This HD remaster is a fantastic Zelda adventure that's aged like wine, even if Wii-era motion controls still aren't great and its new joystick controls don't do much to help.

Pretty refreshing to not have to switch weapons every 2 swings.
When you don't have the patience to make better weapons or be creative use fire arrow bomb and heavy crates u don't need weapons
Tbh the chemistry between Link and Zelda motivated me to save her in this way more than any other Zelda game out there

Wish we could get majoras mask and ocarina of time on switch, wind waker and twilight princess would be great but I’m pretty sure they won’t be remade for a while sadly
They were remade for wiiu so all nintendo has to do is port them. Oot and majora mask were remade on 3ds, and they look great. Nintendo could port those too. Cheer up. It could happen..

I'm on the second dungeon (Earth Temple) right now. This is definitely my favorite version of Skyward Sword and that's solely because of button controls. They make the game so much more enjoyable to play.

I’m a few hours in and I’m actually really enjoying the motion controls. Yes they are occasionally finicky but the issues are largely overblown imo, it’s just such a breath of fresh air for me and an excitingly unique way to play after years of “normal” controls. Anyone else feel the same?

@@uziel900able It's attack patterns and how you have to keep on switching back and fourth between going on land and underwater is seen by at least some as annoying. Plus of course fighting a boss underwater would be seen as annoying by some people.

@@ronniewhitedx Not exactly lazy. Unlike other developers, Nintendo tries to take care with their first party games. It is more a bit of greed, as they do not think re-releasing a game people have already played will make them 'more' money than when they initially released it. They have the belief that "If you like this old game, you should buy the old discontinued console to play the game on"

The soundtrack in this game is incredible. instant classic themes that are all new to Zelda. That's an amazing acheivement in itself.

The right stick sword attacks to me are REALLY bad. For button controls, it really should've just been a simple tap of one of the main four buttons. But that's just me.
Even though it is my least favorite of the 3D Zeldas, but it's still great, the OST is arguably the best in the franchise

My theory is that the only reason they re released this on switch is because it's going to play a big role in the story of botw2
It's because of its tenth anniversary. Wind waker and Twilight princess were both re released in HD on their tenth anniversary.

The Zelda team likes variety. After several link to the past clones, Botw and Botw2 are a great addition. Maybe we'll get an integration of the classic alttp formula and the open world of botw in future games.

Demise is the original incarnation of the entire ganondorf line. At the end of SS demise says he and Link and Zelda will be linked to his curse and forever intertwined until it is broken,thus far none of us know if or how it will be .

im really struggling with the controls its not user friendly too many buttons to press just for a single movement. hope nintendo put some option for the controls like normal mode controls like in botw ao that the new generation or younger gamer wont having a hard time
It’s like unplayable with the fact you got to hold a button to move the camera and use the same ones to swing the sword so if your doing something in battle the damn camera won’t move
IGN needs to buy its reviewers better microphones. This sounded worse than a laptop built-in mic.

It's crazy looking at this game and BOTW and think - this was the last zelda game before BOTW. If anything, Skyward Sword shows you how much BOTW evolved the series.

It's a shame Nintendo didn't put in the needed work to make the Pro controller the go to controller and control scheme for SS.

People that are mad cuz this game didn’t get the same score as the original is just plain silly. Remakes or remastered titles should be scored by if it’s worth the cost to play again or it’s improved from pass criticism and different enough from the original.

Wouldn't have given SS a perfect 10 to begin with, maybe 8.5 - 9. But to me, assuming everyone played the game 10 years ago and thus slashing the score is illogical. Many recent remakes are solid standalone experiences just as well as era-defining iconic games. Would be shame if non-veterans avoided them only because reviewers deflate the scores.

If you liked OoT you’ll like this game, BoTW strayed far from the normal Zelda formula but Skyward Sword is the perfect game for any old school Zelda fan!

Different reviewers have different opinions, also times change.
Remasters of games rarely score better than the original release, even if they improve upon it significantly.
