vowels. They are all
written only using the Rasm, or the basic consonantal script.
They then show how one can create up to five letters using just one
consonantal letter by simply adding dots above and below that letter,
and if one had three of those letters in a row, one could create up to
30 different words, again by adding the dots. This proves just how
inexact the Arabic script was back in the mid-7th century, and why
diacritical marks needed to be created and then used in the manuscripts
    which followed.
But in these earliest manuscripts which were created during the 8th
century and later, there simply was no means of writing any dialectical
differences. Therefore, the argument of different Ahruf or different
Qira’at (i.e. different readings or different dialects) make no sense
this early, since there were no dottings, nor any vowels to see those
differences within a consonantal scripted text.
Jay and Al Fadi then introduced 26 different Qur’ans (out of a total of
    31) which Hatun Tash was able to buy in market places situated in
Jordan, Morocco, and Yemen, each of which was created by a student
living in the cities of Mecca, Medina, Damascus, Kufa and Basra between
the 8th - 10th centuries. It is from these 26 to possibly 37 different
students that we get the differing Qira’at schools which are popular
today. When observing just the 26 Qur’ans they displayed, Hatun and her
team in London have already found almost 60,000 differences between them
(Note: Since this recording, the number has increased to 93,000
    differences).
The Qur’an we are using today around the world was created by one
student living in the city of Kufa who died in 796 AD, which is 144
    years after Muhammad.
It is surrounding these differing Qira’at Qur’ans that Muslims today
think the discussion concerning the changed Qur’ans lies. They couldn’t
be further from the truth. These diacritical differences, coupled with
the vowellization, were all created centuries later.
Thus, it is not these later Qira’at differences which we are talking
about at all, but the much earlier and more damaging consonantal
scripted differences. That is the focus of our discussion here.
Therefore, when Uthman (if that story is even true) decided to burn the
Qur’anic manuscripts which disagreed with his canonized Qur’an in 652
AD, he wasn’t burning them because of different Qira’at or Ahruf
readings as Muslims today suggest. He was burning them because their
Rasms (their consonantal) letters were different from that of his own.

The verbal tradition of the quran should mitigate these differences right? And contextually certain words just make sense right? In addition to this the 1924 eqyptian version is used today which directly correlates its writing with the dialect of the prophet. Naturally it is impossible to prevent different dialects to write their version of the quran down but the Prophet's dialect is preserved and I see all of this as a stretch.

I do not understand what you mean by this phrase "written in the heaven" and if the holy Quran is written in the heaven then it is written in a form understood by angels and nobody can claim that angels use the Arabic language because the hadiths claiming the Arabic is the language of paradise are weak hadiths.
But I know that the Quran was revealed to Muhammad then he recited it in many dialects. When delegates of Arabs visited Al-Medina from different regions, the prophet used to recite the holy Quran in the dialect of the visiting delegates. But the main dialect in Arabic is the dialect of Quraysh of Mecca. Written Arabic is common and it is only in Fusha or formal Arabic which is the standard Arabic for all Arabs today. When an Arab uses Fusha (the formal Arabic) he should forget about his own dialect and concentrate on using only the formal Arabic.

Always ignorant people try to attack Islam out of their ignorance
The holy Quran was sent as a linguistic miracle to Arabs because they used to pay a lot of attention to the Arabic language. They were shocked with the eloquence and the beauty of its verses. The Arabs who lived in the time of Muhammad where the masters of Arabic language and they were unable to challenge the verses of Quran. God challenged them many times in the Quran to produce something similar but they failed.
Arabs today do not understand the Arabic language of the Holy quran. They need to use other books to explain the meanings of its verses.
Arabs (during Omayyad and Abbasid eras) derived the rules of Arabic language (syntax and semantics) from the holy quran....According to the masters of Arabic grammar, any grammatical aspects included in the Quran are considered the grammatical rules of Arabic. Thus any person who claims that there are grammatical mistakes in the holy quran is simply ignorant.

I do not believe that the prophet Muhammad married a child. It is ignorant who considers any hadith 100% correct. Only the holy quran is 100% correct . The credibility of books of hadiths vary...for example Sahih Al-Bukhari might be 90 to 95% authentic. Sahih Muslim might be 85 to 90% authentic...some books of hadiths might be 60 to 65% Authentic only.
By the way, I do not believe that Khadija (the prophet's first wife) was 40 years old when she married the prophet. I believe she was like 30 or 31 years old since she got many children afterwards.

Supposedly 30, 37!! 500!! Differents Qurans, and they haven't showed any of them.
For non arabic speakers you may be overwhelmed unknown sounds and words they're talking about, and you add to that you are unfamiliar with the subject, but if you were to know arabic and the difference scripts and you study the subject you'll know that there is just one Quran.
I'll use Jay's potato example We all know in English the sound "POTATO" means the roundy vegetable thingy that we commonly write "potato" know get someone who different people with different writing skills and from different areas and ask them to write the sound "potato" these will be some of the probabilities:
      Potato
      Potatou
      Poutato
      Poutatou
      Potatu
      Putato
      Putatu
but if you ask all of them to point at the roundy vegetable thing they all gonna point at "potato"
Example in the uk in England a "Mouse" is pronounced "Mawss" but if you go up to Scotland and speak to a Scot person they will pronounce it "Moss".
The same animal pronounced differently and if you were to script it, in the case of you script it differently depending on your knowledge of the language and the script. the subject matter goes back to the 7th century, and the Arabic scripts have come a long way since then. hence the undotted "unvowelled / Shakl" early manuscript they showed.
Conclusion: the Quran was initially delivered in an vocal way and the people recorded it according to their respectual level of using the scripts, and some of them were even including their own understanding along the Quranic text. and they even recycled the scarce material on which they wrote the Quran, which is known today as different layers/level and this is an ancient practice well documented by Manuscript scholars.

Hebrew not written with vowels which is why no one knows how to pronounce the name of God quoted to Moses. Is it Yahweh or Jehovah or something else?

    • @123dsj123
      @123dsj123 Před 5 lety +2

You are right. The original Hebrew letters do not have vowels; thus, making it impossible for us to correctly pronounce God’s Name: YHWH. However, it is pronounced “YAHWEH” or JEHOVAH” depending on the vowels one decides to use to help in pronouncing it. But the pronunciation is not important, because there is a commandment against pronouncing God’s Name. Exodus 20:7 reads, “Thou shall not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.”
Interestingly, when the Bible translators translated the Bible from its three original languages (Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic) to other languages, they used the word “LORD” which they spelled in capital letters to replace “YHWH”. In other words, “YHWH” = “LORD”. Example: Genesis 4:9 is translated this way: And the LORD said unto Cain, “Where is Abel, thy brother?”
Some Hebrew scholars have determined that the Hebrew letters for “YHWH” are the same letters used to describe “Hands and Nails”. That is remarkable.

    Theres a few issues here:
    1. The Uthman Codex is the verified, cross checked and referenced Quran by the top Quran memorisers of the time. This text exists today (Samarkand Kufic Quran) and can be checked against the Hafs Quran we have today.
    2. The so called different Qurans of today are all produced after the Uthmanic Codex and are accepted by the Ummah according to the laws of Ahruf and Qiraat. If anybody does not accept these texts they can always refer back to the Uthmanic text.
    3. So called scriptural variants were personal records of individuals in the early days of Islam that may have scribal errors, yet when checked against other variants its obvious where scribal errors occurred - these errors are not so big as christians like Brubaker make out and its a miracle in itself how accurate these individual records are. There would be the odd vowel or word out of place at worst on a single page. Even then the whole collection of the ‘variant’ manuscripts can show up where the writer of a variant may have made minor mistakes. Again the authoritative version is the Uthmanic Codex NOT the ‘variant’ writings.
    3. The ‘skeleton’ if the text of the Quran is complete, where scholars have debated is to the placement of grammatical and pronunciation of words. For example Maliki vs Maaaaliki
    4. The Prophet saws in a hadith addressed the issue of dialectic variations and allowed such variations. But again if christians want to assert muslims have many ‘versions’ of the Quran and want to ignore the rules of ahruf and qiraat or that individual variant manuscripts have minor errors then they can always refer back to the Uthmanic Codex compiled only 14yrs after the death of the Prophet saws and by the companions of the Prophet saws who were present during his lifetime.
    5. Challenge any christian to sit down with you and use the Uthmanic Quran, ALL the variant manuscripts and follow word for word the Quran we have today. Ask them to brush up on their arabic.
    6. The christians are trying to say that even if the Quran is 99.9999% correct it cannot be the preserved Quran if it is not 100% correct. You will understand how absurd these people are and how desperate they are to find a 0.0001% inaccuracy. Its a desperation that comes about when you know your own scripture can barely hold itself together.

The confusion stems from a one-line reference written
    by Al Bukhari in
870 AD for the need to write the 652 Uthmanic Qur'an
    in the 'Quraishi
dialect; in other words, to write this Uthmanic text so
    that those who
speak the Quraishi dialect could read it correctly.
The problem is that no one could have read such a
    text that early (652
AD), because in order to read dialectical differences in
    Arabic, one
needs to have diacritical marks (dots above and below
    the line), and
Vowels (which include the Dhamah = the oo sound, the
    Fatah = the ah
sound, and the Kasrah = the ii sound); but diacritical
    marks and vowels
had not yet been invented in Arabic. They would not
    be introduced for
another century or more. So, how could Zaid ibn Thabit
    have written
Uthman's Qur'an in the dialect of the Quraish that
    early?

Jay Smith already knew some of the basic in reading the Quran and the chronicles of Quran until became in a book form why make it complicated ???
Nothing has been changed on the text only that the vowels has been added to assist the readers to read the Quran in a correct manner & disciplines..
All the Qiraat, the hafs the rasm is only a technical & guidence for the readers..
The main thing is the Holy Quran has been preserved since it has been reveal to Prophet Muhammad SAW till the modern world today as ALLAH has mentioned ' We revealed the Quran & we'll protect it '

Diacritical marks and vowels have been added, and that is an important, very important modification. Moreover, the most popular Quran of today, Hafs Quran, is practically a compilation after a recitation ( made in 1924 AD) and it has no any manuscript at its base.
And oral tradition is the most less reliable way of transmitting a text over generations and generations,

If majority of arabs can't even read the quran then how do they know even know which is the correct Quran? That's the very problem with the Quran. Jay Smith and Al Fadi are just clarifying it.
But if the quran was really preserved by verbal alone then why need a book? Kinda proves the point from the hadiths where it says"It is reported from Ismail ibn Ibrahim from Ayyub from Naafi from Ibn Umar who said: “Let none of you say ‘I have acquired the whole of the Qur’an’. How does he know what all of it is when much of the Qur’an has disappeared? Rather let him say ‘I have acquired what has survived.'” (as-Suyuti, Al-Itqan fii Ulum al-Qur’an, p.524).

Tuahtfawna, if the multiple gods of islam said THEY would "protect it," then why did Caliph Uthman have to destroy multiple differeng versions of the quran before creating his own version ?
Who gave Uthman the authority to determine the contents of the quran and whiich dialect of Arabic it would be in? After all, muhammed claimed the quran was reavealed in 7 different ahruf (dialects) and claimed ALL of them were correct.(Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 3, Book 041, Number 601)
Also, if the quran is "protected," why are many revelations missing? The hadith mention several "revelations" that are no longer contained the quran, such as Muhammed's Satanic verses, stoning for adultery, and this one about BREASTFEEDING : "A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that it had been revealed in the Qur'an that ten clear sucklings make the marriage unlawful, then it was abrogated by five sucklings and Allah's Apostle (saw) died and before that time it was found in the Qur'an. (Sahih Muslim, Vol. 2, p.740).
It is clearly stated that the Qur'an had originally contained a verse prescribing a prohibition on the marriage of two people who had been breastfed by the same woman at least ten times. This verse was then abrogated and another was substituted for it, restricting the number to five. Where is this verse in the Qur'an? It too is missing - has it also been abrogated? If so, what came in its place?

To understand the origins of the Quran, we must consider the Arab society of the time. The Arabs communicated vocally and as most were illiterate, the Quran was not compiled into a collection during the life of the Prophet (P.B.U.H.). Instead, the verses were documented on parchment, leather, bone and other materials. The Quran was revealed to the Prophet (P.B.U.H.) in seven different styles and each of these styles were recited by the companions until the Prophet (P.B.U.H.) had approved of their recitation. Each of the styles, albeit their differences, had the same meaning.
After the death of the Prophet (P.B.U.H.), it was decided by Abubakar, the father-in-law of the Prophet (P.B.U.H.), that the Quran be compiled into a collection after a great number of Muslims, who had memorised the entire Quran, had been killed in the battle Yammama. In order to verify its authenticity, the verses had to be corroborated by 12 of those who had memorised the entire Quran in the presence of 2 witnesses, before being added to the collection.
At this time, the Quran did not have any vowels or markings because the people who possessed these Qurans were native Arabs who already knew the verses of the Quran and could recite easily without difficulty. However, when Islam spread into other regions, there was confusion as people did not understand how to read the Quran and the fact that there were seven different styles only created more confusion. To resolve this issue, Uthman decided that only one copy should be distributed and favoured the script of the Quraysh dialect as it was the tribe that the Prophet (P.B.U.H.) was originally from. The other copies were destroyed and the Mushaf was distributed as the standard script. This lead to the emergence of the standard script of the Quran known as the 'Mushaf'. To further ensure that the integrity of the Quran was preserved, Uthman established schools to ensure the correct recitation and writing of the Quran. This eliminated the possibility of incorrect recitation or copies of the Quran and those that had graduated from these schools were able to teach the Quran to others.
It was only later, during the caliphate of Ali, where the diacritical marks where introduced to ensure that those who were unable to attend the recitation schools, established by Uthman, would be able to recite the Quran on their own.
Allah promises the preservation of the Quran in Surat Al-Hijr: "Indeed, it is We who sent down the Quran and indeed, We will be it's guardian." (15:9). The Quran has been preserved and the meaning of the verses of the Quran have stood against the challenge of time. Even if you choose to ignore all the above points and insist that the minor differences are significant, ask yourself if any other text can be produced to the accuracy of the modern day Quran and the manuscripts of old.
The reason most people keep the Mushaf as the standard script of the Quran and the reason that so many educated atheists convert to Islam is due to the mathematical miracle of the Mushaf which has confirmed to Muslims that it is the word of Allah.
To conclude, Jeffrey Lang, a mathematician and revert to Islam, concluded this argument beautifully saying that
“so far the manuscripts show some unconventional verse orderings, minor textual variations, and rare styles of orthography and artistic embellishment. However, the past existence of such manuscripts is well known to Muslims and those that did not completely agree with the Uthmanic text were eliminated in various ways. The recovery of an ancient manuscript dating back to the earliest history of Islam that differs in minor ways from the Uthmanic text and that was eliminated from circulation will hardly cause Muslims to feel the need to rewrite their history; if anything, it will only confirm it for them.” and so you should understand that practising Muslims do know of the existence of these manuscripts but referring to the reasons stated above, we will be unwavering in our belief that the Mushaf is the word of Allah.
I welcome any arguments that you may present so that I may understand your thought process and I only ask that you keep the discussion civil unlike some that I have had in the past.

Why didn't the "angel" just give the tablet to a literate person instead of repeatedly terrorizing muhammed? Yahweh God managed that with Moses, but allah couldn't figure that out with muhammed for some reason.

@@abu5197 Abu, It's amazing how often muslims try the "weak hadith" ploy. The hadith are the most damning evidence against muhammed's behavior and teachings, aren't they? Yet, since the quran puts obedience to muhammed at the same level as obedience to islam's "god," muslims can't avoid the hadith.
Who gave Uthman the authority to rewrite the quran 18 years after the death of muhammed? (All those varying versions of the quran existed just 18 yrs. after muhammed's death - yet you claim it was an "ORAL SOCIETY" ??)
And who gave Uthman authority to DESTROY thousands of qurans - yet the muslim population goes out of its collective mind today if ONE quran is burned?
When Ibn Umar-son of the second Muslim caliph-heard people declaring that they knew the entire Qur’an, he said to them: “Let none of you say, ‘I have learned the whole of the Koran,’ for how does he know what the whole of it is, when much of it has disappeared? Let him rather say, ‘I have learned what is extant thereof’” (Abu Ubaid, Kitab Fada’il-al-Qur’an).
One of Muhammad’s companions, Abu Musa, supported this claim when he said that the early Muslims forgot two surahs due to laziness:
Sahih Muslim 2286-Abu Musa al-Ash’ari sent for the reciters of Basra. They came to him and they were three hundred in number. They recited the Qur’an and he said: You are the best among the inhabitants of Basra, for you are the reciters among them. So continue to recite it. (But bear in mind) that your reciting for a long time may not harden your hearts as were hardened the hearts of those before you. We used to recite a surah which resembled in length and severity to (Surah) Bara’at. I have, however, forgotten it with the exception of this which I remember out of it: “If there were two valleys full of riches, for the son of Adam, he would long for a third valley, and nothing would fill the stomach of the son of Adam but dust.” And we used to recite a surah which resembled one of the surahs of Musabbihat, and I have forgotten it . . .
This shows that entire chapters of the Qur’an were forgotten and are missing from the 30 Arabic qurans in use today. So much for being "perfectly preserved," right?

It is as if you are reading from a script, if all of the printed Qurans were destroyed it would not be long before you would be back to the point before the Uthmanic recension, people reciting different things and fighting each other over it, sooner or later Muslims will have to face the fact that the Quran has not been perfectly preserved.

      10. Jesus and other prophets of the Bible fasting up to 40 days (see Exodus 34:28, Daniel 10:2-6, Kings 19:8, and Matthew 4:1- Muslims do so also during the month of Ramadan. Muslims are required to fast the full obligatory 30 days (see Qur’an 2:183), and others take it a step further by fasting an additional 6 days to increase their rewards.
      11. Jesus taught to say “Peace to this house” when entering it (see Luke 10:5), and to also greet the people in the house with “peace be unto you”. Muslims do exactly what Jesus did and taught. When we enter our homes and the homes of others we say “Bismillah” and also greet with "as salaamu alaikum” (peace be upon you) as taught in the Qur’an verse 24:61.
      12. Jesus was circumcised. Circumcision is 1 of the 5 fitrah in Islam, so Muslim men are required to be circumcised. According to the Bible in Luke 2:21, Jesus was eight days old when he was circumcised. In the Torah, Allah/God stated to the Prophet Abraham that it is an “Everlasting covenant” (see Genesis 17:13). In the Qur’an verse 16:123 Muslims are required to follow the religion of Abraham. The Prophet Muhammad said, “The Prophet Abraham circumcised himself when he was eighty years old.”
      13. Jesus spoke aramaic and called God ”Elah”, which is pronounced the same as “Allah”. Aramaic is an ancient, Biblical language. It is one of the Semitic languages that also include Hebrew, Arabic, Ethiopic and the ancient Assyrian and Babylonian language of Akkadian.
The Aramaic ”Elah” and the Arabic “Allah” are the same.
The Aramaic “Elah” is derived from the Arabic “Allah”, and it means “GOD”. “Allah” in Arabic also means ”GOD”, the Supreme GOD Almighty. You can easily see the similarity in their pronunciation so this concludes that the God of Jesus is also the God of the Muslims, of all mankind, and all that exist.

      Surah Al-Hijr, Verse 9:
      إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ
Surely We have revealed the Reminder (Quraan) and We will most surely be its guardian.
      via iQuran
The entire Quran was memorized verbatim (word for word) by many of the Prophet’s Companions (males and females). Among them were Zaid ibn Thabit, Ubayy ibn Ka’b, Muadh ibn Jabal, and Abu Zaid.
Abu Bakr decided to appoint Zaid ibn Thabit to compile all of the written verses of the Qur’an into one collection, using only those verses which had been written in the presence of the Prophet ﷺ himself. These manuscripts would then be verified by those who had memorised the entire Qur’an at the hands of the Prophet himself. This was where the important concept of tawatur, or multiply attested sources, came into play. In order to be 100% sure that a verse of the Quran was in fact a verse of the Quran, it needed to have multiple independent chains of transmissions from different memorisers of the Quran. In this way, any verse that came to Zaid could be corroborated through both written and oral means, essentially guaranteeing that every single verse put in the final book was conveyed by the Prophet ﷺ. Once this had been completed by Zaid, he penned the completed text which became known as the Suhuf, and gave it to Abu Bakr. This was now the official text of the Qur’an.
Narrated Ibn `Abbas: The Prophet (peace be upon him) was the most generous amongst the people, and he used to be more so in the month of Ramadan when Gabriel visited him, and Gabriel used to meet him on every night of Ramadan till the end of the month. The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to recite the Holy Qur'an to Gabriel, and when Gabriel met him, he used to be more generous than a fast wind (which causes rain and welfare).
      (Sahih al-Bukhari, Book 30, Hadith 12)
No other religious scripture was compiled with such accuracy...

Every generation memorized the Qur’an and transmitted it verbally to the other generation. From the first revelation of our Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to this day, people do not disagree about it. The Ottoman Qur’an was not the first source, they were taken from the Companions of the prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

To dismiss the actual variations in the many different variant Arabic Quran does not hold any water whatsoever. They are now at least 27 different Arabic Quran. In my part of the word, in China with a population estimated to be about one billion four hundred million people, there are at least eight major dialect groups and many sub-dialects. Some examples of major dialect groups are Cantonese, Khek, Hakka, Min (Hokkien), Xiang .... and they sound completely different like totally different languages. Then, there are the enormous variety of sub-dialects within the major dialect groups that sound quite similar but are still very distinct and different. Yet the written text in standardized Chinese pictogram characters for millennia are the same and do not have any confusing variants or variations (at most only very minor). A written or printed book in Chinese can be read and understood by virtually everyone across China. The actual problem is the variants in the underlying Arabic text, whether in raw consonant form or with the diacritical dots and vowel marks ... which can change the tense, the case (plural or singular) and even the meaning. There are not merely a few hundred but thousands of variants and more are being discovered and documented as time goes by. If the Quran is really God's own word as claimed, it must be held to a very high standard ... and can withstand honest scrutiny ... not simply dismissed offhand angrily.

Here the question. Doesn Bukari note that when Uthman had the Quran retranslated into Arabic he stated that if the translators disagree on a word or anything regarding the Quran to translated it in the Qureshi dialect? I have been looking for the orignal Quran that was revealed by muhammad. What bothered me was that Muhammad did not speak Arabic. He spoke in the language of the Nabatean Christians which was ARamaic . So they retranslated the Quran from its original Aramaic language into the Arabic language. The point? Since the Quran could be recited 7 different ways per reciter and he said this to his companion when he was alive and he spoke Aramaic, what was the 7 dialects of Aramaic and which one did they choose to translate from. Aramaic is not Arabic, it is not even modern Arablic. When a Muslim tells me that the Quran was revealed in Arabic I quickly correct them and say that Muhammad never spoke a word of Arabic. What you have is someone's translation of an Aramaic Quran. There is no record of the Aramaic Qurans because Uthman had them confiscated and destroyed, in the name of preserving the unity of the Umma. In reality He highjacked the Quran and spread his Quran all over the Islamic empire. When Uthman was assassinated? His Quran was destroyed and all copies of it. So we don't even have one complete Uthmanic Quran. So how do they know what they are reciting is what Muhammed really say? There is no way of them knowing. All they can fall on is the chain of narrators . But that is not even reliable because no chain of narration can be reliabily traced to Muhammed. .

In Morocco, the reading is that of Nafi` in the transmission of Warsh (d. 197/812) and the Moroccan Qurans are written accordingly. In Sudan, Nigeria and Central Africa, the prevailing reading is that of Abu `Amr in the version of al-Duri. The transmissions of Hafs, Warsh, Qalun and Al-Duri are still in print today.
      • There are 7 Hafs - which one?
1936 - The government of Egypt realized how efficient the Cairene model was and decided to make Hafs standard for all Qur’ans in Egyptian schools
This was known as the ‘Faruq Edition’, named after King Faruq, who came to power that year.
1985 - The government of Saudi Arabia realized how efficient the Egyptian model was and decided to make Hafs standard for all Qur’ans worldwide
This was known as the ‘Fahd Edition’, named after King Fahd, who came to power in 1982. Both are man’s expediency.

FABRICATIONS by Muhammad -We wonder what other fabrications are not taken out??? And what other Satanic verses???
Eager to be accepted as a prophet in his native Mecca, Muhammad initially conceded that Allah approved of Al-Lat, Al-Uzza and Al-Manat. But unable to reconcile three extra goddesses with his declared monotheism, Muhammad later reversed himself, confessing, "I have fabricated things against Allah and have imputed to him words which he has not spoken." (Al Tabari, The History of Al-Tabari, vol. 6, p.111) and said he had mistaken the words of "Satan" (Ibn Ishaq, Sirat Rasul Allah, pp.165-166) as Allah's. www.billionbibles.org/sharia/muhammad-false-prophet.html
Man’s word became Word of Allah
Sahih Bukhari 6:60:313 Narrated Umar: I said, "O Allah's Apostle! Good and bad persons enter upon you, so I suggest that you order the mothers of the Believers (i.e. your wives) to observe veils."
Then Allah revealed the Verses of Al-Hijab.
Missing Koran - what else did the goat eat?
[Narrated 'Aisha] "The verse of the stoning and of suckling an adult ten times were revealed, and they were (written) on a paper and kept under my bed. When the messenger of Allah expired and we were preoccupied with his death, a goat entered and ate away the paper."
      Musnad Ahmad bin Hanbal. vol. 6. p. 269; Sunan Ibn Majah, p. 626; Ibn Qutaybah, Tawil Mukhtalafi 'l-Hadith (Cairo: Maktaba al-Kulliyat al-Azhariyya. 1966) p. 310; As-Suyuti, ad-Durru 'l-Manthur, vol. 2. p. 13
Prophet was bewitched - means under the control of Satan

Once the Prophet was bewitched so that he began to imagine that he had done a thing which in fact he had not done.
      Satan inputs into Koran
      S22:52 Sahih International
And We did not send before you any messenger or prophet except that when he spoke [or recited], Satan threw into it [some misunderstanding]. But Allah abolishes that which Satan throws in; then Allah makes precise His verses. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.
53 [That is] so He may make what Satan throws in a trial for those within whose hearts is disease and those hard of heart. And indeed, the wrongdoers are in extreme dissension.
      • Satan will cause problem with recitations/inputs for the Koran
      • Allah will accept them to the point of what Satan threw in
      • Allah said He will abolish them v52 but in v53 Allah will use them and throws in a trial.
      • This means they are still in the Koran.
      • But Allah never state categorically which verses are corrected
      • You will forever be in doubt.
      • v53 Allah is saying he will take what Satan threw in the mouth of Muhd as Koran!
      • Muhd himself was reciting the Koran of Satan!
      • Satan’s Koran is equivalent to Allah’s
      • Muslims must recite them to earn merits!!! Compounding the problem.

ALLAH HAS 2 RIGHT HANDS - ONLY SATAN USES LEFT HAND AND ALLAH CANNOT HAVE LEFT HAND - see below also.
49The Book of the Etiquette of Judges
It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-'As that:
The Prophet [SAW] said: "Those who are just and fair will be with Allah, Most High, on thrones of light, at the right hand of the Most Merciful, those who are just in their rulings and in their dealings with their families and those of whom they are in charge." Muhammad (one of the narrators) said in his Hadith: "And both of His hands are right hands." sunnah.com/nasai/49/1
      Reference : Sunan an-Nasa'i 5379 In-book reference : Book 49, Hadith 1 English translation : Vol. 6, Book 49, Hadith 5381
Q: I have heard a seeker of knowledge while speaking about Allah's Names and Attributes to have attributed to Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) the description of having two Hands.
He also added the description: Both Hand sides of His are right.
What is meant by this statement? Please, provide evidence.
      www.al-feqh.com/en/establishing-two-hands-for-allah
A: … For example, `Abdullah ibn `Amr ibn Al-`As (may Allah be pleased with both of them) is authentically reported to have reported the Prophet (peace be upon him) as saying: The just will be with Allah on pulpits of light on the right Hand of the Most Merciful (the Exalted and Glorified), and both His Hands are right - those who are just in their judgment and are fair with their families and those of whom they are in charge.
… Below is an explanation of the statement: Both Hand sides of His are right. It is reported by Al-Baghawy from Al-Khattaby (may Allah be merciful with both of them) that such an Attribute is included under Tawqif (a religious text and not personal opinion).
Therefore, we understand it in the literal sense without drawing any comparison stopping our minds where the Qur'an and authentically narrated Hadith stop them. Such is the belief of Ahl-ul-Sunnah wal-Jama`ah. Some scholars are of the view that "and both His Hands are right" means that they are equally meritorious even if one of them is called the left Hand as stated in the Hadith recorded on the authority of Ibn `Umar in Sahih Muslim
SATAN EATS WITH LEFT HAND SO DO NOT EAT WITH YOUR LEFT HAND - left-handed people you are in big trouble!
Sahih Muslim Book 023, Hadith Number 5007.
Jabir b. 'Abdullah reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) having said: Do not eat with your left hand, for the Satan eats with his left hand.
      ALLAH HAS A FACE

You know nothing about the quran or its compilation. You do realise that there was even a war between muslims because they had different qurans. Both sides claimed that they had the correct recitation! After Uthman was victorious he had the other sides qurans burned!!! What if that was the rel quran? What if that quran had sayings in it that was from Mohammed? Anyway.... There are over 30 Arabic qurans in use and there are thousands upon thousands of textual variants. So, you have to ask yourself this question! Is Allah so weak and powerless that he can not even keep his promise to guard the quran? Or was the author of the quran a false prophet who lied when he said that Allah will protect it? Pick your poison kid.

Adding in vowels and diacritical marks is about helping non Arabs read the Quran as they dont have the same familiarity with the language as the natives. The oldest Quran that was discovered is in a museum in Birmingham UK and it was found to be the same as the ones we have today. It is part of the faith to preserve it, muslims believe in it so why would they change it? Any changes of script to allow access for non Arabs has not altered the meaning which is what we should be concerned with. You can see this by comparing different versions of tafsir over the 1400 years we have had the Quran.
