So as a fellow WA state resident, if I buy a Harley at Laidlaw's, I would pay CA sales tax and also WA state sales tax when I register it in WA? 😳 Double taxed? If so, no way I would do that. Way cheaper to pay for a commercial shipper and have it shipped.

@@deezullram726 Hey there. No, you'd either pay sales tax in California or Washington. Not both. Depends on whether you ride the bike off the lot or have it commercially shipped to Washington State. Ride safe.

Watching these guys go into hock for half the price of my house made my heart sink. That's something I could never do just to ride a motorcycle. Not when FB marketplace is chocked full of great, affordable bikes. Being debt free is a feeling like no other. Riding a bike down the highway that's bought and paid for makes you feel like you're riding on eagles wings.

Suckers .. I did it once .. I wouldn't recommend it, dumped my newer bike and went back to a Evo .. I did some work on it, a guy with a brand new bike with all the Kool new factory hop ups is quite upset because he can't get away from my carburetor evo .. and I still kept it where I can ride cross country and not have to spend days in a hotel waiting on parts

Laidlaw's is a great dealer. I make it a point to stop by when visiting my California grandkids.
Laidlaw started the business the year I was born! I’ve been by their many times in my semi truck 🚛. Looks like a nice place.
My favorite binge watch while waiting for the snow to stop flying! Waiting for warmer weather to start a western US tour in april.
I dont think people understand the lengths a good dealer will go to so a rider can ride away on a new bike, especially with a good trade in. In September 2023, i traded in my 2008 electra glide with only 61, 500 miles for a new street glide and got a fantastic deal. There are still great dealerships out there.
Cant wait to see the trips you make in 2024.

Wow brings back memories. Bought my 09 Street Glide from Laidlaws and actually Matt. Still have the picture they take with your new bike. Grandpa was still working the floor and he was the coolest. Talked your ear off and on the floor he had his baby I believe a 1901 HD. Miss that place...they always were great to deal with. Left CA in 2011 after 35 years of cruzin for AZ.....Did you guys hit the Rock Store or any of the biker hot spots? Next time if your in AZ hit me up Ill give you some primo roads to ride with Harley 😎 any traffic. Shiney side up!

Great video! Loved seeing you and Matt on video. I am from Wisconsin. What is different with California motorcycles (harley) from other states (Wisconsin)?
The H-D SE tuner won't work on 2021-2023 CA VIN bikes. If you make CARB-unapproved changes on a CA VIN bike, even if you live and register it elsewhere, you void some portion of the warranty (H-D is required to by CA statute). Otherwise the same.
I was wondering the same….why would anyone from another state want to buy a new HD in cali? Don’t the CA bikes have a different ecu map and different emissions requirements than the rest of the country? From a tuning perspective, I would think that would be a show stopper
