    I love DS9 probably more than any other craft in Trek, but yeah this modded version is OP. Anything that can take down a Borg Cube with ZERO hull damage is probably not balanced.

    That all depends on what time you are looking at the DS9. After the Dominion War, I can see that. Before the Dominion War, no, it's over powered.

    I really did enjoy watching this battle👍 However, this battle would've most likely ended up a bit differently if in a TV show or in a Trek movie, but unfortunately decidedly in the Borg's favor unless a fleet of friendlies came to DS9's defense. The Borg, as we all know, is more than capable of adapting and remodulating all shield and weapons frequencies and transport drones through a target's shields. Each Borg drone is also capable of adapting and remodulating their weapons and personal shields as well.

      But you are talking about multi phaser arrays and 5,000 photon torpedoes. The Borg would have been smashed.

      Depends on power generation, if that was high enough DS9 might win with brute force.

    I feel like this battle would have been incredibly cathartic for Sisco.
    But, yes, I cn see Dominion Wars DS9 tearing through support ships, but it should have needed to put more work into fighting that cube - I was expecting it to be a LOT closer.
    With regards to the rectangles, yes - it's in Voyager. Voyager actually targets one to steal a transwarp coil because it's one of the weakest Borg vessels equipped with them.
    It also appears in Armada 2 as an "Interceptor" and fills that role very well - it's a nippy if weak little ship with a single forward firing beam weapon that's really only useful to harass enemy scouts and trade vessels, chase down heavily damaged vessels that are trying to retreat from a real fight or lob into a suicide charge designed to stall for time until your slower ships arrive or you can open a conduit (though this is kind of a 'false tactic' since it relies on the enemy fleet stopping to fight a target which, honestly, it can just swat at like wasps while it keeps going - you were pretty much banking on your opponents inexperience for that one).

  • @haroldchase4120

  • @radagastaddams3703

    if the Borg assimilated the Jem'Hadar they'd get some sturdy drones. be interesting if they went through the wormhole, encountered the celestial beings & somehow managed to assimilate them. since Borg have technology that would presumably have internal clock registers they might find it hard assimilating a race that exists outside of time.

  • @Renserin
    @Renserin Před měsícem

    I'm actually surprised that when the Tactical Cube exploded, it didn't take out DS9 as well. From the video, it certainly looks like it parked only feet from the Upper Docking Pylons.

  • @_BLACKSTAR_

    Martok never believed there were 5000 torpedos, he said it was an illusion made of thoron fields and duranium shadows.
    Then Gowron said "You are like a toothless old grishnar cat trying to frighten us with your roar"
    Then Sisko kicked the living shit out of the Klingon fleet with his very real 5000 photon torpedos.

    Personally, I'm surprised the Borg didn't attack Bajor or DS9 in the series. Like if they used the war as a distraction to gain a foothold in the alpha quadrant.
    I would also like to have seen the Borg adapting to strategy. Instead of trying to assimilate the big cheese of the alpha quadrant, if they were to try to go for the small fries first.

  • @dannolives
    @dannolives Před 2 lety +2

    you are right to attack the weak. that is sun tzu.
    “To win one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the acme of skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill.” “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong, and strike at what is weak.”
    it is always best to destroy your weakest enemy first. hes easiest eliminated, and unable to help your stronger enemy when defeated.

  • @crownprincesebastianjohano7069

    This does not seem off-base. By the time of the Dominion War, Starfleet weapons were pretty effective against the Borg. The size of the fleet that destroyed the Borg Cube in the Battle of Sector 001 had less firepower than the refit DS9 of the period. The Borg are lucky that this DS9 wasn't equipped with quantum torpedoes.

    • @crownprincesebastianjohano7069
      @crownprincesebastianjohano7069 Před 2 lety

      DS9 was drastically refit before the Klingon attack and upgraded even more following the AAR. It is a completely different animal. The original Cardassian version of DS9, Terok Nor, was not a battle station, but an administrative hub and ore processing center. Terok Nor wouldn't able to handle an attack by even a single Galaxy Class starship. In the pilot episode it stood little chance against three Galor Class cruisers.

      @@crownprincesebastianjohano7069 I would say it was a combination, but not better than federation. A refit of shields and torpedoes. But the same computer. No big change to power supply and infrastructure. And at that point, Voyager still hadn't come back with info on how to make shields better, and it was just a few years after the battle with Borg.
