  • Rogue's Boneyard Bars are very popular, but is it something YOU should consider buying? Let's look at the Boneyard Ohio Bar I purchased, as well the pros and cons to buying a Rogue Boneyard Bar.
    Bar in video: Rogue Boneyard Ohio Bar with black zinc shaft and bright zinc sleeves. There is no link for this bar since it is currently out of stock. Keep checking Rogue's site for restocking.

    I took a risk and got the boneyard. I think it was the Ohio Bar with raw steel shaft and sleeves. When it arrived, I didn’t notice a double knurl or any imperfections in how the bar was manufactured. The machining was very good. Since it’s raw steel, it needs more maintenance and cleaning.
    However, when it arrived, it was still the prettiest barbell I’ve ever seen. The difference in quality between the boneyard and my cheap barbell was night and day. I have used it for over a year and its been great.
    It is really due for a cleaning. Especially since it is raw steel. I’m scared to clean it cause I don’t want an oily bar. Maybe one day I’ll splurge on the cerakote.

      Glad to hear your experience with the boneyard bar. I haven’t had to clean raw steel, but I’m guessing there are videos and advice. Hopefully it goes well!

      Glad you enjoyed the video. 🙂 I think most of the bars have minimal damage, so hopefully yours comes that way. Congrats on your new bar!

    I ordered a boneyard bare steel Ohio power bar from Rogue the other day. I live in the Newark area so I usually drive the 20 mile/35 minute drive to Rogue to pick up my new gear to get it sooner and avoid shipping f cost. Pickup was not an option with the boneyard bar. Regular price $290, Boneyard price $225+$25 for shipping. I can comment about the defects in my bar once I receive it if anyone is interested.
    I do need to add that the regular bare steep OPB has bare sleeves. The boneyard version I ordered has bright zinc sleeves.

    From what I have seen the price difference doesn't justify the no return policy or the lack of warranty. Pay the extra 40-60$ and get a lifetime of happiness with the bar.

    I purchased my boneyard deadlift bar about 8 months ago, i honestly couldn't find any double knurl tracks or blemishes on the sleeves. The shafts are chrome , I'm guessing I got a great bar. Plus the deadlift bar performs great. No complaints here, and appreciate the review.

    Great review! I was considering a Boneyard bar for my first Rogue bar but went with an original just because it was my first and to get a kickass end cap. I would have been disappointed if I went with a Boneyard bar that had the damage like yours. I still plan to get bars from the Boneyard in the future.

    • @rachaelsantoyofit
      @rachaelsantoyofit  Před 3 lety +1

      The original end caps definitely look really good! I wouldn’t mind another boneyard in the future, but I also purchased an original Bella bar afterwards to ensure I didn’t have damage and to have the warranty as well.

    Hi. Thanks for the review. This is good info for people that are on the fence. I bought my bare steel Boneyard deadlift bar about 2 years ago and have zero regrets. The only reviews at the time were from lifting channels that are well established on youtube and I suspect Rogue pays extra special attention when they order products. Because theirs were nearly perfect. Mine definitely wasn't as nice as the ones reviewed. There are a few scratches and some obvious double tracking in the knurling, but ultimately I really don't care because it functions just as expected.

    Great review, I also purchased your exact bar you have the bone yard 20kg , but it doesn't say Ohio bar on it like yours.so I talked to rouge and ask if it's a bella bar or Ohio and they told me it's Ohio but doesn't states its Ohio.but it's the same one you have, just confused , is your a bella bar or Ohio and how do you know.because they have a video with a bella that looks like the Ohio just like ours

    • @rachaelsantoyofit
      @rachaelsantoyofit  Před rokem

      I have both bars. The Bella is lighter and has a smaller diameter grip compared to a standard bar like the Ohio. The end caps can also be a good indicator of which bar it is, or you can look at your order invoice from Rogue.

    I ordered a boneyard bar like yours and was surprised by the amount of cosmetic damage I received on mine. There was a long mark on the knurling as if something melted it a bit. Was a bit disappointed since I thought there was going to be few visible marks based on others' reviews.

    Good info on the Boneyard version. I almost wanted to go this direction but I ended up with going with the Ohio Power bar bare steel since it was in stock. Great addition to my home gym.
