- Rick Steves' Europe Travel Guide © 2020 | Exploring the Nile Valley from north to south, we see the highlights of Egypt. In the fabled city of Alexandria, we venture through a market wonderland, smoke a shisha, and stroll a Mediterranean promenade. In Luxor, we explore the pharaohs’ tombs and temples before sailing on a timeless felucca. Then we kick back on a riverboat cruise, enjoying iconic views of palm trees, minarets, and rustic villages. Our finale: Ramesses II's magnificent temple at Abu Simbel. #ricksteves #egypt #luxor

I love when Rick Steves decides to step out of Europe for a bit and explores non-European countries
Egypt is always amazing. I'm proud to be Egyptian
wow. the sunset over the nile is beautiful
Because of this video, I guess I have to include Alexandria in my Egypt Trip this July.
Wish for you a good trip
Well, did you?
Man I LOVE Rick Steves, he’s like the bob ross of travel Vlogs
Good analogy
This is the best analogy one could give!
That’s a great way of looking at it!!!
👏👏👏
Omg i just said this to my coworker yesterday. How lovely someone else had this exact thought 2 years ago🥲
No trip is complete without watching Rick Steve's travel documentries. Each word that he says has a meaning & he doesn't say anything that doesn't have a meaning. It's like reading a textbook. Everytime you watch his travel documentry again, you find new things which you had missed grasping last time.
Great Video, I love Egypt and Egyptians.. I worked with them for 28 years..and great people to work with..
Love from Pune, India..
I would hate to wear a robe and scarves
Rick Steves' channel is so big, Africa moves to Europe for him.

This video was so helpful when I was planning my own trip to Egypt. I just shared a video from the trip on my channel. It was incredible!!
Good to see Steve back. Your narration is superb.
The Egyptian people are friendly and generous and love anyone who requests to visit them
By far this is the most spectacular & honest scenery about Egypt, Thank you !
While many countries in Africa have the Nile running through it, Egypt is where its most beautiful and the history can not be compared.
yes
Ethiopia, at source of the Nile, Blue.
The long running land of Nile and got it’s name when the blue Nile meet the white Nile in Khartoum 🇸🇩 sudan but most of the word doesn’t know or ignore
@@sosiesosie9162 Agreed!
@@sosiesosie9162 etiopian History didn’t revolve around the Nile for most of History but the Red Sea.
Love to see Rick Steeves after a long gap. You are still energetic and cheerful. Keep it up so that we never miss you any longer ❤️❤️❤️👍
I visited Egypt almost 17 years ago; and now that I see this Rick's videos I am eager to come back.
Enjoy the sunset over the Nile and get lost on the bazars it's incomparable. Egypt is Unique
I've wanted to go to Egypt since I read Agatha Christie's Death on the Nile, many years ago. Due to Covid-19, and ongoing lockdowns, we are not allowed to make overseas trips at present, but one day I'll get there.
Rick was taking a short flight from Aswan to Abu Simbel temple at the end. The rest of us poor tourist departed at 3am from hotel. Took the river ferry to cross from the Elephant island, hop on mini bus, transfer to a big bus, finally arrived at the temple around 7 or 8 am. I can't remember precisely, I was exhausted from sleep deprivation, my Nubian room was hot like an oven, can't sleep.
I was there in '94. It was amazing! I hope you get to go!
A true gem of the ancient civilization. Gonna travel to Egypt after this uneventful pandemic.
Good to see "Rick Steves' Europe" expands to other areas.
The footage of the Fallucca looks like the nile at Aswan - it’s a very picturesque place.. I feel like I’ve left my heart at the banks of the nile here, the huge desert dunes on the edges of the river, the dark stones emerging from the river, the white sails of the boats. I wish to visit this place again…
You have inspired me to want to know and to appreciate all the world's cultures. Thanks Steve
Alexandria was a good place to visit but the Nile Cruise was an awesome experience starting from Luxor to Aswan seeing amazing sites along the way

Egypt is so wonderful! I had the honor and good fortune to go there in 1994. I have dreams of going back!
Great to see Rick travelling again many years ago i was inspired by this man and his travels 🚎🚞⛵️🛫
I really love the scene along Nile river. So wonderful, especially under the sunset. And the live in Alexandria, so lovely to try once...
it is always so exciting to travel with him, physically and virtually. this time, he has done well stepping beyond europe. with same inputs involving history, culture, food and geography.
I’ve seen a lot of videos on CZcams about how people hated Egypt, but I’ve always dreamed about going (my #1 bucket list location)! I’m very happy to get Rick’s opinion and see what to expect. His recommendations and approach have always worked for us traveling across Europe!
oh man! i have watched rick since the early 2000s!
great video, thanks...
Gorgeous place!!! Safe travels!!!
great job sir its very informative and interesting
Gorgeous City
As always a great video… thanks Rick for sharing your passion for traveling to foreign and beautiful places.
This is one of the insightful and soothing video I've ever seen. Makes me wanna pack my bag to enjoy the beauty of Nile right now. Keep making this videos to remove our quarantine blues. Love from Bangldesh. ❤️
Welcome to Egypt
The sea front of Alexandria reminds me of the shores on Izmir, Turkey with it's young population, there young people played their spacial table games instead of their mobile phones. I would like to try a smaller traditional sail boat Dahabiya or Felucca for the cruise and also visit the temples at the evening to the light show
I grew up watching Rick Steve's and it def inspired a life of adventure, thanks~!!!
Well Done Rick! 😊😊😊
Extctordinary ... What a wonderful video
Amazing Egypt...thank you Rick👍

Nous passons de très bons instants avec Rick Steves !
Wanted to do a trip down the Nile ever since I saw “Death on the Nile” with David Suchet as Hercule Poirot. I originally saw it on PBS and the series including this wonderful production is still on Amazon Acorn. The story was great fun, but the setting was breathtaking.
Thank you Sir
I'm so happy that I've found your channel
egypt is definately on my list because it is part of Africa's metroplolis and part of my project on African cities.
Oddio ...!!! Che bello è ! Grazie . Spero che sempre sia contento caro

Valley of the Kings.....
Pyramids were looted.
And Pharoahs were waking up in heaven with absolutely nothing.
Much love from Kenya 🇰🇪🇰🇪 Mr. Rick Steve.
@@andrew3718 True👏👏
Ancient Egyptians believed they will return to life that's why they buried all that gold with them and in some families they buried the favorite wife or the favorite servant too their beliefs of returning after death we as new Egyptians believe in that too but we do believe that you don't take anything to the grave and what helps you after ur death are ur good or bad deeds in the life that's it I hope u come for a visit soon alot of Russians in Egypt enjoy the red sea bty I'm sure u would like it too😊

Best travel!
A very enjoyable documentary to watch. Thanks for sharing ✨✨
Fantastic work sir 🙏🏼
The narration, word selection esp careful selection of adverb is what makes Rick's travel video a distinct one. For your Next stop, do think of Nepal.
Hi 👋 welcome to Egypt 🇪🇬

Nile & Alexandria 💙💙
Wow fabulous thanks for your effort
Thank you so much. I'm from luxor 😍
*I was in Egypt in Dec. 2020. I had a great time by visiting temples and pyramids*
Thank you!
This is awesome
Wondeful !
When I was in Austria, they called it shisha, too! I loved going to a shisha bar with my friends there. It was so much fun and laid back. In fact, I didn't know shisha and hookah were the same until I came back home.
Very nice place...
We learn about Nile but not seen original. But in this video we can see even couldn't see in original. Thanks Steeve sir
