A great steelbook for sure and probably a bit of an underrated movie. When I was younger I didn’t love it but understanding more about baseball and the league as well as owners of teams, I can appreciate it a bit more now.
I will say the bluray looks pretty good. I’m planning to do a “side by side” comparison soon so I can really see the differences. For me at least, that is the only way for me to really tell how much better the 4k is over the blu ray. I went back and watched some of the bluray and was surprised at how deep and rich the colors were for a blu ray from 2009.
Quick sidebar the statue in the very first scene of the film known as the “Guardian” of rhe city of Cleveland is now what the team is named after. There are two of them (one on each side of the bridge leading into downtown) in which the team chose to change their name to (Cleveland Guardians). I found that rather “ironic” to be right at the beginning of the film and the very first shot.
I live outside of Cleveland so I have a bit more context to the whole thing…
But great review brother as always…definitely a contender for best steelbook of 2024 so far.

perfect 4k release! corrected vertical AND horizontal so we got the correct expanded picture and correct aspect ratio 🥰 great colors, contrast and crisp as f... without overshapening 👌👍
I really like the slip art work but I went with the Steelbook. I'm excited to revisit this movie as I have not seen it since the 90's

Normally, I'd be paying $60au just on and new releases from the US alone.
Major league is one of my favorite sports movie ever, but I've read the reviews and there's nothing new outside of the 4k picture. I own the bluray so I might just get the 4k digital release.
At best the digital release will probably only look as good as your Blu.

I wish there could be an alternate way to watch the movie with the alternate ending included.
I know it’s a movie, and the “villain” has to lose, but the baseball fan in me always wondered exactly what she said to Lou Brown.
The part about why didn’t she just release all the players once they started doing well.
I’m not gonna spoil the alternate ending in case nobody seen it, but if you know what I’m talking about.
Looking at this movie in my adult years I think tom berenger would have got a restraining order from Renee Russo's character in real life.

Y’all reviewers on YT need to be more respectful towards catalog titles like Major League. I’m probably 6 or 7 years older than you and yea it’s not about watching it for the first time or seeing it in your childhood. A lot of people love this movie and it’s hard to do a comedy about sports unless your Longest Yard, Bull Durham, White Men Can’t Jump or Bad News Bears. If you can’t identify with it today well who cares. Be supportive of physical media and not so negative, but yea it looks good after about the first 5 minutes.
It's just his feelings about it. If Ken isn't honest, then why do reviews.
I don't know why Ken has been sleeping on this movie before now but I've always liked it. If you've always liked it too, then be happy you weren't so late to the party.
