- Rusty Cooley shredding on his new Ormsby Signature Model at the Fortin Amps booth at NAMM 2019! Tone is his Ormsby RC-ONE Signature model directly into a Fortin Amps CALI model.
- Hudba
He is a longtime friend, my teacher, and colleague (we taught together for 12 years). He is a super talented player, great musician, and great guy. I'm proud to call him my friend.
Same here! One of the best players and guys ever!
@Ken S. he can be chill but he can be super intense too. More so when he was younger. He has become more chill over the years and I honestly I think it can be observed in his playing. He has become more mature and nuanced in his phrasing and a little less over the top. I really like where his playing has gone...and it keeps getting better!
He does seem like a pretty chill guy
I love his playing he is an inspiration to me....as he's also from my neck of the woods ...I couldn't ask for a more talented guitarist than rusty to represent Texas...I seen him at the dream theater concert this past April Houston...Revention center..me and my brother wanted to approach him for an autograph or pic but we got too shy lol....he's too cool of a dude😎
@Ken S. young passion can't ever really be tamed.
Let’s take a moment to appreciate he did this for 7 minutes straight, no editing bs. Sick!
And was hardly on the beat.... for 7 minutes
Tone and vibrato and phrasing is better than ever. Nice man!
Rusty Cooley is the ultimate level of shredding
Dude's got insane chops and is prolly the cleanest shredder ever
guess you never seen frank gambale, allan holdsworth or shawn lane then?
@@DonnieDaise yeah hes obviously amazing, in the same league as holdsworth and shawn lane haha
Rusty is a beast, you couldn't have found a better player to demo your amps.
His playing has only gotten better over the years. Proud to have taken lessons from him.
Hello! Could you show how he holds the pick?
Ladies and gentlemen, the Chuck Norris of guitars
Pretty much sums it up....
The AmericanFook nah thats Petrucci
I like this comparison
@@tjhooker824 tj hooker? As in... Sheriff Officer TJ Hooker?
@@speedypete07gnarly more like Jeff Loomis
That guitar is the mad notes.......and of course the Amps are sublime. Great stuff......rarely heard Rusty sound better.
Rusty just sold a bunch of Fortin amps. Sounds amazing, good job Rusty!
The background music sounds like the music from age of empires
Man, this brought memories
@@razorhoner it actually sounded like karnatic to me
It is satriani actually! Golden room iirc
Dude that literally cracked me up so hard when I read that 😂👌
Incredible playing 🤘
Thank you for making such a great video, guys! The sound quality is just superb.
My Boah humbled me every night we rehearsed for years. T'was a pleasure to jam and make brutal music with you Russ!
MR. Shreddy Krueger.
Rusty is BAD ASS, bottom line!! His accuracy is amazing!!
Absolutely love the design on that Ormsby where only the upper frets are scalloped where they really need it.
So awesome! Thanks for now sharing.
I remember seeing rusty vids back in 05 and he always looks like he's on fastforward.
He shreds like there's no tomorrow. Hail Rusty Cooley! Always awesome!😎🤘🤘🤘❤
I really dig that background track Rusty
Took a few lessons with Rusty in
+/-1985, yes he was great then! I am so happy to see the success he has achieved!
Been listening and following Rusty for so long I live in Houston every chance I get . Rusty playing is part attack and flow !!
Excellent. Nice job Rusty!
Very cool video of Rusty. I love that guy. Wish OUTWORLD still existed.
Hunter Routh I agree but with Sundown on vocals. I was actually listening to their album on Spotify just the other day
Outstanding. Glad he is still playing fast.
Love this tone!!!
I like how rusty evolved in this with background music. Actually truly amazing melodic with this
Deciding whether to head band or belly dance right now....🤔
If you're a guy.......head bang. If you're a smokin' hot chic..........belly dance..........
This man is in a class of his own. Speed reminds me of Shawn Lane.
Rich LES but cleaner
@@liamerick7262 yeah right
THIS IS AMAZING!
That reverb is on point
absolutely sick
Love him
Best background music .go Rusty go
It's Joe Satriani - The Golden Room.
Which is an Ibanez guitar through Marshall amps so I got no idea why fortin would want to use it
Rusty Rocks
Satch backing track nice👍👍
5:20 a fellow lover of Liquid Tension Experiment's "Acid Rain" solo I see ;)
For those of u who says that Rusty only shreds.
This is literally shred.
Wait. Did he actually get faster?
Simplesmente lindo de se ouvir e admirar! Ótimo solo
Digging that locking nut! I’m still stuck in old floyd rose clamp land but they tend to slip especially after a few decades, lol
Awesome
The amp sounds amazing, sound quality of this video is crazy good.
That is one thick monster pick he's using to play
Liyingbemo 2.0mm Nuclear Cheddar - Rusty Cooley Edition Swiss Picks. They’re pretty nice picks.
Someone has been listening to Shawn Lane ;)
he mentions it in one of his old videos about influences!I got his rc classic 6 for christmas!I am putting in Dimarzios in it soon!
@@bernhardtsen74 yes! And in this video you can really hear the influence! Specially late Shawn Lane improvisation with classical Indian music! Some licks here seem to be identical even! :)
Would love to play through this monster rig!
Little Steve vaish !
Batida de samba kkkkkkkk
Ótimo video!
Background music is a Indian classical music
Channeling Shawn Lane.. Awesome.
Exactly. Reminds me of that one performance Shawn did with all those guys on stage. Forget what it’s called
Shred is just like drink a water to him 🤘🏼
sounded like george lynch at the start
Sweet leads ✌️
Joe satriani song golden room backing track
The Bells of LAL ( Part Two)
Rusty rips like a monster. So fast and slick! Would love him to join Testament or Megadeth!
He turned down the megadeth gig. Mustain begged him. That was around 2014? Rusty told me all about it.
@@arlenecarman144 I believe that. Hes a Monster shredder!
@@arlenecarman144 Dang. Did he say why?
Megadeth não é seu estilo
Decent little warm up....
exellent rusty
wow
not one push on the kill switch ! Interesting playing for sure.
That Les Paul always catches my attention.
Just wait until you play an actual guitar my dude, you'll fucking nut
There's a lot of great guitar players out there but when it comes to just flat out playing Rusty's the man that's all there is to it. As soon as I can successfully rob a bank I'm getting one of those guitars.............
Do they have this guitar model in six strings? I have only seen seven string photos on the web :'l
I THINK so?
Find me the guitar tab, I'll have it nailed tomorrow :)
The only man that could place pettrucci in DT. But let’s hope it doesn’t come to that
That is probably a factual statement I never realized.
Rusty has a new Ormsby signature model?Did he have a falling out with Dean like MAB did?
No idea, but that Ormsby is nuts! Super sick guitar.
Does anybody know what kind of backing track that is or could somebody please share a link
No idea sorry!
😎🎸💪👊🤘
Anyone know where you can get this backing track?
Here you go: czcams.com/video/fFQoOHJCec4/video.html
Nice backing track too... Link please :)
I want that guitar. That's all there is to it.............
Pretty big guitar-big fretboard
Is this an Ibanez?
Is this backing track a joe satriani song?
The backing track is definitely some sort of Indian music.
I gotta get some more chops.
You and us both bro.
BUT! can he play Stairway To Heaven? he smokes!!!! very original too
Underground sound!
anyone know the backing track???
Benjii Joe Satriani - The Golden Room
I wonder if he was an athlete, I have a theory super fast guitarists have fast twitch muscles often found in athletes
dude, sick guitar center licks, bro!
Feel free to play better than Rusty Cooley, and then you might have something. :)
What mode is this?
Mixolydian
A quarter notes colic ? Imodium .
4:57 get off your phones people jeezus. Wish I could have been there.
*hugs**
Bro you're getting old become a badass for sure now.
sounded like vai at the start
Sounding Shawn Lane-esque. I like!
Strangest looking tech on the nut! What is that?
The Morris Channel Ormsby’s own design for a multi scale locking nut
Backing track sounds like Satriani's Banana Mango
Sounds a little steve vaish.
Like a fast forwarded steve vai
Shawn Lanes reincarnation ladies and gentlemen.
He doesnt sound rusty to me
Cooley,James & timmons g3 anybody? !?
colonel catastrophe James?
@@liamerick7262 yes, andy james bro
Fuck! Just... fuck!
Sounds like an indian music
Much better tone these days so many players like this have NO tone
Swiss Picks Rules.
This guy reminds me of the hound off game of thrones.
Chasin down Petrucci and Mcalpine Tasty Get Job know if you can catch up to Torsin
Tabs ?lol
whats with the damn tribal music
That sounds good?
Some chords would be nice....but hes fast...no doubt
You are like the guys who always shout "show face" to the ladies on the cam sites.
lol
@Bread& Butter lol chords help your lead, not just understanding interactions by scalar chords. Any musician would rip someone a part who didn't understand progressions have a large vocabulary of chords, inversions etc. You'd play for 4-5 min and run out of ideas. So yeah, any good guitarists cares about chords just as much as single note soloing.
