  • #Gino Felino (Steven Seagal) is a Brooklyn police detective whose partner and longtime friend is shot down in the street in front of his wife and children. The culprit is Richie Madano (William Forsythe), a drug lord in the neighborhood who has known Gino since they were kids. With the blessing of his captain (Jerry Orbach), Gino is sent alone into the drug underground to find Richie by any means necessary. Along the way, Gino uncovers secrets about his deceased partner that he never suspected.

    Seagal's first five or six movies were *incredible* at the time. This one was probably his best. It's so sad to see how insane he went after Under Siege 2... but he did it to himself.

    I loved this era of Seagal movies…he had a screen presence which was undeniable ..and realistic with the way he handled guns and of course the martial arts. Bad ass movie…along Hard to Kill…Marked For Death…Under Siege (both)…etc. all fantastic!

    Man been ages since I've seen this. Forgot just how many classic actors were in it. Another classic that's a must for the channel is Only the strong from 93. Don't hear many people talk about that one. Keep em up.

    William Forsythe also plays Sammy The Bull in the HBO movie Gotti. It was fantastic. You should watch it. This was a great movie, I assume Above The Law is coming pretty soon.

    The running lol. Me and my brother would watch this and above the law over and over in the 90's. So many cheesy lines that we always blurted out of nowhere. You thinking seagal can act, I don't know what to say lol. His first 4-6 films were fun, but his acting wasn't included in that.

    Most people don't like Segal's later films, but if you haven't checked out "Fire Down Below" from 1997 with Marg Helgenberger, I think it is a good movie that you would enjoy.

    Even Seagal laying a wack Brooklyn accent on thick (Showdown, your Brooklynese is better than Seagal's!) doesn't change the fact that this movie fucking owns. It's just an endless series of memorable ass whippings and memorable shit talking. Good stuff.
    Favourite moment: The obviously real hooker asking Seagal if he wants to fuck, and Seagal laughing and breaking character completely as he asks the guy up the block---dropping his fake accent---if he'd heard what the hooker said.
