- Crazy few days the shed front is making me so happy it’s AMAZING I can’t believe how cool it is!!!! As black as my humour oh my god I love it!!!!!!
in 2009 i had no experience of farming or the realities that came with it. That soon changed when I met my other half Roy, I had a job as a carer and in every spare moment threw myself into farming. I had only ever driven a Nissan Micra and had experience with horses, I learnt the hard way as nobody had the time to show me and soon after arriving I found myself mothering on calves to three quarter bred limmy cows. We spent every available moment on the farm between our day jobs. Fast forward to 2016 two children later we moved into our very own farm overlooking the northern Pennines, Laitha.
we are in a transitional period at present and will finally be milking cows and making the final switch later this year, after years of planning and implementing infrastructure we will be milking 120 Jersey cows on two Lely robots. This will be a huge change and a steep learning curve

I am overjoyed to be a farmer. I feel so fortunate every day to wake up and do what I love and even better share it with the world and hope it inspires more young people from Preston to spread their wings and think outside the box the world doesn’t need more childcare workers or hairdressers it needs more farmers.

Hi Charlotte, lambing always fun, especially when it goes right. I like the idea of a small milk machine for the pet lambs when you only have a small group. The shed looks good black and it fits in with old heritage farm buildings. I notice you don't use the full arm gloves like the vets when helping out the sheep lamb, it's obvious not your preference. There is nothing better than seeing ewes and their lambs out in the field. Keep up the good job with your ewes. Chris from Australia 🇦🇺.
Thanks for the update on your daily life on the farm Charlotte. That lamb is really small let’s hope it keeps growing. Is the wall getting a coat of black for the background for your artwork? 🤔 I’m sure you could paint something beautiful on the wall and make it personal to the farm. Just a suggestion 😂

it wouldn't have been wise turning ewes and young lambs out here in Devon last couple of days ........weathers been awful.....weve had snow , 50/60mile hour wind ,heavy rain , thunder, and hail storms......lamb killing weather some people have described it

Hello there. Wild bird population is down due to the domestic cat in this country. Unless you go right out in the country side. You don't see serten small birds. When I was a kid there was loads of bird's. In my life time I have sin them getting less.

You should use a different colours for triplets and twins so when you see the sheep should have two or three lambs
