In January 2018 Bournemouth beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, a result their manager Eddie Howe described as their "best result" since their promotion to the Premier League.
They remained level at half-time, despite Bournemouth demonstrating signs of promise during the first half, and then took the lead when Callum Wilson scored six minutes into the second half.
Junior Stanislas then doubled their lead, before former Chelsea defender Nathan Aké scored their third, securing all three points.
A year later, incidentally, Howe oversaw a 4-0 home victory over the same opponents, on that occasion managed by Maurizio Sarri. Most recently - in December 2019 - they won again at Stamford Bridge, this time when Frank Lampard was Chelsea’s manager.

Incredible manager. The slander he gets is always so reactionary. People forget he’s brought Bournemouth up from league 2. Amazing
ryan moss It is reactionary but you have to expect that given the bad season they’re having rn. I don’t think many people slander him as a manager and don’t forget what he’s done for that club but when you build a level of expectation, when you fall short of that, people will criticise

A cool story people don’t know about Eddie and Bournemouth is that when they were in the 4th tier of English football near relegation to the conference the owner sacked their manager. A fan sprayed painted on the owners house saying “you don’t know what you’re doing”. Later the owner gave interim management to a ex player who had been badly injured so couldn’t play anymore, Eddie Howe. The owner got his house vandalised again with “you still don’t know what you’re doing” and that season Eddie Saved Bournemouth and climbed the tiers of English football!

His 4-0 defeat of Sarri’s Chelsea last year I would say was more of a tactical master class, he had sussed Sarri out and told his players not to worry about pressing or having the ball as he knew Chelsea would only slowly pass the ball in front of their low block and not play a single penetrating pass or dribble direct.. they would have all their luck once possession changed over.. he was also very astute to leave King uptop without worrying too much coming back, caused Luiz and Rudiger nightmares!

Eddie Howe is the best English manager right now. He’s a real life FM save, taking Bournemouth from nowhere all the way to the Premier League itself is a fantastic achievement.
England should try everything to convince Howe to take Southgates job if he failes at the Euros! He would be a breath of fresh air with his attacking approach and tactical knowledge
