Adam finds inspiration for his next foam dart blaster build in the motorized design of the D-Dart Pro Blaster, and pairs two of them into a unique head-mounted form factor! The finished assembly is as absurd as it looks, and Adam has a ridiculous amount of fun testing it around the office. This is our new "headcannon"!

GREAT GREAT Thumbnail ... Was you Josh ? Parodic Classy Creative . Keep it up
They will be sold out by the end of the day lol
That video went so viral CZcams wont stop suggesting it to me every single day since it came out.
That's why I haven't watched it. I hate things when they're being shoved up my ass.
I won't lie if someone ever made a "Adam Savage being a massive nerd for x time compilation it would be days long" cause Your a constant masive nerd which is a great thing!
Now you gotta do a motion activated tripod mounted nerf blaster with facial recognition software. Or a robotic spider with infra red vision and thumb tack darts
the energy of a 5 year old and the knowledge of a guru. gotta love when he's thoroughly inspired lol
For real! I know the feeling that he has, and it's amazing. One of the many things I love about this channel.
Tested should run a "customize your nerf" contest. Imagine what Laura, Simone, Bill and others could come up with.
with the community that love to mod nerf guns that will explode so fast. people love nerf and there is some big nerf modders out there that i bet would love to co lab with Adam to do some epic stuff.
Grant would win
@@MausOfTheHouse Grant is Rip, if you didn’t know.😔
@@BlitzMekanika That's why I said "would".
alot of the poeple from the youtube maker's secret santa. (colin furze, james bruton, ect) would be perfect
12:20 man, if I were the engineer who designed that part, hearing this from someone like Adam would make my entire year.
I love the energy that Adam has in this video. He's acting like a child and it's great. More people need this kind of energy.
This is exactly the type of content that I was looking for, Adam really loves working on something like this, not necessarily the foam darts, but something that makes him this excited is a great video to watch!
I on the other hand was not looking for this type of content.
i bless the algorithm. You may not get what you want, but you get what you need.
💯
TRUMP 2024
havent seen anything from adam savage in a long time... and man he is acting really cringey as far as im concerned. only made it to 8 minutes
to be fair... its part of being really smart i suppose.
Please reach out if you ever want to collaborate on a foam blaster project! This was fun! We have been modding the tempest since the V1 launched in 2019- super fun blasters!
Yes! that would be awesome! I hope they see this :)
Im scared that if luke and Adam touch the fabric of reality might rip
thats just too much building/modding power for a single place
I want to see a proton pack modded proton pack
Watching this vid I immediately thought he'd love a pair of Jupiters and a Proton Pack
I want so much to see Luck introduced on Tested.
Ok, the Green Laser Sight was the icing on the cake that made me comment - WACKY and AWESOME!
Your channel (and Adam) raised me, thank you for all y'all do!
I am SO honored, Sir! Its been an amazing journey together @@cameron_bowe
The laugh of pure excitement and happiness at 43:06 is so heartwarming and magnificent. One of the major reasons I loved mythbuster, and one of the major reasons I love watching Tested
His excitement and energy for the random little projects is what keeps me watching haha. Can just tell he is loving almost every second of it. Then once finished the true 5 year old comes out haha. 10/10 love this stuff!
I learned a LOT about gauge blocks from Adam's video on his new set. I also learned what the company across the street from my apartment, Starrett Tools, actually makes.
(Hint, it's gauge blocks and other measuring tools [including visual and laser metrology - something I learned about on Smarter Every Day], force and material testing tools, precision ground steel sock, and saw blades.)
"I guess I'm gonna have to read the manual" - in a defeated tone - is SUCH a _worker man_ thing to say.
I work in IT and this is extremely relatable. There's this idea that, since the manuals are often written for tech-illiterate consumers, IT professionals should be able to figure it out just by looking at it. Unfortunately, this is not always the case.
@@antonliakhovitch8306 then the manual sucks too so you end up watching a CZcams video of some hero in India.
I get disappointed in myself if I can't transform a Hasbro Transformer on my own without instructions... the more complicated the more disappointment I feel if I open them.
the sheer joy 43 mins in when he tests it is like watching a kid in a candy store. This is proper goodness. Thanks for sharing, Adam!
Always blows my mind how great Adam's showmanship is, I had seen the thumbnail, the title, the intro, knew he was going to stick those blasters on his helmet, but goddamn, when he revealed that was the plan my brain exploded and I was so shocked and excited. Incredible talent and energy.
This feels 1000% like an Adam Savage Mythbusters build and I love it!
Big fan of unhinged, off the rails Savage. Definitely my favourite Savage variant
one thing I love about Adam Savage is just how he keeps his child-like joy about things, out of all the makers I watch on youtube, I've never seen someone so wholeheartedly enthusiastic and excited about everything
Adam: WHAT!? WHAT!? THIS IS AWESOME!
Also Adam: Carefully testing the function, carefully picking up each dart, methodically moving back to check the power and accuracy.
Adam is such a nerd. I absolutely love it. He always knows how to make me feel like a kid again. His joy and laughter is contagious.
Adam, over the years your one day builds have touched a part of me that has begun to be neglected as i get older, but you continue to inspire me to create and conceptualise new things every day. Your process of working has changed the way i think in so many ways, and I wish I could personally tell you how much that means to me. Thanks for Always being Awesome Adam, and the rest of the wider tested crew.
Only ten minutes in so far but it is brilliant to see Adam so fired up over a project. His enthusiasm is infectious.
I've been a staunch supporter of Tested since it's inception.
Even done a couple/4 of his, umm, simpler constructs with ~ if I do say so myself due to his excellent description of process ~ wonderful results.! 😁
But during his intro and description of process here, Adams level of excitement, complete with boot stamping and the obligatory 'RIGHT!?!? ' is just so highly infectious, and nearly next level enthusiasm for the foam projectile project!!
Because of it all, and as per usual when watching nearly anything Adam Savage ~ Myth Busters included ~ it's AGAIN making my inner monologue go:
I HAVE IDEAS 💡💡💡!!!
Describing electrons as angry pixies. love it. Love everything about it.
aVe was here.
Skookum
@@jamesdoulane1 lol omg thought the same thing. 😂
As frig.
IKR? That will forever be my way of explaining electricity now.
This Thumbnail! I am never removing this video from the start of my Tested/Savage Industries Playlist on CZcams, so that it will forever be the image that reminds me how insanely beautiful Adam’s creativity is. It’s the perfect blend of madman and genius, which is how I choose to see Adam Savage.
Adam is the perfect example of being an adult in skills and practice, yet a child with enthusiasm and energy.
that one dart that landed straight up at 5:12 was just so satisfying
I could not stop laughing this entire video it's nothing but Adam exploding in childlike happiness.
Such a great video to lift my spirits
This was almost screaming duck level XD
Adam + anything that shoots, goes boom or whoosh = elated childhood happiness eruption!
Adam has enough energy to power a small town.
I can see Adam on his onewheel, rolling down the sidewalk, coffee in hand, this contraption on his head
Trillions of dollars spent. Decades of dedicated hard work, and frustration to birth the Internet of today, and.............. this is what we get? Marvelous! Simply, marvelous! Thanks Adom.
Super-extra props for not over-editing, instead leaving the details (and mishaps). Please never change!
Looks like an offspring of Adam's craftsmanship and Simone's brilliance
i think Simone is so busy cutting stained glasses these days.
I have never had tears in my eyes watching one of your videos, Mr. Savage, until this one. When you turned your head and the camera jumped to behind the cups, I loved how the massive device atop your head wobbled slightly.
The joy that Adam gleaned from this project brought a huge smile to my face! Thanks for that!
The pure joy and excitement exhibited by Adam starting at 4:33 really made me smile. I could watch him shooting darts and picking them up all day. 😆🙂
Gun: Doesn’t shoot.
Adam: Immediately looks down the barrel.
...And then another senseless foam-dart related death. WHEN WILL PEOPLE LEARN?
Blaster*
He's got safety-rated glasses, nearly as much protection as a Jeorg t-shirt and a Colin Furze safety tie.
now just imagine it has a beltfed system and Adam wearing a back pack with all the ammo inside. this project is absolutely amazing XD
Imagine dual spring loaded shoulder cannons that come out from the backpack and rest on his shoulders and fire vs a head mounted system.
Right as I thought, damn, those screws are gonna suck to keep track of, Adam thanks the manufacturer for using all the same screws. Kudos. As someone in the repair business, I salute the effort.
Brilliant. I love how excited he gets when he's enjoying himself! However, how many trip hazards can one workshop have?😄
I had a really bad day at work, I come home to this... I haven't smiled this much in a long long time. One of my top favorite videos from AST! Thank you Adam, and keep be you!
Yes Adam I do have a preferred wrench for those pesky switch nuts.
I use a socket that I filled down to remove the internal bevel. It has saved me a many switches.
The level of genius you have my good sir is worthy of WAYYY more recognition than you already receive!!!
You are the definition of a mad scientist, and I absolutely love it! Your enthusiasm is contagious 🤘
Always great to see Adam's take on foam flinging mods! A stylish hat for the modern man.
I knew I'd find you here.
But would you use that in a war?
@@benjaminsecrist9747 i knew id find you here
@@drflux Some of my favorite Nerfers, all in one comment section! I hope you are well!
Regarding your question for the comments, the ones we use are 9/16" and with a switch guard over them I find the best tool for the job is just the box end wrench. It just fits perfectly under the guard and over the nut.
Adam, I love how your pure joy and excitement bubbles to the surface as you bring together the helmet and guns the first time.
Thank you Adam for keeping my Dad entertained in the past few days. I grew up watching Mythbusters with my Dad . We both like similar things.
I've heard your voice coming out off his tablet and was wondering what he's watching. He was watching a few of your videos here, some I'm familiar with. And he was watching this very video before he passed away yesterday. I'm sure he found comfort in watching you build stuff and be yourself while doing so cause he's quite the same. He's an intelligent man with a knack for tinkering and what not. He like making things with his hands much like his father.
Again, thank you so much Adam. This might be a weird comment but I wanted you to know.
6:56 The kid inside Adam's head is really happy :D
I think we could tell that from the mad cackling in the intro!
I love this ridiculous and amazing build! Fantastic video. =D
So many of my favorite CZcamsrs commenting on this video! Hope you are doing well!
This project is a classic example of where a 3d printer could have been useful!
And a perfect example of why i love Adam and aspire to be like him - pure and unstoppable excitement!!
one thing i will never get over is Adam's child like exuberance at simple, joyful things
I love seeing someone who has brought so many people so much joy being just as happy as they made us.
I always enjoy Adam's excitement and passion when he does these builds :D It's like a kid discovering Lego for the first time!
Must have missed this when it came out but so glad I’ve been dipping back to older videos. Great project, so much fun and well thought out. Next step is a swing out system of the drive mechanism for magazine replacement. Long matrix coat full of preloaded mags ready to go! Not easy but definitely possible 😃
Adam's street credit goes beyond YT... He's legendary at his ability to inspire us all, whether we know him or not.
The thing I love most about Adam is that he gives me license to let my inner child run free. If a man of Adam's 'age' can play with Nerf and Lego and whatever, there is nothing wrong with a man of MY "age" playing with Nerf and Lego and whatever. Keep rocking, Adam.
The best kind of modding.
lol knew you'd be here!
Why are you?
I knew you would like this.
The gang's all here. No one brings a community together like Adam Savage. Hope you are doing well.
Agreed.
It was a joyous pleasure watching Adam channel his inner child on this project. Way to go Adam. Adults should get to be kids once in a while!!!
The music interludes for this one SLAP! Got turned onto to this channel from Adam’s collaboration with Corridor Digital. Obsessed. Happy to be here. Thank you to those who help create this content.
Adam, you truly are gem. I love these crazy "one day builds" you do. It was an honor to have met you at megacon last year.
I totally did not expect him to make a head-cannon out of that. Being a fan of the Matrix, SURELY Adam would've realized that these are the perfect props to make a Mouse from the Matrix cosplay!
with a lady in red lined box >)> he bought 6 ! so maybe he has thought of it :D
I love his energy. He's a big kid. Never lose that.
I love those "WAGO" quick connectors, I also have learned that crimping ferrules to the cables that are not soldered is always worth the tiny bit of effort it takes.
Reminds me of Doc Brown’s “mind reading” machine lol 😂. Keep up the amazing videos Adam:)
Adam is the best version of a mad scientist because firstly his maniacal laugh is such a joy to listen to, he is always learning and trying out new things and overall creates wacky creations that are an absolute pleasure to watch unfold, I love our mad science dad!!
I love that he has quick connects available to use, decides to solder everything instead. Self sabotage, the bane of every project.
omg, the crew at the end. Norm just nodding like "yeah, this is normal" is the icing on this already perfect cake
Newest additions to The Imaginary Dictionary of Savage Terminology:
24:42 "Angry Pixies"
22:54 "Insulatory" or "Insulational"
28:38 "...a/the smart money"
Pretty sure "Angry Pixies" belongs to AvE
AWESOME BUILD, ADAM!! Two recommendations: Instead of reaching up to the battery pack behind your head to power up the system. It might be cooler if when you flip up the switch cover on your trigger switch it energizes the system. Also, as soon as the system gets energized the target reticle rotates into place. You could put the reticle on a servo that stows in the "up" position (out of the way). So, when you flip up the switch cover (1) the system energizes AND (2) the target reticle slowly rotates down into position. As always though - AWESOME BUILD!!
This video (especially the ending) brought me more joy than I thought was humanly possible!!! Thanks Adam! 😂😂😂
This is pure joy. A talented man enjoying his work.
I would love to see a version of this that's belt fed instead of drum fed. Imagine wearing a backpack containing two belts with a hundred rounds each.
"I ain't got time to be very lightly bruised by foam darts." - (Blain, from the movie Predator)
Adam, you are exactly the type of person I want to watch on CZcams. You're genuine, wise, excited about the videos you make, honest, sincere, and you just care for humanity. I wish nothing but the absolute best for you and your family. Keep on keeping on, and hello from Alberta, Canada! Haha
Adam and Jamie made my childhood. Awesome myths and awesome builds.
I absolutely love the random quotes and voices and references. I do that a ton as well, especially when I'm excited about something like he was. Keep on being awesome, fellow Adam.
Preferred wrench for switch, or any narrow nut is the Knipex pliers wrench. Recommend the 8 inch. Cannot recommend it highly enough.
Your content is the bomb. Childlike enthusiasm. Love it!
Here's an unpredictable and fun idea for content in the future that would certainly fuel the fire... wanna have a blaster war? The rules of engagement are simple, we have to one day build our blasters and fortresses. Our battle would be legendary.
Oooh a makers vs. foam-flingers war would be interesting! I’d be curious to see how the ingenuity and knowledge of top level makers stacks up against the experience of the veteran members of the hobby.
I would watch the heck out of that! Excellent idea!
id be willing to say one shot from drac's caliburn or ruffian will make adam give up

2 switches on the remote. 1 toggle on/off switch like you have for the spinner motors. Then a trigger momentary button on the front to fire. That way you can control when the spinners are running instead of having to run the whole time. Love the build!
Please never change, Adam! Your enthusiasm is the best! ❤
It's always so refreshing seeing the enthusiasm he shows as he goes through the process just really sucks you in and makes you feel enthusiastic for him as well
I'm an extreme novice with soldering, but I was able to glean some insights as for a better way to splice two wires! Thanks for showing the process, was very fun to watch.
Dude seeing how excited he gets jus warms me up dude. You can tell this man lives for this. Dude i think a mark rober collab would be awesome
That last scene has the same energy as the old "Kitchen Gun" spoof commercial and I am here for it! Great stuff as always Adam
Going have to read the manual? I instantly had Blackadder III run through my head. "Congratulations on choosing the Armstrong Whitworth four-pounder cannonette. Please read the instructions carefully and it should give years of trouble free maiming."
Is it me, or is Adam starting to turn into Doc Brown. They both seem to have that same manic energy about inventing stuff lol
I've said several times he has crazy scientist hair. lol
@@molly_nap_queen Indeed he does lol
I think it’s that people like him have a child-like wonder, but also the intense desire to understand what’s going on behind the wonder, plus the mind to understand it. I feel like the term “inspiring” gets thrown around too much but that’s what he is.
@@MrDevintcoleman Absolutely. They are my favorite type of scientists.
I know you don't have timre to read all of these, but I would just like to say that it's clear a lot of production value went into this channel and videos like this, but it really just feels like we're hanging out with Adam in his shop, and that is lovely.
Adam has the imagination of a child and the mind of an artist when it comes to these builds!! Love it
The WAGO connectors are great. I just started taking them seriously at work, after having them on hand for about a year. UL listed and use anywhere you would use a wire nut or butt connector. I ordered a set for myself. Hard to say if a soldered connection is better but the convenience factor is second to none.
Adam is experiencing what we all do in the blaster community, having to take apart a blaster after modding to put back that once piece you forgot to put back in. Love this video Adam and team! 😂😂😂
I think a good tool for the cave is a decent plastic welding kit. I love that you can get different types of plastic weld rod as well.
I love how much this man reminds me of my dad. If they knew each other in real life they would probably be friends how similar they are
Congrats.... that was very pretty .
Flywheel blasters are always nice, my favorites are still the airbladder variety. The old nerf Magstrike is still the most satisfying blaster I have.
My NERF AS-20 (Target Exclusive) is still so much fun to shoot at a glass door.. (I had to modify the handle a little for adult hands, though..)
I love how Adam can show us the folly of moving too fast but take it in stride. Being excited is great and we can't wait to do the thing but clearly you will miss something when going a bit too quick.
I completely support the ignore of the manual. Keep doing what your doing guys.🤙
Man, I was watching Adam Savage when I was a kid! And this was like, 10 years ago.
AND STILL I am watching Adam Savage videos.
Few people manage pull off what Adam did in his life thusfar and I dont think Ill ever be able to express my thanks for what a posive influence he has had on me throughout my life.
Loved the intro. Build was inspirational. "Love it when a plan comes thru" Loved watching you build.😎
