Did the assembly you have a link to last or did they start to peel or turn yellow within two years?
Overtime it peeled and flaked, I’d suggest keeping the oem and buff it out with a kit
@@NutzAboutBolts Thanks! In theory could you buy a new assembly and apply ba clear coat to it before installing to hopefully make it last longer? Just curious if you think that would maybe work if you really did need a new assembly. Thanks again!
@@tehxii7706 I haven’t tried that, but overtime they do turn yellow and be flakey due to other vehicles exhaust fumes.
Watched your video with Lofi 90's playing in the back ground, Let me just say it was a complementing match. Thank you for posting this video, saving people a lot of money and headache.
😅 you’re welcome
Thank you very much! Your video is still being used over two years later to help people with this issue!!
Thank you! Glad to know 😃
I have never fixed a thing on a car ever. But I tackled this!! The headlights on my daughter’s Honda were so bad she couldn’t see at night. Bought the ones suggested from Amazon, watched this video a few times and did it! Thank you for a great video - amazing the things you can learn on CZcams!
Glad to hear this :)
I’m a girl , a widow and have zero experience either. Like your daughter, I’m having trouble seeing. I can’t afford to get them replaced at the dealership. Your comment gives me hope! I will be watching many more times. 🙏🏻
September 2021, followed your video on my 2007 Accord and it worked perfectly. Thank you!!
The fifth 10mm bolt time 5:55 ( the side one) is slightly longer than the others. Don't mix it with them and keep it aside. It is not interchangeable.
Do you know if the replacement clips break when taking out? Should I order before replacing?
thanks!
Thank you👍
Thanks You saved me hundreds of dollars! Good video instructions. Removing the bumper cover made it easier for a rookie to figure out what to do
Very helpful. Thank you for taking the time to do a step by step demonstration. Will make my repairs much easier!
THX for the assist. Lot more to changing a headlight assembly nowadays.
On my car, the part at the top of the bumper with the chrome Honda logo was very easy to pull off. It's just held on by those stupid plastic clips. So be very gentle when pushing or pulling on the bumper to not pop this off and damage the existing plastic clips. Also don't forget you'll need to aim your headlights after you get the new ones in and that's a whole separate endeavor thanks to where Honda crammed in the battery and cables on the driver's side.
Your video is the best one for this procedure. You show some better details than the video I first used to accomplish this today. This is overall easy job, people should purchase some extra retainer clips for old vehicles, I found out of the roughly 14 total clips, uppers and lower, that approximately 4 were in bad shape and crumbled when removed. So if one does this job go to a parts store and have a few extra new black retainer clips, it will make job way easier. One person can do this job, it does help when reinstalling bumper to have one added set of hands just to get the bumper lined up properly, it is very flexible, one person can accomplish this, just takes some patience. No need to rush the job, having an electric screw gun with socket attachment greatly speeds up the task! This is the best video, wish I had found this before doing the job, the video I had referred to from another You Tuber lacked the great detail you provide here and great video framing! Thanks much for this video! I did google for front right passenger headlamp assembly for 2003 Accord LX, and bought whole assembly for $44 and it even included all new lamps already installed!!! If you bought through dealer price would be hundreds for new assembly!! CarParts DOT com is whom I used, and they have excellent prices for these lamp assemblies!
Thank you so much! Was able to change both headlight assemblies on my 2005 Accord because of your video.
Glad it helped 👍🏼
Excellent video assist. Watched your video twice before replacing both light units on my 2005 Honda Accord over the 2020 Thanksgiving holiday weekend. No major problems and no major screw-ups. Couldn't and wouldn't have done this without your instructions and advice.
Nice work
Great pace of teaching, thanks.
Just got mine done. I could not get out the two star type push pins out. Had to break them. Thanks this video helped out a lot.
This was excellent. Just wish you had a shot at the end to show the results for comparison. Thanks
Joe Bennett my bad, next time 👍🏼
Good clear instructions, I just replaced my lights using this and everything went smooth, thank you
Thanks for all the honda vids u made man really helped me out 👍💪 these past 2 years
I'm glad we could help :) I'm keeping the Honda Accord, so there will be future videos of the Honda Accord.
Very good video even in 2020. You definitely make it look pretty smooth. You should have shown us the front end at the end to see them nice new lights.
I put TYC brand on my 06. They fit well and after adjustment they shine pretty well; however, the driver side pattern has a little funny cut off pattern on top. I also installed DEPO brand oem fogs since I had to remove the bumper anyways.
your so chill.... thank you for a great vid!
great video! helped a lot. thanks for the description note; I did the swap without pulling off the bumper. maybe put the text into the video at the beginning.
Thank you so much just did my 2006 honda acoord... GREAT VIDEO 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Thanks, a great video with great details! Just finished my 04!
Another great detailed video. Thanks alot guys
Thank you! This was very helpful.
Thank you
thx for the help got the job done
yo my man thanks a bunch top notch vid bro. i like the relaxing hmming like its gonns be ok
Very good job! thank you!
Great instructions and surprisingly good asmr...
I just did mine and it was about the same, but I didn't have to disconnect the bottom of the bumper completely to get access to the headlights. I didn't think that the old ones were that bad until I compared them. I'll find out tonight how much of a difference it makes. 06 accord exl 2.4 liter. I got for my daughter when she turned 16 and I think I'm gonna take it from her and give her my 14 accord. Anyway thanks for the excellent video
Np
Great video! Thanks for the help!
Just wet sand with a 1k grit, 2k grit, then smooth out with a 3k grit(optional), compound, machine polish, then finish off with wax. Will last for years, and you won’t have to go through all this.
Great video! How long does it approximately take?
Great job!!
Thank you for this video!
Glad it helped :)
Great video~
thanks!
Hey I just put new bulbs in my 2007 Honda Accord but the I think there in the wrong socket ! Like my regular lights come on where the bright lights pose to be any help ? They won’t go on the right one it maybe has to do with those screws
Just seen this video how are those light holding up, are they still clear? Is this a 4dr ,should of three the fog light in since you took off bumper.
Very Helpful!
Hey man, great video! For the radiator support cover removal, those two plastic phillips-head screws just keep spinning for me and I'm unable to remove them. Is there any other way to get them out? Thanks
nice very helpful!
You can do this while leaving the bottom of bumper attatched
Hey man, thanks so much for your videos--you're a huge help! Do you have any plans on changing your headlight bulbs to LEDs any time soon? Just wondering because I've been thinking about it, but wanted to see how it looks before making a dumb decision. :-)
LED bulbs? I think we did one for the civic, it's kinda the same thing. Did you wanted to look brighter or just the looks of the color?
Thank you for this excellent presentation! I purchased the new housings on Amazon for our '07 Accord and your instructions were spot on! I don't know if these can be adjusted horizontally or vertically, do you? If so, do you know how? Thanks again.
Which set did you go with? Have they started to peel or turn yellow yet? I have an 07 and I think I need to replace mine. But the OEMs are really expensive.
@@tehxii7706 They still look great and no peeling or obvious discoloring. I'll need to look up the brand. I'll let you know.
Excellent and very useful video. I seem to have missed any cuts, abrasions and bruises and all the cussing and yelling at the car, its engineers and references to their parents lineage. Did you edit that out or did I miss them. My wife would not think that I actually did the work unless she hears that.
🤣😂🤣
@nutzaboutbolts is there any Headlight beam adjustment needed? If so, will you be posting a video on how to do that?
I think we'll be filming this friday for it but for sure we'll talk about headlight adjustment. This install was plug and play.
Cool vid!!.. how about showing us how to install a jdm fog light on this car?!..
I hope we get a sponsored jdm fog lights lol.
NutzAboutBolts hahahahaha.. only $35 on ebay
A video replacing engine mounts would be good
If you don’t have the fender can you install this headlight ?
Quick question do u need to bolt the bracket to headlight i had fender vender and when i put it together is not lining up right so is it possibly u leave it out?
My Accord is the same year. I cleaned the lenses then swapped to led bulbs. For some reason, the factory setup is horrible. Even the 2007 Acura TL projectors glare but don’t put much light on the road in front of the car.
using this video to replace my bumper lol
So it's been almost a year. Are you still happy with these? Getting ready to buy some myself...
Yep, way better than my hazed headlight assembly lol
OLA, CAN YOU HELP ME?
WHAT IS THE FRONT "IMPACT SENSOR" LOCATION
Mine has moisture in it do u reckon I should try to fix or buy new one
wahh Taoo buy new ones.
How have these headlights held up? Have you had any hazing or any other problems?
I had aftermarket headlights like the in the video. The coating gets scratched easily and some begin to peel. I had to buy the OEM headlights used but in amazing condition for their age.
will this head lens fit my 2006 honda accord let me know thank
yes. Ours a 2006 Honda Accord.
It would have been cool If you restored the old light and compare the look compared to the new light. I'ma restore mine for the second time very soon. I want to sell the car within half a year so I want to make It look It's best. I'ma detail the interior myself as well.
Are you still happy with these headlights? Thinking about replacing the front headlights on my 2007.
Chris S yep, still loving it, no issues with it
"it doesn't last that long" because you only shave off the yellow layer, you also need to protect it by spraying a UV protectant ....
I never had nay problems.
I watched this video to see the hidden bolts and whatnot so I don't damage anything by forcefully pulling on them.
do a restoration on the head light and spray some headlight clear coat on it and they will last like another 4,5 years . just remember to spray the clear coat after maybe 4 months.
is it possible to just replace the lens and not the whole assembly?
No. These are sealed assemblies.
How long take to changes it?
Prolly 45 mins
Any recommendation for a clip package for an 07 Honda Accord on Amazon? I've looked at a few but then see reviews saying they don't work.
The plastic clips?
@@NutzAboutBolts yes, sorry, plastic clips
@@tehxii7706 not on top of my head, but oem is the best but more expensive. I’d just use any aftermarket clips that’ll fit into the slot.
dispose old halogen with $12 for pair COB LED headlights, to avoid heating of plastic and early aging.
How long did this actually take you to do about an 1hr and a half?
About an hr or so
Can u buy the bracket seperately?
Hey I need your help!! With my car where can I message you???
Was it really neccessary to take the whole bumper off? I thought you could of had enough room by unbolting the top only.
You can have the bumper hanging if you want to pull the sides away to get access to the bottom bolts for the assembly
The old lights weren't bad at all.
just sand down the headlight. chrisfix has a good video on it
why don't you just get 3M restorer? Plus do UV coat spray paint? It last pretty long. If you do UV clear coat spray paint. lols.
People talk about superior japanese engineering but I didn't have to watch a video to figure out how to replace the housings on my focus.
man you could have just sanded it down , use some rubbing alcohol , apple some clearcoat then wax
Temporary fix. By the time you have finished sanding and waxing I'm going to be finished with new assemblies.
@@johnbeard9838 Exactly!
Honda just makes it so tedious to do anything
These aftermarket lights are not good IMHO. The optics are poor. They do not project light well. Terrible compared to OEM. Plus they start denaturing after a few years.
It does NOT Show How to Adjust the Head Lights ??? You are NOT DONE.????
after market stuff wont last clear cheap material
Normally I would agree but for this year(2006) has really cheap original headlights . I have a 2006 accord with only 63,xxx miles and about in 2015 the oxidation was really bad, yellow. I restored them by sanding them down and spraying clear coat. Even then the inside of the units were cracking. Im buying aftermarket headlights(Halo). Hopefully these last same or more than the originals did.
using this video to replace my bumper lol
