If you want to observe a fight while cloaked, use the Scimitar. For some reason that ship doesn't run out of power, whereas the other Romulan and Klingon ships do.

For what it is worth the Borg ability to adapt has limitations. In comparative reality Star Wars weaponry can take on Star Trek weaponry and defeat them. In Star Wars those lasers are not lasers as we know them. They are actually high-intensity plasma burst with a damaged yield in the high gigaton range. For example the eight double turbolaser cannons on the Venator class produce a.22 gigaton punch / cannon with a heavy rate of fire. And I'm not even counted the smaller gun that have at least 120 megaton yield per torrent. The Victory and Imperial classes improve on this damage and rate of fire exponentially. Not to forget the fact that Star Wars utilizes ion weaponry which is very effective against Droids. Being that the Borg are cybernetic, they would be particularly vulnerable to such weaponry Also it should be noted that Sith Star Destroyers of 4,000 years prior to the Clone Wars were capable of ripping a planet's crust apart in just a couple of hours of sustained bombardment. Now I'm going to point out this fact before someone accuse me of being just a Star Wars fan. The fact that as I am 56 years old, I was there in the first run syndications of Star Trek the Original series as well as being there in the theaters for the very first Star Wars movie. Along with every other franchise that have come along since those days I respect all the technologies that have been presented to us through the years. However some Star Trek fans, as a result of the Next Generation series, have become pretty arrogant in their belief that Star Trek technology, especially that of Starfleet, is the top of a technological food chain in science fiction when it most certainly is not. There are plenty of franchises out there whose technology can beat the crap out of Starfleet technology. This is not based off of any fandom bias but an observation based on the technologies as presented in the various franchises. Bridge Commander gives us an opportunity to explore these crossovers. Although some still have a bit of a whine whenever their favorite franchise loses.

Y wings and Tie Defenders.....now 200 Skipray Blast Boats all packing Proton Torpedo's and Concussion missiles would give that cube a smacking. The Borg shields would have trouble with the Concussion missiles as they are kinetic with an explosive warhead...nothing to adapt to. A Fleet Of Victory 1's would be called for :)
It's like Independence Day battle. Lots of firepower has been thrown at the alien vessel, but not enough damage dished out to make a difference. I don't suppose Assimilation Cubes have a weak spot a certain moisture farmer from Tatooine could ram into, hmm? 😉
I didn't think the battle would last long either, because the Y-wings have been typically portrayed as the slowest and least maneuverable in the Rebellion. Plus they have only a handful of proton torpedoes. And considering how bloody powerful an Assimilation Cube is, nothing short of a Mon-Calimari cruiser or a Star Destroyer would stand any chance of surviving that encounter.
Y wings need to come in unpowered and then when in close proximity power on and unload a shitload of Ion cannons. Those stand the best chance at interfering even with Borg systems. Blasting a hole in an exterior hatch to then fly inside and attempt to destroy a central reactor. Shame you can't do that in game, but thats how I'd lead a fleet of Y Wings in.

In terms of shielding its probably close to accurate, but y wings should have cluster bombs which would be pretty close to transphasic torpedoes in terms of damage. The blue weapons are ion cannons which should be initially 100 percent effective against the borg as we see in picard borg ships are not emp shielded.
Never mind the cube taking damage. I don't think they'd even take interest in the Rebel fighters. Given the level of technology, I just don't think they'd bother.

In all fairness, you are pitting single-seat fighter/bombers against a Borg cube. You might as well send TOS-era shuttles against the Executor (Darth Vader's super star destroyer) or perhaps the Death Star. Now that'd be an interesting match up: the Death Star versus a Borg cube. Sure, the Borg can adapt, but would the cube have time? Those ships are incredibly tough, but the Death Star can blow up entire planets so I don't think a single Borg cube could withstand a direct hit at full power. Multiple Borg cubes might be able to destroy the Death Star, though, since they'd be able to adapt after a cube gets destroyed.
I used to play Tie Fighter on PC and the Y Wings were the most useless pieces of space junk. They were so slow, the main problem was trying not to ram into the back of them. The A Wings were much better, mainly because they were so fast, you couldn't get a target lock. The X Wings were much better too. I think the only Star Wars ship that would stand a chance against the Borg would be a Star Destroyer or several.
The Borg and Species 8472. The Shadows and the Vorlons. Pretty much any major "bad guy" of Star Trek and Babylon 5 would be able to obliterate most vessels and even fleets in the Star Wars universe. Which makes it more impressive that the Federation Alliance and the Interstellar Alliance (respectively) were able to hold their own and even beat those enemies. Doesn´t paint a good picture for the overall, shall we say, combat power of most Star Wars vessels. And since Starfleet ships are, if properly configured, able to deflect even an energy blast capable of destroying a star system its safe to say not even Starkiller base or the various Death Stars would be able to overpower them. From B5 I´d send in the Minbari. And before you point out "The Force" - I´m leaving out the "mystic" powers of those universes deliberately. Otherwise we´d have B5s telepaths, First Ones and Technomages saying hello alongside the Bajoran Prophets and the Q Continuum.
I could see the Imperials and Rebels put aside their differences and go against the Borg together. Especially if the Imperials realise they'd be sealing their own fate too. From what I understand yeah I don't think the Assimilation Cube in reality would take any damage from the Star Wars weapons. Those weapons are a lot more weaker compared to Trek tech and weaponry. I would like to think the Star Wars weapons as powerful as the command center of the Lysian Alliance from the Star Trek TNG episode "Conundrum". Would one photon torpedo be able to penetrate a Stardestroyer's shields? Very possible. The Death Stars? Maybe not as easily no.

Except that the federation ford gave the peregrine class fighter and used it extensively during the dominion war in very specific situations (usually attacking cardassian galor class cruisers in large numbers).

@@DrOneOneOne you might talk to the maquis about that. Also, the peregrine is not the same ship as a Maquis raider which is a multi person ship with a crew. The largest crew I’ve seen in a peregrine is two. Go back to the DS9 episode where Sisko is first seeking out the Maquis and the battle between a runabout and a peregrine and you will see what I mean. The maquis had both raiders and peregrine class fighters as they have been shown operating both types.
