Johnny Depp Quickly Counters Amber Heard’s Appeal Of Verdict With One Of His Own
Less than a day after Amber Heard gave formal notice of her intent to appeal the verdict in Johnny Depp’s defamation trial against her, the Aquaman star’s ex-husband has launched his own countermove.
In paperwork filed this morning in Fairfax County, the former Pirates of the Caribbean actor has put his legal players on the board. “Plaintiff and Counterclaim-Defendant John C. Depp, II, by counsel, hereby appeals to the Court of Appeals of Virginia from all adverse rulings and from the final judgment order of this Circuit Court entered on June 24, 2022,” said the four-page notice of appeal

Amber Heard filed a notice of appeal on Thursday of the $10 million defamation verdict that a Virginia jury awarded to her ex-husband, Johnny Depp.
Heard’s lawyers had announced they would appeal immediately after the jury found on June 1 that she had defamed Depp by publishing an op-ed in the Washington Post. ”The jury held that the statement was false and was made with “actual malice.”
“We believe the court made errors that prevented a just and fair verdict consistent with the First Amendment,” Heard’s spokesperson said on Thursday. “We are therefore appealing the verdict. While we realize today’s filing will ignite the Twitter bonfires, there are steps we need to take to ensure both fairness and justice.”

The trial was stressful..and annoying (Amber)..but there were some unexpected places of complete genius and pure comedy!❤..THIS guy!❤😂

So did the experts. They were on point, didn't get flustered and made AH's witnesses look like fools! But we also forget that TRUTH was on JD's side. AH's witnesses didn't.

This adorable man was so hilarious during his deposition! I have never seen anything like it. He was very real & totally human, just like the rest of us. He made people in the courtroom & in the real world laugh, which put a lighter note into a stressful time in JD's life and for all if us who care about him, too! He made the world a better place for a few minutes.
This is a great ! He was the break that all needed in that trial he gave a smile to all of us!

I love Elaine's reaction "that was the most bizzare"... And you could see the judge almost audibly thinking 'i don't want to get into this with you. It was your fault, what did you expect?' Rofl it is literally the minimum expectation in a deposition that attend a office somewhere with official recording equipment, and official representatives. And be provided with and treated with a modicum of respect and be reimbursed for out of pocket attending costs. That poor judge had to be wondering how on Earth Lorraine and her team even graduated law school.

He’s employed by the building, not the tenants… so he is definitely an independent witness and therefore not a paid expert. I’m so pleased to hear that was kept that way as it keeps the process unbiased. Great guy! He deserves some tips on his cash app now though for sure!!!!

One reason among others that Alex is so appealing to people is that he appears to be absolutely genuine and authentic. In a world where so many people from politicians to actors and beyond try so hard to project a persona and then come across as being very phony, Alex appears completely comfortable and secure in being one thing , and that is himself. He comes across as very genuine while at the same time not in the least bit interested in anything superficial in regard to people, whether it be their money, fame or looks. His sense of humor and perspective about the entire situation he found himself in was completely refreshing. He conveyed without actually saying it that there are are far more important things in life than two very extremely wealthy people and their troubled marriage and ongoing personal problems.
Alex was life in that trial! He gave some comic relief and it was amazing! He had Johnny laughing the whole time and it was so funny to watch!

Great interview. I had wondered what happened to Alex after the trial. Very good of you to give him opportunity to say something about his life as a father and a hard working man. Also, to learn what was going on in his life and him needing to move on and get to work. He was a great witness, very authentic and quite the quick witted person.
I still laugh when i think about Elaine asking all those questions about Amber's makeup and face. His answers were so to the point and funny in such a honest way. I would have answered similarly I think because the questions were unreal and unreasonable.
I hope he gets lots of cash donations. He seemed so grateful and appreciative of your gesture to open this up to your audience. His honesty and sincerity are top notch and means everything. I know Johnny had to be very thankful also and Alex gave many some much needed, though not intended, comic relief.

Good for Alex, having to help super rich people decide a money fight while he's between jobs must not be a great feeling. If the court didn't compensate his time let alone offer him accommodation he's completely within his rights to be comfortable and let the court follow him at his convenience.
