Did you pick up the iPhone 13? If so which one did you pick?
Mini is 🔥
That it is. It was a tough decision
I pick the pro but loving the mini
The mini is just so much nicer to hold
Definitely 13 mini
Mini gang here, best phone ever
It really is. Even tho I am still using the pro and am managing fairly well with it the mini is still the best in my opinion.
Mini gang 2
I need both.
@rj_legend.0001 I know right!
how do i activate the feature that tells you the name of the plant ( rose,, daisy ect) or type of pet ( cat or dog )? isn't it supposed to show up after you take a photo in the photo infomation ? it has no infomation accept my location.......... i have to type the name in manualy
Upgraded from my XR 128GB in space grey to a 256GB 13 mini in Product Red. I just loooove my mini!!!
It so reminds me of my early iPhone days with my 3GS, 4S, 5S and 6S! I am so glad that I don’t have to schlepp around that big and heavy XR paddle anymore! 😂
Jealous. I am missing the mini pretty badly right now.
I`m also coming from an XR. Got a 128GB mini in Blue and couldn't be happier about my choice (I wanted a white one but the store only had the pink and blue ones so I chose blue). At first I thought it was too small and now I thing the other phones are humongous actually lol.
I agree I went back to the mini as well and I love it. Saw the blue in person the other day it looks really slick.
Hows the battery holding up after 2 years?
@@iFaroun Hi! Can‘t really complain. Well, it’s aging but other than that - for a heavy user like me, it’s quite OK. Think I might hold on to it for another year and if the mini has not come back until then, I might upgrade to an iPhone 17 Pro.
I went with the Pro because of the battery life and when I picked it up I immediately noticed that 120hz. Some people will say it’s not a big deal but it is the best iOS experience on a phone. Cameras are just marvellous. Will definitely miss the size benefits of the mini but honestly coming from an iPhone SE 2020 the difference is not that massive, just takes some getting used to.
I noticed the 120hz as well but you get used to it fast and I pretty much forgot about it. And didn’t notice it when I went away from it.
I have a chance to get any phone but my hand is a bit small and it is still growing so i dont know which phone to go for. I love this size of the mini but i use my phone quite a lot and i need a good battery so im not sure which go go for.
Questions:
What do u think of the camera on the pro?
How long does the mini and the pro last u in a normal day?
Should i get the mini or pro?
I went with the mini yes the pro has a better battery but on the days I have heavy phone usage I am going to have to charge either and the mini also does charge up faster than the pro.
upgrading my 6s and can't decide between these two! I feel like I'll always regret whatever choice I make, but both would me a massive upgrade...
Yeah you can’t go wrong with either. I know the feeling of worrying about regret. So far I’m still enjoying the pro.
I’m in your same situation
@@justclaud Going to be keeping this phone for 3-5 years so I'm going with the Pro as it has the better camera, better battery and 120HZ display. It's just more future proof.
The mini is just the perfect size really, but I'm sure I'll get used to the bigger phone!
@@gavinmowat8528 yes !!!
same but from a regular 6, so everything will be a big improvemet. my 6 cant make it throught school if i get to school at 100% unless i manage the battery and dont use it and the apps that i want to as much
Nice video. A 14 mini Pro, would be great.
If only. 🙏
This or just one with a zoom lense
After being on android since the G1 I am going to give the mini a shot. My pixel 4 needs an upgrade and I cannot do a gigantic phone, unfortunately there are no small android phones any more...
Awesome. Be sure to keep us updated.
@@TheAppleBias Will do! Phone should be here in the next day or two and I will give you an update after a week or so of usage.
@@TheAppleBias Well I’m at 6 days and this mini hasn’t failed to get me through a day yet. Some days 5am to midnight with navigation, podcasts and plenty of text/emailing/phone calls etc. I even made it through a day and a half yesterday before I needed to charge. I was surprised when I had a 1 hour video call the battery barely drained and on my pixel it would overheat and drain the battery 50-75%. iOS has come a long way and I don’t feel like I’m missing anything. Apple’s mail client is still hot garbage but google’s gmail app is just as good as it is on android. The form factor is perfect and I even forget it is there sometimes because it is so small and light. Cameras have a weird lens flare issue that doesn’t seem to be talked about much but seems to be a common iPhone thing - small gripe because coming from the pixel I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. I also own a 2021 m1 pro macbook pro and I thought the integration was gimmicky ebfore I got my iphone but I find myself using imessage across devices so I don't have to pull out my phone more and more while I'm working.
Agree - was in same situation. Maybe try the Xperia 5iii.
Nah he was making the right choice with moving away from android 🤪
This is precisely the dilemma I'm struggling with. Extremely tough choice. A Mini Pro would be practically perfect. The compact, comfortable size of the Mini is extremely tempting & it suits my current needs better than the Pro but I'm also thinking about the long-term. The standard 13 is lighter & thinner which is better but if I'm going a bigger phone, I'd want those extra, more reliable specs for the long run & the standard 13
is pretty the same as the Mini apart from size & battery. Better hardware for future software in the Pro. In 3 years, I'd rather replace the battery than buy a new phone. I think I'd feel better with a more reliable phone for the long-term. My inner voice or intuition has rejected the Mini & opted for the Pro even though I don't really care all that much about the extra features. Either way, it would be my first iPhone.
Did you buy one yet? which did you decide to go with?
@@TheAppleBias I opted for the Pro. I ordered it today.
Congrats! I’m sure you’ll love it.
@@TheAppleBias Thanks. It's clearly better in the long run.
@@TheAppleBias Two weeks later, I'm a somewhat iffy about my 13 Pro. At first, it was really addictive. I was averaging almost 6 hours of screentime a day with about 40% percent battery life left. Exploring a completely new OS. It's a good phone but it's still a brick. Thick & heavy. Really heavy. "Hey Siri" always stopped working & the volume buttons sometimes worked & sometimes not regardless of settings. I fixed that by resetting the phone & erasing all data after backing it up but that created another minor problem: There's no notification/bell sound at the end of meditation if the screen is off & phone is locked regardless of notification settings so I'd have to set "auto-lock" to " never" which is annoying. I shouldn't have to do that in the first place & I didn't at first. Deleting the meditation app & resetting the phone again then re-installing the app didn't fix that. What's worst is that the 13 Pro causes eyestrain & headaches & my eyes are already dry & sensitive. Changing the display settings helps a lot but I shouldn't have to do that in the first place. Since the 13 Mini has unfortunately the same display as the Pro, I've been seriously considering the latest SE & a magsafe battery case. The form factor is really attractive. The Pro is overkill in terms of my current needs. I really just need a phone... (a reliable phone) & a meditation app but something tells me to stick with the Pro despite the health problems. If there is some future clear-cut benefit & use with the Pro then I just can't see it in the present. There's just no right answer for me when it comes to phones. I really ought to shut up, stop overthinking & start meditating more.
I love my new 13 mini realistically speaking it will last you an entire day of use for any regular person especially so if you aren’t concerned with 5g
I agree
im upgrading from a regular 6 which if i dont manage the battery cant make it through school even tho when i get to school its at 100%
Architects & engineers will appreciate the lidar, has so much more to it than night photography
Yeah but that isn’t the biggest use case for it. Those that need that are such a fraction and I would even say the iPad Pro with LiDAR would probably be a better fit for their needs for a larger viewing area.
Omg I feel this. I’ve been going back and forth. The perfect phone would be a mini with a wide and zoom lense! The ultra wide I find useless it’s so sad. I’ve had the 14pro for a bit and honestly it’s too heavy it hurts my hands after a day of use and just feels so heavy. Ugh. I’m a photographer so it pains me but I might end up with the mini instead. Man. Please apple ditch the ultra wide! And make a 15 mini with zoom lense. 😅
Yeah I would be all for that as well.
Got the red 13 mini, I have enough time to return it for a 256gb one. Do you guys recommend sticking with the 128gb or returned and paying the extra $100. I plan on keeping it for awhile 3+ years longer if the mini never returns. Currently have 105.95gb left with everything downloaded and installed.
Tough call if you plan to keep it 3 years then the more space the better.
@Apple Bias I went and traded it for the 256gb came with iOS 15 stock so it’s compatible with the jailbreak lol
Awesome. Curious what’s the jailbreak get you these days? I haven’t messed with them since the iPhone 4 days.
I went directly for the 512 gb, lol
Nice. I don’t use half of the 256. But I do have the 2TB iCloud that get most of my pictures off the device.
With reference to screen brightness, the 800 nits on the 13 mini is pretty darn good. Most phones average around 500- 600 nits , some even less . Think the only phone that compares to the pro model screen brightness is the Samsung S22? My pixel 6 only has 500 nits , goes brighter for short periods when out in the sun 🌞
Yeah I ended up going and sticking with the iPhone 13 mini. It’s just such the perfect size phone. I was just surprised by the brightness of the Pro outdoors.
my 8 plus red😍 zooms in way closer than my 12 mini😂 I find myself using the 8 more sometimes, I also find the mini too small for video consumption😓 I love the one handed use BUT having a bigger keyboard to type is awesome!! I struggle day to day on which one to use! ( my mini is the green one, REGRET the color!!!)😭
my 8 plus still takes great pics ( in good lighting) but that zoom man👍
Is it just me or does the 13 pro produce a bit of heat on the back of the iPhone?? I never had that issue in the 12 mini. Got the 13 pro yesterday and it already produced a bit of heat…
I had the mini get pretty warm at times. Usually with heavy usage and outside being hotter.
Hi i would like to ask for 12 (regular) vs 13 mini battery life is better?
the 13 lineup batteries are better than the 12's IMO
Sadly I wasn’t able to keep the 12 mini had to sell it to justify the price. The 13 mini was def a lot better than my 10month old 12 mini.
There are a couple vids on CZcams that show the 13 mini actually outlasted the 12 in battery life
I do not have best vision but I have small hands I really interested in the mini. I have iPhone 11 now. Anybody have any advice?
Pretty sure the font sizing setting are the same. You’d just have less text on the screen.
I have the same issue with my eyes. But there's a setting to change the font size which helps a lot.
consider this, the screen size of iphone 8 plus is the same as the mini.
If Apple made a mini Pro, it would probably be a best seller
That said - is that the only reason why you went with the Pro - just for the zoom lens?
To each their own I say!
I love the mini. I got the 12 mini and gave it to my dad since he loved the size, so I'm back to my old Xs.
Somehow something is stopping me from pulling the trigger for the 13 mini. I've been going back and fourth over the 13 Pro and 13 mini as well and I can't seem to decide!
Yeah I know most people don’t need the zoom lens but I use it a lot. For sports and use my iPhone for top down shots which work best with the 3x as well (so it not in view of the main camera)
I wish they have made the 13 mini with 3x camera rather than extra wide. I love using zoom while taking pictures and normally they would look much nicer. It would have been a perfect phone that way.
Yes!! I agree.
@@driftersky If I had to choose, wide angle would beat zoom easily. Its just so good to get in landscapes, rooms, crowds etc. I wouldn't use the zoom much though I'd miss it occasionally.
@@richardbeaumont7960 It's really down to personal preferences... I like to focus on things and also get the compression of the space... but yes, wide angle is great too for getting the majestic atmosphere in photos.
I love my iPhone 13 mini.
Great video. I’m a bit of a power user & LOVE a decent camera to record my son when he’s playing sports. I had a 5, loved it. Saw apple made bigger phones with the 6s & thought no, way, tooo big. Well then I fell in love with the 8 plus & I’ve loved the bigger form factor ever since. Currently have a xs max & thought I’d upgrade next year. That was until my neighbour showed me her 12 mini. Holy moly, I didn’t realise I missed a small phone until I held her phone! Lol. So my 13 mini is coming next week ;). The camera is amazing & I’ll forgo that extra zoom lens just to be able to comfortably hold my phone in one had & for it to actually fit in my pocket!,
Yes it true is a great phone. Happy to hear you have one coming.
I made a new video. I switched back to the mini. Be sure to watch it. I am also doing a iPhone case, watch band or $$ giveaway monthly now.
@@TheAppleBias you switched back?! Cool, that smaller form factor is just too darn nice👍
It is. I tried to stay away just just couldn’t.
So true the 120 Hz is great but you forget about it in few days and get used to it..After that a display without it seems difficult to use for a while and needs some adjustment...
I never had a problem going from the iPad Pro at 120hz to the iPhones. But maybe the screen size difference helped. I’ve already forgotten about it in my daily use now tho.
@@TheAppleBias ok
120 Hz is a gimmick
@@JohnSmith-zn4uf I just checked the new Macbook Pros with 120 Hz and knew it instantly that its not required. A touch interface as large as iPad is probably the only segment where it's palpable or else on phones its a gimmick I guess...
I think it’s main use case is gaming which a lot of people do on their phones and this could help get Apple more into the gaming market on their computer too if they want to try and put more focus there as well.
iPhone 13 mini is the one that I went with.
Nice I am wanting to switch back so badly.
I have a pro, but that's only because it was basically given to me.. if I were to go buy one new, mini all day! My last two iphones were both SE's. Gen 1 and 2.. just because they were the smallest good phones available at the time. The gen2 was still going strong but my camera was basically rendered useless as result of mounting it to my motorcycles handlebars.
The pro is definitely an awesome phone! But it's also kinda large for my tastes.
Yeah I’m still rocking the pro, but miss the mini. I just love that extra camera. It’s so useful.
@@TheAppleBias I know I'll get used to the size.. I had a bunch of the earlier Samsung notes. But after breaking a larger phone.. I think it was a Sony z1, I decided I wanted to go smaller again. If it weren't for a killer deal on the pro, I'd still be prioritizing small.. especially when you consider that the smaller phones of today are still pretty large by the standards of a couple years ago.
Yeah the minis screen size is like .1 smaller than the old plus sized phones. Which is pretty crazy to think of.
Mini is love ❤️
If only the 13 mini had a telephoto lens.. 😫
I know. I would still love a mini pro iPhone.
Mini is like the abandoned child in a rich family. It's there but is it.
Pretty sure the font sizing setting are the same. You’d just have less text on the screen.
@@TheAppleBias I'm slow, plz explain in brief.
Sorry I responded to another comment in the iOS app and it somehow applied to yours instead.
iPhone 13 Pro has permanently dented my right little finger. Considering selling and buying the 13 mini. Phones are far too big they have become tablets.
Yeah I’m on the 15 pro now. But I still miss the mini. Really wish they would have went that route for the next SE but all rumors and leaks point to an iPhone 11 6.1 sized phone.
@@TheAppleBias Yh I’ve seen the leaks about the SE doesn’t interest me at all. I’ve just bought the 13 mini and I’m happy with it, can far more comfortably use it. It’s a terrible shame apple has discontinued the mini because there is definitely a market for it. I’d happily purchase a new mini if it doesn’t have a 6+ inch screen.
@Sean_03_636 I know sadly there just wasn’t enough of a market for Apple to be in it. Hopefully they give it another shot down the road.
Gave up my 12 Mini for the 14 Pro, but I just bought a 13 Mini today. Missed the smaller form factor way too much
That’s awesome yeah I’ve been tempted myself a few time. If it wasn’t for the zoom lens and my kids sports I would be back to it.
Only 2,3k subscribers?! Hope my comment age a lot!
I think iPhone mini screen looks a bit sharper to me
It has 16 more pixels per inch than the other phones in the 13 lineup.
i want the mini so badly but i’ve heard the battery life sucks. i currently have an iphone 11 and the battery on here sucks too so idk what to do. i want a phone that i don’t have to keep charging 24/7 plus what ever next phone i get that’s gonna be the last phone i have for a while.
Great thing with MagSafe is they do have the batteries that are easy to add and remove when needed.
I am in the same boat rn!!!😅😅😅 I have TINY hands but I want the zooooom…. I literally cannot decide.
I ended up going back to the mini and don’t regret it.
Got mini period.
Me bought 13 pro max because me power user
I would probably be considered a power users as well. But I just switched back to the mini.
I love heavy phones
I am all for choices. Which is why I wish the mini will stay around next year.
I'll never understand why someone needs a zoom to take photos of their kids. No one cares unless they get to play in the pro's or something. Over-rated.
Zoom lense is a game changer. Portraits are WAY nicer. And you can get so many shots not possible with a wide.
I guessed it! (on iG ;-}. It would be hard for me to get rid of the 12 Mini but it would be for the same reasons you mention; camera & battery. But with my intention to leave at&t (it evidently means nothing to them we/I’ve been with them since 2007 (together with my future ex and kid, family plan paying $300 per month) anyway, I don’t want to upgrade and be stuck for even longer… as much as I dig the size, I’d probably would make the same decision you did, and it being so hard as it was/is for you ;-}
