I am so happy I'm finally able to edit this show!! It feels like it's been years in the making. I was actually expecting to edit Kanej first, then Darklina, then Helnik and THEN these two (based on my opinion of them in the books lol) but Malina really got to me. I loved their relationship and I thought the show really set them up nicely whereas in the first book I kind of always missed that development. I think I am one of the few who actually only likes Darklina in book 1 but I did enjoy their story so far too so I'm definitely still planning to edit them. I have lots of ideas for the show in general so I hope the inspiration stays so I can make them all!

It's just so sad to see fans not liking this ship just because it's "boring". Like they've always been there for each other since the beginning. Mal literally almost died how many frickin' times just to get to Alina, he's really willing to sacrifice his own life just for her. I understand their relationship is not as hot and exciting as Darklina, but I'd rather have a love like this that's so pure and true than a toxic, manipulative one.

I’ve never read the books but from what I saw in the show, the Darkling was in love with the sun summoner, not Alina. He loved the idea of being the two most powerful people. Alina only started liking him once she thought Mal didn’t care about her and she was hurt. I just don’t believe the Darkling would love her if it weren’t for her power. I found Malina’s relationship to be so much more familiar and comfortable and just much more real.

Also the love is mutual relationship and she already love Mal, she goes to him for a logical reason in that time based on pov as she thought Mal forgot about her and does not love it seems safe choice for her.

@@soleil1117 yeah watching the show first will make you like mal a lot more than if you read the books first,, and i shipped darklina for all of two seconds in the first book but i think their chemistry is good throughout the other books,, not for a ship though. very toxic/manipulative.

I just love Malina... both in the books and the show. They're young and sometimes people forget that. I don't understand how anyone can ship Alina with the Darkling. Yes, I understand people saying he felt something for her and I agree but the man is completely blinded by power. Mal is pure - especially when it comes to Aline. Loved this video!
@jolie in the beginning Mal was a bit of a playboy. She though he forgot all about her. He did sleep with Zoya and he admitted he was sorry it took him so long to notice her. Alina felt lured by ybr attention the Darkling was giving her. She spent a long time waiting for him without knowing he was trying to come back to her.

I’m usually not a fan of the whole ‘friends to lovers’ storyline but JESUS BLOODY HELL do i ship those two with every part of my body, they own my whole heart. The looks, the words they say to each other, the hand holding, EVERYTHING.
At first I kinda shipped Alina with Alexander but bruh with what happened at the end? I’ve only read SOC (and shadow and bone when i was like 10 or something so I don’t remember anything) but I just cannot understand how anyone could be on board with Alina and Alexander ship.

Mal in the book is a teenager & a human with flaws, but nothing like the Darkling who is what we would call as serial killers nowadays, his innate feeling may surface here and there, that said how can any person who wish for a non toxic relationship ship her with Darkling, it simply shows just why there are many ongoing toxic relationships in ppl lives, they thirst for toxicity and imbalance... Darkling as a stand alone character is interesting and necessary, and yes Barnes is handsome, that doesn’t excuse Darkling’s doing, I hope they don’t make him a softer villain in the coming seasons
The trilogy was told in first person narration in the books, on tv we see the real journey of each character which is refreshing

I never understood Darklina as a ship after the reveal, like, that was it for me - done, no going back (even though I was on board for a bit) and Malina really grew on me. Like, they were both idiots who couldn't communicate properly but in the end of the day they were "it" for each other, so yeah, good for them. Since the book series went downhill for me as a whole, I don't have any plans to watch the show, but I really enjoyed this video. Beautifully done and the song fits them perfectly.

Honestly I do think the show is a lot better than the books on many aspects including mal and Alina, so I can only recommend it to you :) And also, I litteraly watched it in an afternoon so it’s not that much of a commitment tbh.

Every single second of this is so perfect!! Seriously, I was emotional throughout the whole vid. 0:51 hit me so hard, with the whole build up of their hands reaching out to each other and then both of them alone in bed with "it's all that I need" 😭 And them holding hands as they reunite at 0:59 followed by him saying he'll find his way back to her was when I truly got teary eyed. Just everything with their hands in this vid was perfection!!

He mutilated her body with antlers at the end and used, controlled and abused her so don'be surprised if people point that out. That already happened on the show. You can ship and enjoy what you like but well people calling the ship abusive valid 🤷♀️

This is absolutely beautiful! The song choice fits so well and I love the parallels you used. I love your vids so to see a Malina vid made by you pop up on my feed was such a lovely surprise. I honestly love Mal and Alina so so much, both in the show and in the books (unpopular opinion i know). But it honestly warms my heart that more people are liking them now because of the show as I think their relationship is just so special. I mean with all the scenes in the show where they are reaching for each other, trying to find each other and all the hand holding scenes it's hard not to love them. Plus the fact that they are each others true north like aaahhhhh soulmates 😂

Loved that you edited them! I was always neutral about book!malina but always found the hate kinda excessive and thought that them ending up together was always going to happen from the start. Loved them on the show though and feel like the actors have such wonderful chemistry. I enjoy the Alina/Darkling dynamic both in the show and the book but purely from an adversarial stand point. Never quite understood the appeal of it as a genuine romantic relationship.

I'll be honest, I've only read the first book so far and wasn't 100% sold on Mal or Malina but BOY DID THIS SHOW SELL ME ON THEM AND MAL *HARD* MY WORD!
