The goat's there because most llamas and alpacas get along with them, have similar diets, and as the other person said will often protect them if they're endangered. The funny thing is, you're actually right on that. Last common ancestor between them was during the Ice Age. What became Alpacas went south and what became Camels went over the Bering land bridge that connected Alaska to Russia. Watch this for proof.
