    I have the same tractor with turf tires and the rear tires are filled with beet juice. I will be adding 4 inch rear wheel spacers along with fender flares . I also like my 3039R and i am from Michigan. A rear mount pull type snow blower is next. Thanks for the video !

    Just purchased a 3046! Won't be here till April 2022. Good video man, I didn't know about the back window. Biggest thing you should of mentioned and noticed was the mower load and go clips, I phoned my dealer and asked him to put those on for me!

      Thanks. Enjoy the new ride when you get it. Those load and go take a little finesse to get right because they are flat. I may put up a vid on it...very good though for moving.

    I’m with you on the right hand door not having a gas strut. Come on John Deere, it’s an R not an E. I have a 3033R cab which I use primarily as a mower in season. It has around 175 hours. I also have a Kubota 5740HSTC with around 1,800 hours that I use for the heavier work and mowing pasture. I am slowing down at 70 so I sold my JD 4850 (200hp) with over 10,000 hours. My 3033 does not have the steering wheel issue. The joystick on the little JD is terrible though. Being able to use raise and dump at the same time is almost nonexistent. It’s way too stiff. John Deere needs to send their engineers to Kubota school so they can design a decent joystick. My dealer replaced the cables under warranty but that did not help at all.

    For the mid mount PTO, you can manually pull it up and put a pin or bolt in the bracket to hold it up. I would not leave it hanging when the belly mower is not connected. I have a 3046R with the deluxe cab and love it. As far as spacers, you can’t use them on the front if you have a belly mower, and anything wider that a few inches on the rear, will hit the gauge wheels. Also, if John Deere doesn’t make a spacer for a given tractor, then they don’t recommend using them.

  • @leejproductions27
    @leejproductions27 Před 2 lety +1

    If you look in the Series Four John Deer catalog they offer wheel spacers. So the argument that they cause problems , is you dealer not wanting to get involved. There are a bunch of after market companies that offer the spacers. BORA is one of the leaders in this area.

    I have a 3320 with loader 72 belly deck and 485 backhoe. When installing the instructions said to take the rear wheels and swap them to make room for mounting plates. This if I remember right spread the wheels 3 in farther apart. May already be that way on cab models not sure but it's something to look into.

      You gain one inch. I didn’t do it on mine as I don’t want my valve stems on the inside, just to gain one inch.

  • @BarattaFamily
    @BarattaFamily Před 2 lety +1

    Spacers won’t hurt your tractor at all but you can’t use your belly mower deck with them it will hit it.

    I bypassed my seat switch by using a jump wire from one side of plug to the other on my 3039r. I don't have the air ride seat though. Don't know if it would differ?

    Regarding the steering wheel most tractors are like that. It's for when you hit a bump when driving the steering wheel will "give" when you do. All tractors have that.

    I have a 3046R with beet juice, 5” spacers and it’s still scary compared to my 955’’s. The bucket is way to big for the size of the tractor. The mid pot shaft

      On the steering wheel. I found that alot of bolt's loose. Also while you're in there lube the cable for 4x4, works much better. Alot of disassembly so you might want to add the horn kit while you're there also. It's pre wired. I got 100 more hours on mine. Also never let the scv unused for month or it will stick closed... $1150 repair.. hopefully this will be helpful. I do love my 3039R. Where did you get the tilt gauge? I've been on 3 wheels 3 times easily.

    Con’t., seal leaks after 200 hours. The dealer said the tractor will have to be split (($1,100.00) to replace the $5.00 seal. All controls are cable operated which gives you zero “feel”. If you could get a nice cab like what’s on the 3046 on a 955 there’s no way a person would want a newer tractor. They have virtually zero low end torque. Must run at least 50% rpm to do anything then the hydraulics become dangerous. Compared to the older well built tractors it’s a 👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿
