Did Muhammad want the Hadiths to be written?
Here is a Hadith from Sahih Muslim you may ponder:
“Do not write anything from me; whoever has written anything from me other than the Qur'an, let him erase it and narrate from me, for there is nothing wrong with that.” (Narrated by Muslim, al-Zuhd wa’l-Raqaa’iq, 5326)
I would like to know how should a Muslim practice upon this verse
وَٱلسَّارِقُ وَٱلسَّارِقَةُ فَٱقْطَعُوٓا۟ أَيْدِيَهُمَا جَزَآءًۢ بِمَا كَسَبَا نَكَـٰلًۭا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌۭ
As for male and female thieves, cut off their hands for what they have done-a deterrent from Allah. And Allah is Almighty, All-Wise.

I knew one guy from Soudan who went to south Arabia for better life, once he reach there , he couldn’t work no money to eat, he slept outside with many Somalia Indian Pakistani so on.
They where broke no family not help and no money or work then he said he was to hungry that he went inside the shop steal bread and water, ate inside the shop and the owner make him arrested he went to prison like many like him there.. then at the ceremony of shaming the criminals that take place every few months after the Friday prayers, they cut their hands, today he have one hand cut but live in America today his sister help him with visa.. he is collecting disability check for American government because he can’t work and he receive refugee based of his cutting hand! He have one fake hand as substitute today!
Soudan is Muslim majority too, , he is no longer it!

If hands are chopped off, one cannot work for a living, Allah accepts your repentance
