    Hey Bin, thanks for your tutorial, always learn things from you! currently I have a large scale battens ceiling in organic shape,(from contractor bim team, but then model is original dwg), just wondering if I can mass a roof basic on that battens ceiling ----like you did here. Thanks!

    Nice and straight forward …. Good job Bin
    1. Would it makes any difference if the path was a spline thru points ?
    2. The issue in reference lines profiles vs not-reference lines is : although you can still edit the profiles at the ends of the form , but you won’t be able to find the profiles in the middle (u think it’s possible to insert such profile compacted profiles with many arcs?)
    3. It would be great if u can one time show us (as u can see in the picture in the narrowest part) the transition from the straight part (the profile consists of almost 3,4 straight lines) into 3,4 larger arcs then 3,4 much larger arcs etc.

    • @BINHE615
      @BINHE615  Před rokem

      1. I think the result can be very similar.
      2. You can, you need to hover the cursor on the profile and it will appear.
      3. All the lines here are arcs, we copy (CC) and scale (RE) to create all the profiles, remember?

    i wanted to ask if you could make a tutorial where you make a plan and add a mass to it

  • @OSpics
    @OSpics Před 2 měsíci +1

    Great Bin. Thnx. Is it possible to categorize this mass as Generic Model so that we can change different categories in it later on? If yes, how?

    • @BINHE615
      @BINHE615  Před měsícem

      Depends. If you model this as an adaptive family, you can change the category to some other, but if you model it as a model in place, I don't think you can change it.

  • @starshipsolar
    @starshipsolar Před 7 měsíci +1

    How do you give this a thickness?

    • @BINHE615
      @BINHE615  Před 7 měsíci

      You can place roof/wall by face so you can control the thickness by roof/wall type. Alternately, you can use closed loop as profile so you get solid mass instead of surface.

    hi ben >>I followed all steps and repeated them>>whenI reach to creat form it gives me a massege AND it didnt work>>what mistake may be i made?

    • @BINHE615
      @BINHE615  Před rokem

      First, try creating a form using the same profiles along the path. Then, adjust the profile as needed. You might find this approach helpful.
      Sometimes, it's necessary to start by including only part of the profiles in the form and then gradually add more profiles into it.

    HEY! i really need help Asap! i have tilted wall that should be glass panels, its a triangular shape. i tried mass but i couldnt add glass panels. its just a big block of glass, i tried family like you stated, couldnt work because it was rectangular, and the mass isnt. I really dont know how to do this. plz help!
    i also tried usin: wall-curtainwall-draw-pickfaces. didnt work.
    edit: i can provide ss.

    • @BINHE615
      @BINHE615  Před 7 měsíci +1

      You have different options. 1, sloped glazing: model it as a sloped glazing(roof) with footprint and slope arrow. This should be the easiest if it works. Option 2, use model in place mass, place 3 points on the corners, connect then using spline through points, then create a surface using these lines, after that, you can either use divided surface with pattern based family in the mass, or place curtain system outside of the mass. Option 3, you can also use model in place generic model, and place roof by face on it, this might not work with sloped glazing. If you still not sure how, post it in the the file and I’ll get back to you.

    how to make it in a close loop shape?

    • @BINHE615
      @BINHE615  Před měsícem

      Unfotunately, Revit does not support closed spline, but you can try creating it using 2 splines, and place profiles on each spline to create separate forms.

    is this just impossible now? I get a self intersecting geometry error no matter how I try to do a profile sweep :(

    • @BINHE615
      @BINHE615  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Try starting with something simple first. For example, you can create a straight path with multiple points. Once the surface is created, you can adjust the points to change the shape of the path.

    • @zena-te2ee

      The best way is to adjust the shape of the profile, the surface/mass will adjust automatically.
