In today’s video I’ll be covering the installation process of the Xtrons 10.1” android touchscreen for all 7th generation Honda Accords (from 2003-2007). The installation of this stereo is actually very straight forward. There is a fair amount of trim to remove in order to access the stereo, but once you’re there it’s a piece of cake! The new stereo is lightyears ahead of the technology used in these cars back when they were manufactured. Overall, I’m very impressed. The ONE thing I would miss doing this install would be the giant volume knob. Most satisfying volume knob I’ve ever used. Other than that great video!
Absolutely, you know that’s the ONLY thing making me refrain from changing factory stereo. I love the knob, and can’t and won’t let go of the knob. Have a Bluetooth adapter for CDC mode and integrates flawlessly. Sound is great. May hold off.

If you had the oem Navi you wouldn’t miss the volume nob it’s a regular one 😂
Even with the radio was off you would just be spinning that knob all day

This is going to be sound so lame but I’m a girl who knows absolutely nothing about cars, don’t have a dad, brother who was ever willing to help me or answer my questions and I live far away from everyone so thank goodness for videos like these, I really appreciate it even though it’s not only for me! For anyone having troubles with the dual climate control not working, and either blowing hot or cold air on the right side of the car, what you have to do is click the settings icon, go to car infotainment, then settings, then hit the little settings icon, enter the code "8888". Then find a setting called "Can", go to the top where it says "75". Click that and re-enter the number "75". Then on the right you will see "75.Accord.7" or something like that, click it and on the left you will have the option to switch between single and dual zone climate control. So set it to dual zone.
Thank you so much!!!! Just one little correction tho: after u click car infotainment, u click on About Device. THEN u click on the small settings icon and enter code 8888. Everything from there on is the same. I had to do a little tinkering, but I never would have found it without your help! Thanks again!!!

have a 2003 EX which already has an upgrade radio in it when I bought it but your install of a completely more modern system was amazing. I love my Accord and would like to keep it as long as possible and with the upgrades now available-thanks for making it look easy-i know it doesn't always go that way but you give me and others HOPE-JD CARS!

@@angiealvarado8876 Yes, I did not order the rear view camera or the OBD so I can't comment on that.
PROS
The interface is simple, lots of apps come pre installed such as the basic google ones. Google chrome and youtube work somewhat fast depending on your connection.
Video quality is not HD but it isn't terrible either, sometimes you have trouble seeing dark videos especially during the day.
The equaliser and other sound tools really help you get the best out of your stock speakers, pretty impressed at the outcome after tweaking the settings.
You can store music , videos, images on a USB drive then I believe you can upload them to the device, then I think you can also use those images as wallpapers (yet to try this).
AC works perfectly cold or hot air, all buttons are functional and work pefectly.
The screen makes the car look and feel newer, it fits perfectly it looks like a stock item. Got a lot of people saying it looks cool.
You can turn the screen off with a simple touch of a button.
CONS
When im playing music I have to play or pause on the stereo and can't do it from my phone. I also can't control the volume with my phone.
When I connect my phone via USB I can't play music (doesn't function as an AUX) so you need to be connected on bluetooth for audio.
Phone mirroring is a cool option but it lags when playing videos which kind of sucks, I wanted to game using the screen but there is just way too much lag on the stereo, youtube also lags by a second. The quality isn't that great either when mirroring.
The screen is very delicate, it already has scratches from what I assume are my nails but they are already cut so try to keep the plastic protector on. I took it off because the screen wasn't responding that well anymore. Worked perfectly after but I noticed some hairline scratches after a few days.
Google Maps is soooo sloooow it's dissapointing. Looking for an alternative for GPS routing.
Using the stereo while the engine is off is not a good idea, it seems to suck a lot of battery life.
When the screen off it suddenly turns on after adjusting the volume or AC which is annoying.

I really want to put one of these in the 04, but people have so many problems with them. So few options for these cars, (thanks Honda) but what there is, quality seems to be an issue. I'd be willing to pay more for a top shelf product, and thet made A LOT of these cars.

I have installed such unit on 2010 SR5 4runner, but that doesn't show vehicle info such climate control, open doors, tpms, etc

This is a great video. I was able to install it within 2 Hrs. The unit is awesome. The antenna wire was small, so I bought an cable extender.I also extended the video camera in and put it in the dash. So when I install a backup camera, I don't have to again take out the unit.
The only thing that is not mentioned in the video is that you should also attach the parking cable in order for few features to work. I will have to redo that part.
Overall it is great video.

@@ennix1629 This unit needs to make a determination if the car is in the "parking" gear. Then only few features such as video, gallery and torgue will be active. It makes that determination by hooking into parking brakes wire. At the back of the unit you will see a connection for parking brake.
Alternative is to go to settings and change the video settings.

Another video I watched, the guy soldered it to an existing ground wire on the harness and that bypassed it. I dont see why a simple snap clip wouldn't work instead.
@@DG-america There's an easier fix. If you go to the settings menu, hit car infotainment, scroll to the bottom where it says "About device" and go in there. From there hit the cog and enter '8888' as the password. Then in the bottom left corner is a button that says "Others". Hit that. Then there is an item that says "Brake", just add the value to be a 1 and you'll be all good!

Hi, yes, please follow these steps: settings -- Car infotainment -- about device --
please click the "setting" icon in the upper right corner, then input "8888", press ok --
CAN type -- click the "75 Accord 7" for several times-- then you can find UNIT optionals for choose.
I found after pressing CAN Type you'll see Temp Unit at bottom...Just change from C to F. Once you click save,
you will have to re-.program your radio stations if you had any saved.
I feel like the heatsink for the unit is small, but I’m too lazy to research the life of these units rn lmao. Great tutorial

Hello JD. First time coming across your vids and got to say this made me feel confident in ordering and installing myself. My only question is, what did you mean by the apple carplay adapter that the owner passed on? Does this need an adapter for apple CarPlay to work?

The cambus decoder is what reads your steering wheel right? Connected mine to the unit & from their to the dual climate green wires. But while assigning each button on my car, it doesn’t seem to read me pushing the button 🤔
Edit after looking: the person that spliced it re-directed some wires, the volume up/ down buttons worked with their pioneer, so I’m sure I just need to re splice

Hi mate, I can see you had CAN BUS decoder. Did you get with the unit or did you buy it separately? What is this exactly CAN BUS decoder for? I can see you used for A/C control. I bought the same unit from another provider, but my A/C is not working due to missing CAN BUS setting. Do you think this CAN BUS decoder can resolve this issue? Cheers

hi JD, recently i installed an android 10. I have seen your video, very well done and found what I was looking for. but in the part of swc (steering wheel control) the buttons do not stay lit, for this reason they do not work. minute 18.29 of the video xtrons touchscreen installation. thanks.
It's a little picky I noticed too. Make sure you purchased the XTRONS version of this product. as soon as you hit the button via the unit itself, wait until it starts flashing on screen and then click the button to program. This should work.
I have this car in silver had it for about a year now it’s a solid car good quality car the only thing i don’t like about it is that it doesn’t come with aux connection you gotta install one. But it runs fairly smooth on the road and on bumps. It’s also better looking than the 2006 Camry for sure.
Google "GTA CAR KIT" for Honda Accord. I have the same car , '07 and it works perfect for me. I love these screens that he is showing but I hear they have issues with the a/c and heat controls.

Question dose the GPS annena still work even tho it's unde the dash I saw another video were the top dash peice had a little cover you could route the wither threw to have it on top of the dash but if it works and I can hide it under neath that would be great
Excellent installation instruction Jay, that really helped me took out the Honda radio and install the Xtrons without any problem. The PST10ACHN_L I bought is a newer model I believe functioning exactly as older version. The unit automatically login bluetooth of my iPhone12 for phone call, phone book, music...as soon as I start the 2006 Accord, but there is always no internet for Map, CZcams, Google... I have to open iPhone Personal Hotspot, turn it off then on in order to trigger the Xtrons login the hotspot for internet. Is there anyway working around this problem or to keep the Xtrons automatically login iPhone personal hotspots? I leave "Allow others to join" option ON all the time in the Personal Hotspot setting. My other issue is The Xtrons time is still 4 hours ahead (Iceland time?) of my US Eastern time and the option to manually set the time and time zone is gray out. I hope you are using iPhone and can answer my questions. Thanks a lot.

@@MosiahPerales not if you have your phone connected via USB that should allow your radio to use your phone directly as a "wifi" antenna.

I've had the xtrons head unit for about a year now and it recently started glitching like crazy. Do you run into any glitching issues? ex. climate controls self operating, carplay display staying dark but audio continuing when wired connection is connected,
Have you installed a backup camera? If so, do you get a no signal error when connecting the RCA cable?
I have been looking at the various brands of these units for my 04 accord. I have also looked at a few videos of this stereo and they all seem to have one thing in common that does not answer my primary question...How well do they work in daytime. The screen seems to sit at an upward tilt, very front extending outwards from the dash. The screen seems to be extremely shiny as well...I feel like for the price before consideration of quality of product (which is also questionable?), I would like some input on some users that have these installed about the glare factor (or lack thereof) and daylight usage concerns/problems/etc. Please and thanks in advance....

Hoping someone can help me. I have an 04 Accord, and i installed this same head unit. Everything works fine, but how do i get the climate control settings displayed on the screen? The climate buttons works, but as i toggle through mode, i have no way of knowing which way the air is blowing except by physically feeling it... the climate buttons also do not light up..
I put it in. Everything works including AC, but no temp control --no heat.
I bought one of these units about 2years back. It worked great for about 1mo, then it got cold and I needed to use my Defrost and heater. and NO Heat or Defrost. the system just blew cold air. and it was in Celsius and not Fahrenheit.
