    The sitting on someone else's bike is the one I have the biggest issue with. How anyone, biker or not, can think it's okay to sit on a bike they see parked outside a place of business, is beyond me. People have asked me why would it bother me if they are just sitting on it. It's not like they are riding it. So I ask them how they would feel if they came out of the store and saw someone sitting in their car - just sitting there, turning the steering wheel and making vroom vroom noises. Not only would it piss them off, they would probably call the cops. But if someone is doing the same thing with my property, all of sudden it's okay. No, it's not.

      Bikers wouldn't sit on your bike. A bike rider would. There is a difference between bikers and bike riders. I've been riding for 40 plus years solo and in clubs and you can always tell the difference by the actions of the riders. As soon as people arrive at an event you can tell.

      I will admit I am absolutely a throttle jockey. It started out due to having a bike that would stall at low rpm (horrible tune) and over the years, it's became second nature to just twist the throttle when she starts to idle down. It doesn't help that I do like the sound of my bike. I'm horrible around overpasses.

    • @michaellarocca4879
      @michaellarocca4879 Před rokem +1

      Where im originally from theres a strip of bars and clubs called the nautical mile. The kind of area where gangstas in rented lambos like to show off. Anyway, one night a pack of cruisers pull up to a light, sitting at idle waiting for the green. Guy at the back has a gsxr, custom paint, neon everywhere, extended swingarm, etc. Starts throttle jockeying so lound the gods could hear it. Very irritating way to go "hey look at me! No! Look over here!"
      Then it became very expensive, bc there was a lound bang and the characteristic sound of 3 cylinders dying at 10,000 rpm and a broken connecting rod clunking around. Light turned green and the cruisers pulled off and left this jackass to push his bike into the lot.

    A lot of people don't realize the reason we used to pop the throttle and rev the motor at stop lights was the "lead" in the fuel in the 50's and 60's. When the bike idled the carb would lead up, so we popped the throttle to clear it. People, there isn't lead in the fuel anymore, a bike will idle all day you don't have to rev it at stop lights anymore.

Do a lot of parking lot practice and if possible take extra classes if they are available in your area. Jerry is a great police instructor, Jocelyn will impress you. Haha! Great vid, Matt! As a 19yr vet Rider Coach, every rider, beginner or “experienced “ needs to see this. Unfortunately, much of this pertains to the general public who won’t see this vid, but need to. The duckwalk/foot-dragger part really pushes my buttons. Clutch control and low-speed riding are essential basic skills that every rider must have. I find myself yelling into my helmet (or at the tv screen at the endless biker rally vids) every time I see a rider dragging their feet or walking their bike when they should be riding with their feet on the pegs and coordinating throttle and clutch in the friction zone (light rear brake drag ok). NJ doesn’t have mandatory Ridercourse requirements like CA, but it should. There are way too many “experienced” riders on the road here that don’t posses basic riding skills and refuse to partake in training because (sic) “they already know how to ride”! Keep up the good work, Brother!
