    Thank you for taking the time to make these videos of the 3039R! These are really useful for anyone trying to decide which model is the best fit. For someone new to tractors there are so many factors to consider it's really helpful to hear what an owner thinks.

    I have a 2018 model year 4052R Cab, which is basically the same cab as this tractor. I really like the tractor, except it tends to overheat when brush-hogging in 100-degree weather with AC on.

    Great video! Love the review. Love my 3Rs too.
    Spot on comparison with the 2038R.
    Get Ken to send you some lids for your I-match chain boxes, I use mine for tool boxes.
    Ps. If the rear wiper was on the right side all the mechanism and hardware would be directly in the line of sight when looking over your right shoulder. I rarely ever use my rear wiper either, so sort of glad it’s on the left.
    Also worth note, the new models still don’t have a return to park on the rear wiper.
    Again, Great job on the video.

      I use my chain boxes for hitch pins and chains, but the lids would be nice to keep debris out when brush hogging.

    It's been a minute since I've been on here. Great review, Pat. As a 3039R owner myself, I agree with you 100%.
    Now, the joy stick on mine is stiff, but I have adapted. Now, you mentioned the rockshaft, that thing is very fickle on mine as well, and in the beginning, I struggled with it. And yes, every tractor should already come with LED lights. Like you said, it's freaking 2023!! Your PTO extension, I'm assuming it has done you well? Because hooking up a brush hog is a bear. 🤦‍♂️ Well done, Pat!! Oh, and I'm turing my front tires back, theyre stayung out. 😆

      @ElkCreekAcres  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Thanks Rod!!
      As for the PTO extension, yes, it works well. I still find it hard to believe that it's so tight in there, I think it's how large the rear tires are, there's just not much room between them and the iMatch. What else I have found is that I stop about 4" before the iMatch makes contact with the implement, that seems to give me a fair amount of room to hookup. I may turn my tires back out for winter, I kind of liked them better in the wide stance.

    Great video !
    I have a new 3039R does your Lift cylinders slowly leak down ?
    I have a grappler with the log clamp for my pallet forks !
    It works great for fire work logs !
    Except when I go to cut up a log the loader drops or leaks off and that is aggravating !
    I did get a anti drop valve for that and it did help some !
    But now I noticed the tilt cylinders leak off also !
    The fact is the 320R loader is a piece of shit !!
    John Deere offers the self leveling Loader on every Series EXCEPT the 3-Series !!!!!
    WHY JOHN DEERE ??
    This loader would be great if you could get it self leveling and if it would not leak off to the ground in 10 minutes !!
    Biggest pet peeve !
    Same everything since the 20 series and the fact is they sell as many of these compact tractors as the big ones !!
    Maybe more even !
    Greed !!
    The higher ups want their yearly bonuses and do give a ….
    About actually making the very best tractor in the world !!!!!
    And they don’t even make the famous John Deere plow anymore !!!!
    It’s always about money !
    Greed is what will sink not just the USA but the whole world will fall because of greed !!
    Enjoy your tractor !!
    I should do a review myself ??
    Love the idea of the PTO EXTENSION !!
    The fact is every owner has complained about that $5 dollar right door shock since this cab came out on the 20 series !
    Look what Deere did for its customers …
    NOTHING AT ALL !
    Tiny little things would mean so much !
    Who is making decisions at that company? Snot nose rich old men who have some huge degree and like I said only care about their own pockets !
    I thanked Ken with bolt on hooks !
    So nice to have a shock to hold the right door open when I have to reach in the right side to lift up the piece of crap 320R loader every 5 mins !!!!

    • @ElkCreekAcres
      @ElkCreekAcres  Před 9 měsíci +2

      I understand many of your complaints, there are several little things that JD could do. A self leveling loader would be awesome, I had one on my 2038R and loved it. Intermittent front wiper, park feature on the rear wiper and a real rear window defroster would be enough to make me happy.
      As for your loader leak down, there is a tolerance that is acceptable, I believe yours is beyond that. I would ask your dealer if you are still under warranty. If you are not under warranty, any hydraulic shop could repack your cylinders, that is the usual cause.

    • @ElkCreekAcres
      @ElkCreekAcres  Před 8 měsíci

      The problem with mine was only in the forward pedal. There was no way to creep with it, I would have to push the pedal and then a sudden jerk and I was moving. Thank you for this video!! I'm in the same boat as you were. I've for a 2038R and want to move up to the 3039R cab. If you've got the time I'm wondering if you could answer a couple of questions. How are those tires for snow blowing and around the lawn? I've currently got the radials and like them, but JD doesn't offer them for the 3 series. Can you please tell me about your rear hydraulics? As I'm sure you know, the tractor only comes with a single set of rear hydraulics. I've been to two dealers, and neither of them seems to be able to offer a good solution to add more. Thank you very much for your help.

    • @ElkCreekAcres
      @ElkCreekAcres  Před 10 měsíci

      First, your dealers are nuts, the 4th & 5th hydraulics are an option in the configuration of the tractor, they should both know this. At the time of my purchase parts were still hard to get, and JD was lacking hydraulics, so my dealer at no extra cost put a WR Long third function on mine since they couldn't get the third function kit that runs the lines down the FEL. So that in turn left the factory third function outlets on the rear open, they wired that to an electric over hydraulic toggle switch that works independently from the rest and the button on my joystick controls the WR Long third that they added. As far as tires go, these R4's don't do as much damage to the lawn as my 2038R did, but I had AG tires on that. But, have your dealer do some searching, there are several tire options available if they are willing to look harder.

    • @mickey17y
      @mickey17y Před 10 měsíci +1

      Thank you. One more question. On the 2038R, I have two levels to run the two sets of SCV's in the rear. Are these controlled by the joystick on the 3039? I have a hydraulic top link on the 2038 When I move snow I use one lever to rotate the chute and the other to adjust the angle of the blower. I also have a snow pusher on the front. Would I need to hit a switch to transfer power from the front hydraulics to the rear? @@ElkCreekAcres

    • @ElkCreekAcres
      @ElkCreekAcres  Před 10 měsíci

      @@mickey17y yes, on the cabbed 3R's the loader joystick controls the 4th & 5th via an electric diverter that you turn on with a switch in the console. It's a bit cumbersome at first, but I quickly got used to it. I also run a rear snow blower with hydraulic rotation, so switching back and forth with the switch to go from controlling the FEL to the rear hydraulics.
