    Great video Mr Sartin - the best video and concise explanation I have ever viewed on You Tube and I am a retired ASI certified mechanic 82 years old. Again many thanks for your expertise.

    Thank you for this. I was about to have a breakdown, my new to me tundra just started to overheat and I hope it’s not the heads. So I’m going to try this 1st

    Thanks for the tutorial. Now I know what I'm in for. I've always owned 80's Chevy's. God do I miss the simplicity.

      I know what you mean, but by today’s standards this is simplicity, and there is some room under the hood and actual access.

      I don't blame you
      All the Parts I have listed in Description are the exact original Parts as long as they have not been changed before with aftermarket.
      Take your time and Good Luck

    Great instructional video. IMO it is easier to remove the radiator to do this job so you can go straight through the front of the radiator support.

    Thanks for the video. Only one thing is fyi, you don't have to put a gasket maker on the bols. The gasket maker that was there if from the timing cover when they installed it.

    Thanks for this video!
    Looks like a lot more work than I was hoping for.
    Just had my truck in the dealer for oil change, rotate, and brake fluid flush.
    They won't do the brake flush because I recently (3 times over a week) had my brake pedal go to the floor and grab at the bottom.
    They claim flushing the very old air-filled brake fluid (That likely cased my dead pedal issue) may make things worse and they don't want to be on the hook for it failing....
    I researched this dead pedal issue, and it may be a vaporized water air pocket stuck in the ABS/Proportioning valve system.
    I did the "drive down a dirt road and trigger the ABS system dozens of times fix" and after 4 days so far so good.....
    But I wanted to get that old bad fluid out to be sure.
    This is VERY frustrating they won't change the fluid!
    Now the problem will only get worse!
    They also said my water pump is leaking and needs to be replaced!
    They want $850 to do this job which includes 2 gallows of coolant but not a coolant flush.
    Does that seem like a fair price?
    I was hoping I could do the job myself, but this is too much work for me to do outside on the ground in the dirt in the hot SC summer sun and humidity.
    There goes my boat fund :(
    I can't believe my truck let me down like this at 95k miles.
    It's a clean well kept 2014 1794 edition.
    I bought it at 53k 3.5 years ago and already it needs this, and my Master Cylinder is seeping also!
    That's another $900 repair job and none are available due to national backorder!
    My 1998 4Runner went 200k to 300k with no failures of anything while I owned it.
    I'm SO pissed at my baby right now :(

      Hey I had the pedal issue on a 07 tundra. Most ppl blame it on master cylinder but it’s actually the front double piston calipers. We had done all kinds of things before we figured it out. That’s what my problem was anyways. Good luck.

      @sartingarage8045  Před 4 měsíci

      You don't have to take it off
      Other than for a bit more space to work
      I took mine off mainly to replace Idler Pulley on Tensioner.

      It took me alot longer than it normally would have from taking Video. I think it was most of the day just recording the Video.
      But I would say not recording Video 2 to 3 hours. Just a rough guess.

    PITA!!!! No wonder damn dealers poke you in the behind for labor charge. I could do this job myself, wont be easy, but only be out of pocket for the pump, no labor.

    Is it suppose to leak threw weep hole?

    • @sartingarage8045
      @sartingarage8045  Před rokem

      No it shouldn't be leaking.

    • @supra1985bender
      @supra1985bender Před rokem

      When I fails, it will typically leak out the weep hole. But it shouldn’t leak at all when everything is working correctly.

    Why not remove the radiator for more room?

  • @RonFleener
    @RonFleener Před rokem +1

    Looks great. Did you happen to use gasket maker also? Or was the cover/gasket enough?

    • @sartingarage8045
      @sartingarage8045  Před rokem +1

      Only thing I used gasket maker on is the bolt threads. The waterpump that I used comes with a metal type gasket. I wouldn't recommend putting gasket maker on it.
      The Pump I used is factory replacement part. It is not aftermarket.
