I've been using Acronis for a long time now thanks to your recommendations. All my PCs at home. Well worth the subscription cost for secure data backups etc.

People like you and I are computer literate enough to know to do this but it's probably worth mentioning for everyone else before you even start the clone make sure you clean up all your temporary files and make sure you run your antivirus to make sure there aren't any viruses or other malware on your system because a Cronus doesn't care what one thing is and what another isn't it gets them all and everything on that drive will be cloned to the new drive.

Cloning hdd2ssd or ssd2ssd, you recommend use of bootable media, or not, by not i mean boot windows10/acronis and clone from acronis normal software..? Also having a backup file of c drive/partitions can create a bootable c disk, correct? Also what use to edit your videos?

A question that I have is why do you create a boot USB flash drive in order to clone the drives? Surely you can just boot up your system and clone from one internal M2 to another? When I have cloned from a HDD to an M2 you just booted up from the machine that you wanted to clone from so I don't see the need or am I missing something? Also if you clone from one internal M2 to another what happens with the drive letters?

I have an older MB with only 1x m.2 slot and no heat shield. The new m.2 has a heat shield that won't fit inside the SSK Aluminum M.2 NVME Enclosure Adapter and if removed voids the warranty. Is there another adapter out there that will allow an M.2 with a heatshield?

question about the first steps involved - making it bootable...never done that before, is it really necessary? why can't you just go straight to "clone disk"?? I've only done a clone once before for main system drive and it was using Amoei backupper and it worked perfectly...pretty sure i didnt have to do any of that "make it bootable" stuff but that was also using a regular ssd. Is there something special or different about m.2 drives? my m.2 upgrade is sata not nvme, if that matters at all.

Just done something similar on a Laptop with no access to a USB NVMe drive using Macrium Reflect. Not a Clone in the strictest sense but works.
Do a full image backup of the old NVMe drive.
Swap the old NVMe drive for the new one.
Boot the laptop from Macrium recovery USB.
Restore the image backup (Partitions can be resized, though manually).
As an added bonus, this tests that your drive failure disaster recovery plan actually works as well...
Note: This was done with the paid version of Macrium Reflect, however the Free version works just as well.

Used Acronis too just last month to clone my M.2 SATA SSD to my new NVMe 970 EVO Plus. If you did your video at this period, I would've jumped right to it instead of digging between a lot of videos and infos on google to have a proper and concise tutorial. It's soo simple, so fast...like...nothin' happen lol goosh! I didn't want to have to reinstall all my softs again and other customs tweaks I did in 5 years of using the same Windows without reinstalling. But careful tho, you "might" encounter a BCD file error which will prevent you from booting. You would've to rebuild it. But this, I guess, happen in a raaare scenario.
One question @Britec : do you consider better to put an NVMe at the bottom of the GPU(where you put yours) or at the top? For proper Temps.

Hey man, quick question. I have a new M.2 SSD drive coz my old one is failing........ Can I just take out the old m.2 and install the new one?
Basically, i want a clean install of windows 10 and just re install all the drivers on this new m.2 SSD drive but I am just worried that if I take out the old m.2 SSD, my pc wouldn't boot since the updated drivers for my GPU, CPU, RAM, etc. is on that old m.2 drive.

Besides, Acronis is complete garbage, you don't need to be powered off and not-booted to clone a drive, so there is no need to boot their garbage OS off a USB drive, huge waste of time. Other programs will clone from your drive to drive of choice while still running windows, 10x easier.
