What happened to troy?
@@markwhit , actually it was Troy’s decision to leave and we are all on good terms. Why are you putting that out there?
@@wifeunit Some people are just out there to start drama.
@@wifeunit Jealousy causes people to be bitter, they don't feel good about themselves, so they need to act out.
@@markwhit troy has appeared in livestreams in the live comments, and his replies there contradict your statement. But thanks for engaging in the comments to make his videos more popular.
Troy was given cement galoshes and thrown into the gulf
Donate the fixed PT to someone who needs transportation. If I recall correctly, SMA did something like that a few years ago (for a young lady they knew?) and made it a surprise video.
Never trust anyone LOOKING for donations.
Turn it into a spectator drag car for the next cleetus and cars.
Ray and family are extremely close to Garrett's freedom factory, and Victor's Bradenton drag strip
@@colesteven1123that's right Don't show charity. You better pray to God some day you don't need help from somebody who walks away from you.
The problem with that idea is that you end up being inundated with people who are just looking for free car. Then you have the recipients who expect the car to run and drive as if we’re a brand new car with a full warranty. Leave the charity work to the professionals. The professionals employ investigators and lawyers to combat scammers. Small businesses like Ray’s are better off partnering with a reputable charity and let them do giving.
I think Eric the car guy did a rebuild of an Odyssey for a family as well and donated it to a family. And then the engine blew up very soon after.
I was thinking the same thing.
Quote of the day “stupid safety device is broken again”. Nice one Ray 😂👌🏼
It's a wonderful idea giving that PT to someone who "REALLY" needs it. Just don't advertise it, or you will end up having all kinds of people asking for it. The shop looks nicer after clearing all the junk and clutter. Have yourself a great day. Kind regards from "sunny" Ireland.
Someone said give the PT to a veteran in need, I second that motion. And watching you being sketchy and having fun like that with Lauren is a GREAT way to enjoy my Sunday morning. Like I said once before, you two are made for each other and I'm sure you're role models for other couples out there.
Wife Unit looking at you as if you were a child playing with his toys when you were lifting the block XD
She's so hilarious and adorable XD
Cool thing about being the boss is there is no one to tell you to quit screwing around. Thanks for reminding me to have fun.
'you're such a kid' my favorite line....also boys don't grow up, our toys just get bigger
And Ray is letting her play with his toy, er- hoist. Just like the ay a kid shows they like another kid.
Let Eric do the tear down. He's super good at it and very entertaining!!!!! The inter You Tube content just makes You Tube a closer community. Donate the PT to Goodwill or a local charity.
No, you donate to goodwill then they sell it!! That totally negates the donation. I hope he GIVES it to someone he knows who needs a car.
@@patrickchavez3848 and if it breaks, they’ll expect you to fix it for free for ever….. get the tax deduction and be done with it
@@adrenna123 aren't PT Cruisers always broken? 😛
Agreed. You and Eric should help each other as much as possible.
Just not Goodwill, they take 63% for themselves
Ray wife unit is the best woman you can ask for great job cleaning all the scrap loren your an huge amazing help to ray keep up the good work guys
Use the PT for a loaner.
let eric tear it down that dude is histerical.
Nothing beats a good cup of coffee and Ray being sketch-O-matic on a Sunday morning 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Shop maintenance part of being the owner . Cleanup is a good thing , keeps the business looking professional . Stay safe , have fun .
I think it's cool that you're giving Dave that stuff to reuse. It's like recycling at its basic level/ keeping it out of the landfill type of thing.
She says he's such a kid but hangs around to do it with him. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hope you have a great weekend, Ray and Wife Unit.
I want to know what to do with waste coolant. Best I could get online was “keep it in a barrel” or “take to the landfill.” My landfill won’t take it. Neither will automotive stores or shops contracted with the city to accept other fluids. Though some claim that you can dispose of individual quantities in the sewer in their city sewers, other sites say “no way” and, regardless, I can’t risk ruining a septic tank.
Black gold, Texas tea!
Really love the work you've done to the Silverado! A clean rust free dually it's better then new.
Thanks for including us with your day, good entertainment!!!
For Oil storage you should look into an IBC. They are a 1000L (264 gallon) capacity liquid storage container. Takes about the same space is 2 of the 55 gallon drums. Made the Oil collections a little less frequent. We have a couple for the different fluids. Love from Australia!
You know what they say - Safety is NO ACCIDENT! 😂👍🏼
You should keep your aluminum pile separate. Cash it in just before you retire, good friend did that, received a huge check towards his retirement.
Ray, I would like to offer a little advice on something I learned the hard way; when using any type of hoist, one should never try to pull a heavy object from a direction that is parallel to the axis of the hoist drum. This can and usually will cause the cable to tangle up on the sheave. That is most likely why the safety switch lever at the hoist kept shutting the hoist down when you were attempting to do just that. When the cable gets tangled in such a way, it can put stress on it, and can even cause the hoist to stop working, necessitating one to have to climb up and untangle the cable. This happened at a place I used to work when someone tried to drag a heavy traction motor which was located beyond the reach of the crane travel. We had to hire a crane repair service company to completely unspool the cable and respool it properly.
The load should be directly below the hoist, not at any angle. I realize he's playing around but...The safety device is doing its job. I use a hoist daily & also get a kick out of it & enjoy rigging the load in such way that I get as close to zero swing when the load is suspended.
Absolutely! Never side load an overhead crane. Cable has memory, and side loading with untwist the natural lay of the cable.
That’s right don’t side load an overhead crane or hoist in this case. However, the safety switch isn’t there to stop side load activity, it’s there as an upper limit to shut the hoist off before the free wire rope runs out and causes a two block situation which can damage or destroy the hoist.
At 5:25, Lauren give Rainman.....................the "LOOK!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
“Is this gonna work?”
“No, but we’re gonna do it anyway.”
Florida Man logic.
Okay, so why do I enjoy just watching Ray load scrap metal into a trailer? I don't know, but it sure is fun.
Give it away!! There is definitely some mom or dad out there without a car or a broken car they can’t afford to fix, and would be extremely grateful for this car!
Overkill is underrated.
I had that Trapper Keeper back in my H.S. days in the 90's.
So glad that you have found success here on CZcams.
Trailer safety chains are very important and I'm glad to see you crossing them like that.
I was heading home from a long day photographing an equestrian event when i turned a corner to see a horse trailer, with two horses inside, that had slipped off the hitch and "dug into" the road. Fortunately they were going slow and no harm was done to the truck, the trailer or the horses. They had used the chains, but not crossed them like you and I do. So long as they are not left too loose, crossed chains will "catch" the trailer tongue and very probably prevent it from digging into the pavement, which can flip a trailer travelling at speed.
I stopped and helped the ladies with the horse trailer, showed them how to use the chains and they were soon on their way again. (I don't recall why the trailer slipped off the hitch, maybe they had forgotten to latch and pin it.)
Always nice to see Lauren. (doesn't need make up)
The winch. You get what you pay for.
Use the pt for a customer loaner car and a parts getter. 😂 be a dope lil billboard for your garage. Gorilla marketing. 💪🏼😎👍🏼
Brilliant video and watching a fantastic couple working together
As a 60+ year old who is living in constant pain due to decades of bad lifting practices over 25 years as a fireman I say use the winch as much as possible, plus it looks like fun.
That was a fun video Ray. Thanks for posting.
Ms Lauren has that “ what the hell are we doing here” look going on. 😂
Its a TRAPPER KEEPER!!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂 A blast from the past, like totally!!!❤🍻
Lauren mentioned about steel toe testing, myth busters did steel toe tests and they were very revealing. One test rolled the cap which would cut the foot in half which it did for there ballistic jell feet so she has a very good point regarding steel toe testing.
A good Florida Sunday morning to you sir! God bless. I've always wanted to make a table that includes an engine block as a foot.
ALWAYS check your trailer hitch connection, even if someone very experienced hooked it up for you. I once rented a U-Haul 12' trailer and loaded and towed it about a hundred miles where I unloaded it and went to a motel. At the motel I crossed a speed bunp and the trailer disconnected from the hitch. The chains caught it and with a little care I was able to back the trailer up against a cement curb where I left it until the next morning when a motel employee helped me put it back on the hitch. The guy at U-Haul did not tighten the hitch at all. I did not make that mistake again.
Definitely send it to eric for the tear down. He is entertaining and knows miata engines inside and out. Miata is a big hobby of his.
4:05 Front wing was dented in the video from 10 months back.
Send the engine to Eric! He's the best at the teardowns! My favorite CZcamsr besides RainMan Ray....😎
It was nice for a change to see you doing some yardwork around your shop.form me as a customer,a clean shop area makes a good taste of quality of work too.

You just crack me up,but in a nice way.
Taught my four children “mirrors don’t lie”… It’s always enjoyable to watch your children jumping into someone’s vehicle to back up their camper/trailer for them.
I love the old school trapper keeper!!!
Yes, absolutely send the engine to Eric, the “I do cars” guy. 😅
12:15 Round One, FIGHT!!! Lol
Ray, on some videos like these, you need to play the osha violations parody song. Love what yer doing, keep up the great work and congrats on the 1 yr anniversary of your shop!
Ray looks at his sexy wife unit and seconds later Ray says gotta turn on the fan, it's getting warm in here! 😮😂😂🎉🎉
In my area the aluminum scrap that contains iron goes for about 4 cents per pound more than regular steel.
BTW, you should separate out your rotors and flywheels. IDK about in FL, but here in Vegas, we get a lot more for them from the recyclers than I get for bulk metal.
16:05 I tested my composite toe boots one time.
Had a buddy whack my foot with a hammer(5lb mini sledge)
Broke my big toe that day.
Little did I know my buddy was gonna give his swing all the beans....
C L E A R L Y -- the wife unit is VERY addapted to being your business manager and that's no simple task. Able, trustable, adaptable, reliable, perfect! She's the backbone that clears the way for you to do what you do best. In many cases, the wife grows restless after the babies have grown and they question whether they still have that allure that was so magical when they were sexy young. @Rainmanray you should use that PT cruiser as a shop rental. Might make some extra money.
Ray, a lot of shops north and east take their waste oil and use it as heating oil in the winter.
I find myself enjoying your videos so much.
that was a nice Trapper Keeper
Ray is clearly punching above his weight with Mrs Ray.
Love how every thing in the wrenching world is elevated in time.
For the PT Cruiser, I would use it as a shop vehicle (if you need that and as for the Miata engine, maybe a collab video with I do cars. Loving this video as I do the others.
Fun with Ray and Lauren...!
I can agree, backup cameras cause some problems, but I still installed one on my camry cause I can’t see little people over my trunk. It is very narrow angle though and forces you to use the mirrors
Hey, thanks Ray, this one arrived just in time for me to watch before bed.
thankyou Ray that was a welcome relaxed upload,,and it all looks much tidier,,👍👍
I would check if your area National Public Radio affiliate station has the a desire to receive old car donations. In my area they still have, although there is no Tom and Ray Magliozzi Car Radio show any more. As it happens, I donated one old car once, when Tom was still alive. Got $1050 tax benefit for it.
In the seventies we used to sell our waste oil but had to pay someone to take our scrap metal.
Ten years later we could sell the scrap metal but had to pay someone to take our waste oil.
Next time you’re at the Walmart get yourself some nylon slings. They sell decent ones there. The ones at truck stops or tool suppliers are better but for your purpose the cheapos are fine.
Holy crap, that dude from the waste oil company looked like he was chisled from marble. Daaaaamn
Yes yes Rainman Ray, donate that thing to your Buddy, it’s an educational thing for people
Pt cruiser, give it away to a local family in need for transportation. Tax deduction 😊
Have you ever used Strongway Adjustable Gantry Crane, 2000-Lb.
Thank you for being you
That Peterbuilt must be a pain to back with the crazy long wheelbase.
Eric, for sure. Up here in Minnesota, I put the hitch on my 2016 F550 when it was new. The only way to get it back off now is a torch! Minnesota lock tight, aka. Rust!
At the machine shop I work at, we take used waste oil to burn in the winter in our heater! Free fuel for a cold Wisconsin winter!
1:35 yessssss you should definitely send that engine to Eric, I’d love to see a tear down of that engine
Always enjoy your videos Ray
The winch uses the bracket as an auto stop feature. If you lift straight up the cable will not activate the auto stop until the cable is fully retracted and the round black bumper pushes the bracket up causing the winch to stop.
It's double purpose, auto stop and safety
Lauren can kick the vermouth, but steel toes are very good up to a certain weight, then they pose a worse risk with heavier objects.
Pulling your foot back is the neat trick.
Rocking the Trapper Keeper
how much of the waste "oil" is brake cleaner? at least 60%😉 ANOTHER!!!!!!!
Happy Sunday Ray. Yes let Eric tear down the engine. He should call you during the breakdown to let you do the history of the engine.
I like the idea of a collaboration between you and Eric O😊😊
'the Tesla generators'. So true
Here in Virginia we use Clean Burn systems to get rid of the used oil.
Give the PT Cruiser to someone you really hate.😂
Still more exciting than watching Scotty yell and scream while shooing away bugs and calling us stupid.

I tried watching Scotty a couple of times but all he does is talk smack about every make of vehicle except Toyota's. He must be getting paid off by Toyota to shill for them on his channel.
You should both do the tear down. You guys are both entertaining. I want to see you use old blue.
Let Eric do it!
I’d like to see him give you credit for the for the motor!
Ray you are just having fun. The lift has a safety built into it for side pulls , vertical lift are best ,Harbor Freight probably has some chokers too. Maybe tell the machine shop you are donating the pt to a vet they may donate their time. The Miata motor ,yes donate it to I do cars that’s cool Eric will like it. Have a good day
On the note on dumping into the water ,, I had a neighbor that use to spray the grass between his wood panel fence and his chainlink fence with oil
Hey Ray, The current configuration of the crane power and setup is merely a proof of concept and testing purposes only and not the final configuration! 👍💪🤣🤫
Send it, full send
Yes Eric
That's what I do in Australia collect the waste oil from workshops
Some cleanout your doing ,assuming you get some cash for the scrap metal your recycling.
When we had to dump oil we had to pay Euro 300 to get rid of it and get a cert.
Lauren is so stunning and not needing makeup.
Note for winch place objects in its lift area..
Great video of laughs.
