I saw Nevermore with Loomis and Broderick together and they were amazing .
Same here--on the Enemies tour in Portland, OR in 04/05 timeframe
My jealousy is real here
I am 21 yo. now so I missed the time ☠️
except chris played RHYTHM for loomis which is kinda a letdown
I feel like im watching a janitor contest, so many sweeps
Lol
clap clap they all need a BroomShticks from BeWitch lol haha
Janitor man crossroads
Rusty’s shredding no sweeps really
Paul Gilbert string skips to make it sound like arpeggios.
They cannot be compared. They are totally different guitar players. Only thing they have in common is, they are really really good!!!
Don't know all kinda sounds the same
This needs to be saying in this type of videos
Jeff Loomis takes the fucking cake perfect balance between music and technique.
NO, IS A COPY OF BECKER..
@@kellmackay He has a similar style but it's much darker and heavier, it's unique to him although the technique and scales and music theory they use may be close. He's not a copier he pioneered his own sound, so please don't go around spreading false information.
No, he's blonde and doesn't have ALS
I could listen to Jeff Loomis shred all day
The last tape of Paul Gilbert is totally AMAZING
That string skipping is from another level... Thats not human haha
1 Paul Gilbert
2 Gilbert Paul
3 P. Gilbert
4 G. Paul
+bangbang you forgot Gaul Pilbert
Loomis and Cooley are far better than pg
Arkadij Friedt People think someone like Rusky cooley has something on Paul lol he has zero staccato clarity and picking strenght and Paul gilbert did THE MOST DANGEROUS STRING SKIPPING in the fastest speed at 1/3 distortion when he was his 20s i can give you a link. Boderick and Rusty cooley LOOOLOLOL SUCH PUSSIES THEY DONT EVEN KNOW MUSIC THEORY THAT MUCH. also YOUNG PAUL GILBERT RAPPPPPPPEEES DUSTY COOLEY EVEN JEFF LOOMIS i swear on my mothers life
@@_azu7 lol.
@@serginhodapeixeira4129 Loomis is not the best alternate picker. Saying he is far better than Paul (who has perhaps the cleanest alternate picking) is laughable. His string skipping is also the best. I have seen Loomis try ascending 3 note per string patterns that he borrowed from PG and it needs work. Loomis is a good sweeper though
Gilbert is the foundation of all these shredders
agree
Malmsteen/Vai/Gilbert/Holdsworth
@@inakiaraluze4528 And Buckethead
@@inakiaraluze4528 Don't forget Joe Satriani who taught Via a lot of his skills in the beginning when via decide to switch from playing synthesizer to guitar .
@@inakiaraluze4528 Greg Howe MacAlphine... Freidman...etc
Chris Broderick is so underrated.
He is insane, incredible skills!!
He is not underated, he is a guitar god.
4:00..Broderick..Amaziing!!
Agreed.
Also 5:13.....Killing it!!
Yeah!! Broderick is the best!!! Dark, sinister and unique melodies!!
They're all legends in their own way.
Sorry, sir, we're going to have to ask you to refrain from commenting on CZcams forthwith. If you're going to insist on spelling 'they're' and 'their' correctly, you're obviously in the wrong place.
Loomis hands down, very melodic player.
1.Rusty Cooley:Super Technical,Super Speed
2.Chris Broderick:Just Technically
3.Paul Gilbert:Super Musicall,Super Soul
4.Jeff Loomis:Super Musicall
Paul Gilbert (who is a legend) is the less technical of those guy.
Batio, Impellitieri,Stump,Malmsteen,
I with with Joe Stumps wife Michele
Wtf...Chris Broderick is a beast!
That last Paul Gilbert like is one of the hardest. The only other person I've seen do arppegios like that is Guthrie Govan
Guthrie is the boss!
All are incredible. I'm partial to Gilbert but mostly because he's more of a rocker who happens to have monster chops: I like his straight-up rock songs. Loomis fits the bill when I feel like neoclassical shred. Broderick... mad skill with that two-handed stuff and encyclopedic knowledge of theory, but I just wish his song compositions were more interesting. Rusty is not very interesting to me at all, though he's clearly about the fastest layer in existence. Not in here, but I'm a huge Petrucci fan, and he can really move too, when he feels like it.
Jeff Loomis is a beast
Not clean picking .....do u play??? Ur ears need ?cool?
@@markgalbraith9316 NOT CLEAN? HES LITERALLY MORE CLEANER AND ACCURATE THAN RUSTY ASS COOLEY IDIOT
Oh u can play this?? I think not !!! Only some1 at this level can truly pick it...keep up the prac 😎😎
@@markgalbraith9316 i said the same. Hes a beast, very clean pickin by jeff loomis. Idk what you are sayinng
@@markgalbraith9316 each and every note picked by all four of these are clean as hell. What the fuck you're talking about? Lol
They're all outstanding players but if you ask me I would say Loomis is the best songwriter out of the group.
More so than Paul Gilbert? U mad bruv??????
I do agree . I am JP fan boy and next to him Loomis has always driven by his playing ,composition.
By far
Which songs?
@@peterrowan9955 yaa..he has more melody than paul...
Gilbert and Loomis
Correct.
I love Jeff loomis
Never had I felt so hopeless. Oh god, why did I even watch this.
Jeff loomis might not be the fastest and technical but he is surely the most melodic and clean out of these four
if loomis in not technical idk what is?
kirk hammett?
slash?
@@asmodius666 seriously, this guy selected some of the most technical players and out them against each other. The result is, non stop shred blast, and making us feel like completely hopeless
Paul gilbert is more melodic than Jeff Loomis in my opinion
Jeff Loomis (with Broderick) are the most technical.
Jeff Loomis is not technical?🤣
Paul Gilbert can play a guitar with one String and kill it. Jeff Loomis is a god, seen him live and he nailed every note. those 2 are hands down the best. also both can kill it outside of just shred playing.
Gilbert and Loomis are years light from the rest on melodic and dynamic playing
Rusty Cooley's technique and precision is far beyond everything the rest can do.
+metal elitist and its boring as fuck
Jack Reilly Yes, but impressive.
metal elitist yes but ultimately pointless
Jack Reilly But impressive.
metal elitist yep
I don't know about you guys, but Gilbert is thw only one who isn't battling dead noise and bum notes throughout his videos, and I cam here for Rusty Cooley.
3:37; I might have to give it to Paul Gilbert, just because he was able to pull that off at the bottom of a dirty aquarium.
Seriously, though, it's funny seeing these guys blazing, then Cooley comes and does everything twice as fast and just as clean.
Rusty - fastest
Paul - cleanest
Chris - best tapping
Jeff - also rocks
jeff loomis rocks
1:49 Broderick
well, cooley hands down is the fastest, know doubt about it!! but gilbert is a genius!! loomis is incredible!! and broderick is much more about tapping styles, which is great, don't get me wrong, the man is extremey talented!!
Conrad Dev good summary
Cooley is definitely the fastest. Loomis is my favorite; he's carrying the Friedman / Becker torch.
Loomis/Gilbert my favorites
And the picture in the beginning is awesome!
Did you hear Broderick solo in song How the Story ends, one of the best.
Paul Gilbert can't be compared, all 3 of them would say that, he is a godfather,,, those 3 are great guitarists, but paul is more then that...
Paul Gilbert is one of some guitarist that really has the most precise technique i've ever known, his fingers movement is so accurate and consistent, his picking technique is so consistent using downstroke and upstroke moves even though he has to do string skipping and he picks so assertively even in a fast tempo. His left hand's fingers placement on the fretboard is on the place supposed to be, when he plays 3 notes per string let say D-E-F, he will use index finger, ring finger and pinkie whereas many guitarist will use index, middle and ring finger.
@@dhikayudhaperdana8161 all these four players have some of the most precise picking techniques. All I know is I'm this vid made me feel like a worthless piece of shit.
Rusty Cooley is the master of alternate picking
Lol at least in this comparison i don't see that...
Rusty is faster than everyone here just as musical
Rusty is probably faster than everyone but far inferior to the other three
They're all amazing.
Jeff Loomis
Everyone's a winner lmfao
Man every one of these dudes are just phenomenal and whatever they play
In the words of Derrick St. Hubbins," I threw my guitar out, why bother, why bother, I can't play the thing like that, use it as a coffee table." Incredible!!
LOOMIS WITH NEVERMORE IZ THE BEST
Knowledge, versatility, musicality, articulation, pinky = Paul Gilbert
Jeff Loomins wins hands down.
Chris broderick technique is untouchable
For sure!
All of them are amazing
Rusty Cooley! Absolutely the best.
My great friend
Nicky turned me on to this! Thank you my friend.
That was just awesome
paul gilbert is such an amazing musician. Even though he has great technique, he doesn't rely on it as his bread and butter.
Rusty cooley is a monster!!
At a certain point there are any number of players that can technically execute anything possible. At that point it’s not a matter of who is “better”. It’s a matter of personal preference.
Great video game music
1-jeff
2-paul
3-chris
4-rusty
Paul and Chris are more melodic than rest.
Amps and Guitars nope
I heard that all these guys are so super talented in whatever they play but it seems that when they're all together doing this it's the sweep the floor the quickest
seems all apart of eddie mixed with yngwie is what evolved to this..Got to love all of them. Paul`s vids are way back in time though.
Gilbert is so clean with his alternate picking
Loomis sounds so awesome , I mean his compositions are awesome
But man Gilbert's is really smooth and sounds really clean when he plays fast
1.Gilbert
2.Loomis
3.Chris
4.Cooley
this
yup
Rusty Cooley Amazing
Rusty Cooley is all about speed and noise.
Surprise..all super guitarist..great..
1 chris
2 paul
3 jeff
4 rusty
Yeah! Broderick is the best!!
The string skipping at the end is the longest and cleanest lick of all clips 😂😂😂
I like all their styles, Paul is great, but my favorite is Broderick, he plays so relaxed, Rusty and Jeff have great technique, but i feel like they are so tense.
At this level of playing, there are no winners.Add guys like Petrucci, Vai, Batio, Malmsteem, Skolnik, Becker, Satriani and it's really a question of substance and style.Like Neo? then Malmsteem, Speed? Batio,Prog Thrash?..Loomis..freakily good shit?...Jarzomback. Speed is great and sweeping arpegios are fine but remember, technical ability is only half the story the other is soul.Anyone want to say Blackmore sucks? or Van Halen?,Gilmore?, Brian May?Page?.....it's craftsmanship AND artistry. For me, Godless Endeavor was/is one of the best guitar albums out there but so is Animation of Etimology and ..Physical Graffiti....
Thank you sir
2:35 the river dragon has come
3:00 scarified
Loomis is the best guitarist of present times, gilbert was a god in his times.
Other two are monsters as well, rusty and broderick might be more technical and faster but they still have to prove themselves.. I mean, Loomis has done a lot of stuff. And gilbert has been playing since 80's.
Lmao! Loomis is uncreative and sloppy. Cooley's newest videos are hella "musical." The "list" I'm about to give is subjective as are all opinions and viewpoints but... best to worst overall (fuck popularity it means absolutely and literally fuck all)
1. Paul Gilbert
2. Rusty Cooley
3. Chris Broderick
4. Jeff Loomis
Unless Jeff is just not showing any of is various techniques in all of his solos or guitar party rights and yes I listen to all of the ban he is with and some of his solo work he couldn't live without the diminished scale and Chris' two handed technique and creations, as well as,Russty's technique and again creativity, and with Paul Gilbert string skipping and just excellent both in his teaching and creations... Loomis just pales on so many factors. Every fucking solo rom Loomis is the same... yeah Rusty just plays very fast most the time but at the same time at least his technique and execution thereof is extremely precise and different each solo hahahaha. Let's spare the fucking "no blues and bends ????@?@?@?@ no pentatonic???@?@?@?@?@ it IS SHIT CLAPTON IS GODDDDDDDDD " fucking dumb.
@@Arycke you know, there are times when you shouldn't give such expert comments, and keep your mouth shut. Wtf do you think are you even saying, do you even know? Go and tell this bullshit story to your nanny. There was another one, saying that PG smokes everyone, and that Rusty is sloppy as hell. You guys are just some clowns, talking shit out here. Want to see what kind of pussies you all are on the streets.
All great guitarists, and whilst I'd say Rusty is the most technically accomplished, I find Paul much funner to listen to since there's so much diversity in the way he plays in terms of techniques as well as scales and modes.
I must admit to the fact of PAUL'S playing is so unique as techniques wise and Loomis as well too.
This is like choosing which of my children I love more.
I do like all of them, but I feel like Broderick and Loomis showed the most variety.
6:07 Comfortably Numb Backing Track 😻🔥💯
Paul Gilbert is the Master
paul gilbert..🎸
no more words !
That's because you don't even have any words to prove that Paul Gilbert is the best out here. IMFAO.
I’m a fan of all these guys but loomis has the “it” factor for me. Always has. Writes the sickest riffs and solos imo
Shawn Lane was the Chuck Norris of guitar, so Shawn Lane wins. Yes even a battle he's not mentioned in.
Agree, he was the most technical and most musical of all
Yeah cooley definitely has gotten close many times to his speed
I'm a huge jeff loomis fan ( I have the engl special edition and his sig guitars) but ill have to say knowledge and skill goes to Paul gilbert
1. Paul Gilbert
2.Jeff Loomis
3.Chris Broderick
4.Rusty Cooley
jeff loomis is the king
.....yeaaaaaaaaa
I love them ALL haha
All these guys are great l'm not going to say who is the best. For me the style of Jeff Loomis and Rusty Cooley. These two guys have the best refs of anybody out today and over the top lead the best best of both worlds.
Rusty is a monster of sweep arpeggios but the hole shred stuff, Paul is the absolutely master in think.
You can do a similar Video with Shawn Lane, Guthrie Govan, Jason Becker and Yngwie Malmsteen.
...and the winner will be: PG!
Prefer sa cred că Jason Becker este campionul tuturor timpurilor...un geniu absolut...după el Greg Howe și MacAlphine
I like them all for different reasons
The all is a BEAST 😎👍🤘
All the guys plays great, but Broderick is the winner. Winner 🏆
2:56 ahhh the live album! That riff always stood out to me, sounded like a video game haha
Loomis is my fav but these guys are all legends
Jeff loomis. Impressed me the most here but Gilbert is the king.
Broderick
Loomis
Rusty
Gilbert
Yeah! Broderick is insane!! Dark and unique!
Jeff loomis is in my top 5 a rusty is in my top 10 but I'm not all that blown away by Chris broderick Paul is just a legend
In terms of technique:
1. Rusty Cooley (without a doubt)
2. Chris Broderick
3. Jeff Loomis
4. Paul Gilbert
In terms of how good their music is (in my opinion):
1. Paul Gilbert
2. Jeff Loomis
3. Rusty Cooley
4. Chris Broderick
In terms of "all"
Paul Gilbert .
8 finger tapping is the best technique..
David Bao
You don't seriously think that Paul Gilbert has better technique than Rusty do you? Or any of the other guys for that matter. These days, every experienced shredder and their moms can play most of Gilbert's material. I sure as hell can't say the same for the other three.
Sorry for my "spanish" : Yo no hablo de tecnica,mi amigo, hablo de musica,de musicalidad y de legado . La tecnica es una herramienta que se consigue con practica . La MUSICALIDAD es un DON. Saludos
David Bao
Ah, so you're not a native English speaker. What I was saying in the first half of my comment is that Paul didn't have as good of technique, so when you said in terms of "all" Paul Gilbert, you implied that Paul Gilbert had better technique than the other three (which is false). I agree with you though; Paul Gilbert definitely makes the best music out of the four.
Each one is the " best " in their own unique , individual way - if a person likes one better than the others then that is " best " ti that person which is the real question .
No one can say who is best cause no one really knows . They actually say who they LIKE THE BEST !
I like all four - so they are all the best
Why are y'all arguing when Lil Wayne isn't...even on the list!
So many people say wheres the proof that there is a "Higher Being". Well people if this doesnt show you that some people are blessed with a gift from that higher being . Then i simply dont know what to say... I feel no one can judge these guys... Each one of them brings a certain element to the table. Now if you wanna say i prefer.... I can go with that.. Saying that , being from Denver i used to see Chris all the time . Jag Panzer or around the town. Highlands Ranch... Great person. Havent had the pleasure of meeting any of the others ... I think they all win.
Rusty.
NEXT?
Loomis
Broderick
Gilbert
Rusty
NÃO DA PRA SABER CADA UM TEM O SEU ESTILO!!
broderick is complete of muscle memory
jeff loomis has the best vibrato and song writing
paul is the most versitale between them cause of his blues side
rusty is a result of an experiment about ''practicing 25 hours a day''
haha thanks
