I have a hunch that some graders may own 10’s of some of these vintage cards and refuse to add more 10’s to the pop because it’ll bring the value of their personal collection down. They may even go so far as to make a tiny blemish and pretend it was always there. Coming from someone with an eye for detail, so many 9’s are clearly solid 10’s. I just don’t fully trust it.

@@Itsjcold0 possibly but idk the likely hood of them having lesser quality copies of the exact cards on hand to switch them out.

Not just that but PSA is sometimes extremely coin flippy with their grading. I have some cards which I'd never would have guessed were a 10
Love your channel. I wish these companies had a sheet for every card to show what they dinged to take off grades would make customers feel better about the reason some cards are graded the way they are.

My brother sold my Pokémon collection to his friend for £100 when we were around 16/17 (15 years ago) now he’s sold them for over 4K 😂 I’m happy for him though 😅

Ya I have a whole box of 1999 1st edition base set cards and 1999 shadowless cards I didn’t bother to grade from those two box openings I did. lol. Also a ton more 1999 jungle and fossil 1st edition holos and 8 boxes worth of commons lol

The fact that resending it could possibly change the grade, shows me people blindingly worship PSA. It’s not the best SGC is better imo and 100x faster.

Man PSA is seriously so corrupt. For cards that dont even have pointed edges the original pokemon never get 10's anymore because they control the pop count so they make money when you send them in people rarely get the grade they want so they crack them a resubmit. Just to pay psa again. All those cards should have gotten 10's.
I just filmed another PSA return for the non holo versions of this. It’s even worse for that return then this one considering there is no holo foil involved.

I can see the holos with print lines and holo bleed not getting 10's but the non holos?? Cmon! I wounder if the smaller grading companys do the same thing? Ohh well just found your channel, i collect sports but when i was young i finished the first set 1-151 all holos and non holos. Even went and watched the pokemon movie 3 times with my brother to get multiple ancient mews. The good ole days

No I got a lot more. This was me hand selecting the best holos that I thought would grade the best.

They definitely grade more harshly imo. Maybe pop control. Idk. That was 3 boxes of Fossil and 2 boxes of Jungle. And I picked out the best cards of each to send. Not one 10.

What’s the difference between a Becket grading vs a PSA grading?
Not much, except that in order to get a perfect Black Label Beckett 10 they are VERY strict. Way more then a PSA 10.

It 100% will be a 10 at PSA if I regraded it with them. But I’m still chasing after the elusive Black label card as there are ZERO for any 1999 series card out there.

Nah, they were just as strict then. Now rewind this 8-10 years ago. Certainly way more lenient probably.
