I really don't all the hate they get, they're amazing, and they're story is so touching. There's no need to be brought together by some mystical force, they survived everything because they had one another and it's beautiful. I'm so glad they're happy and safe.

exactly what I was thinking, the people who wishes to see her with darkling are just simply not right in the mind, I guess that is what happen when society starting to normalize toxic relationship

As someone who hasn’t read the books (don’t attack me, I don’t read fantasy) it makes me sad to see how much people don’t like them together because what I saw in the show was the perfect match. I see a lot of people saying they are boring but I find it quite entertaining to see him fighting to find her and Alina realizing that he does care for her
just wait for the second season and see what he does to Alina as on the books. Mal on the books was awful he never cared for Alina until he saw her with the darkling. But, in the series, he became another person but still doesn't convince me.
@@ahgaseekook “he never cared for Alina until he saw her with the darkkkling” he literally did everything to get to her. His friends died on his way to trying to get to her. He was a teenager whose best friend he thought was being tortured everyday and the last time he saw her he couldn’t do anything about it. He was risking his neck for her only to find her having a pretty cozy life AND it was further amplified by the fact that the Darkling wasn’t sending Alina’s letters. So he thought she just simply forgot about him while he was risking his neck to get to her. Tell me you wouldn’t be upset???? So tell me how he didn’t care about her until he saw her with the Darkling? And he literally said in the same book (1) that he didn’t care if Alina was with the Darkling, so tell me again how he only liked her because of that? You wanna get mad at a teenager for being jealous but victimize a man who basically sold 11 yr old Genya to the Queen and enabled her rapist for years and literally didn’t care that she was being sexually abused, then sexually assaulted A 17 year old himself. Sorry if I take the annoying angsty teen any day.
@@ahgaseekook mal literally became a deserter for her.... he walked across ravka to get the stag for her because he thought the darkling was hurting her... they were literally CHILDHOOD BEST FRIENDS. Just because he didn't show romantic attraction for her form the beginning, it doesn't mean he didn't care. It's called slow burn, best friends to lover.

@@ahgaseekook well it's not like in the books the darkling is much better, if one of them is toxic is definitely him, I think that mal wasn't that good in the beginning too but he grows and becomes better and the darkling doesn't

AND also when mal was literally being held in the air by the Volcra, he was still mindful of Alina, he was looking at her and tried even harder to get out of the Volcra's grasp when he saw Alina watching

I assumed I would like darklina because that’s how I usually roll so I’m glad I hadn’t read the books prior to seeing the show, because it made me a Malina instead 😍
Honestly, I hate Mal in the books, but in the show he's so adorable ! I'm Darklina, but that Malina is the endgame doesn't bother me at all, because their relationship is so beautiful, pure, and special on the show. In the books, even being for the Darkling, who unfortunately didn't have the chance of a development towards possible redemption (which I hope will happen in the series, even if Darklina isn't the endgame), clearly the best for me would have been for her to end up alone. Otherwise, this video is probably the most beautiful on Malina !
Solely based on the series I love malina because he was just so sweet and special. I haven't read the books and I keep reading that mal is a jerk who treats alina bad and it kind of is discouraging me from trying to read the books. I hate when a hero/heroine gets walked all over and still ends up with the character who treats them like shit.
@@sheyla9706 Yes, in the show their relationship is so cute! In the books Mal is a boring character and I don't find that you can see the supposedly strong bond that unites Mal and Alina, knowing that in the book everything is from Alina's point of view. We don't see Mal going to look for the Deer and do everything to find it. He only tells it, so inevitably the impact is less ... The strength of the Grisha books are his characters, and clearly that of Mal is the lowest level of interest. Mal and Alina's first interaction in the books, they discuss and Alina almost gets run over by the Darkling's car and Mal hugs her to save her from this. They are close and Mal separates from her quite quickly, until then you say to yourself: "oh that's sweet"! Then came Zoya's car who on her way looks at Mal who has literally left the earth so beautiful the grisha was ... Then Mal's two friends arrive talking to him about the fact that he has an opportunity with a grisha and that it is it's cool, that there are plenty of dark places in the Grisha tents to sleep with Zoya ... And Alina is always there to listen to them and as a bonus Mal's friends call her the twig when they come at the beginning ... Then Mal and his friends leave without saying a word to Alina. Nothing to do with the series. The next time we see them really talking to each other is at the winter party or Mal and Alina argues because Mal sees the Darkling all over in Alina. A sort of fit of jealousy that I find inappropriate on his part ... After later when Alina fled the Darkling they meet and even kiss in the woods before falling on the deer, which I find much too hasty.
And then throughout the books we don't have the impression that Mal really understands Alina's powers. In my memories, he maintains that it would be better without, that everything was better before, etc. In short, Mal is clearly very imperfect in the books. Besides the fact that we never have his point of view, it doesn't help to appreciate it ... We only have Alina's thoughts for that ... But after that it is only my personal opignon.

As per the show, people just ship Alina & Darkling too much and here I shipped Mal with Alina from the beginning till the end. These two are my fav after Nina & Matthias 😍

I love them but thats also because I haven't read the books. To everyone saying they don't understand the hate: its because you can see the glimpses of what Mal becomes. He is controlling, but more subtly. He doesn't understand her, even if he pretends to. They're cute, but only until Alina's best fit comes along :)
