Didn't know those weren't Tie Bombers at the end of Rogue One, and never heard of the TIE Lander before. Turns out you do learn something every day!
I thought they were TIE bombers too XD
How does an entire company of Stormtroopers fit in that thing?
The pod which would usually carry bombs on a bomber would hold passengers, so there would be a lot of space
The TIE Boarding shuttles were actually suppose to appear as early as the first movie but didn't make it into the final cut. My questions is are the imperial marines canon?

So could the TIE Lander DEPLOY THE GARRISON?
I had to. I just had to.
Jediøtic! "We stand here amidst MY achievement, NOT YOURS!" - Krennic
Yep, the TIE Lander can "DEPLOY THE GARRISON". In fact, that was one of their main purposes, as well as transporting officers from spaceship to spaceship.
are you kidding me i'm blind
Are we blind? Deploy the Garrison!
Impressive. Most impressive.
2:10 That's actually the TIE VIP Shuttle, the solar panels bend outwards instead of inward like the TIE Bomber or Lander.
We need a TIE crawler into canon!
Spyros Gkanas I hate those things in Empire At War.
Spyros Gkanas Agreed and other variant of ground Ties, love to see some submersible Ties for deep sea or water planets.
Spyros Gkanas no. Theyre shit
I mean, as much as I love most TIE designs in Legends, thse TIE tanks were just stupid. Sorry to say that, but I feel like if you're gonna have a tank, why not make it just a tank? like those hovertanks in Rogue One. Why design it after the weakest, most expendable ship in the navy?
Although I'm curious now as to what an F-16 Crawler would look like, LOL.
TIE-reaper. Ah, yes "Reapers"
aviator kid That was a quote from Mass Effect
We have dismissed that claim.
@@nickklein1194 idea for my tie fighter: tie missiler
whats your guys favorite tie? mines the tie defender!
JazeyHD mines the interceptor
nice thats my 2nd favorite.
JazeyHD defender
First Order spec forces TIE :)
TIE interceptor ❤
so tie fighters were technically like stormtroopers?
dope production yup, empire didnt care
xXx xXx at least clone troopers are better
Mr reclaimer 117 soo true
From a certain point of view...
dope production yeah
When I was researching this video, I only saw that the TIE Lander had been named or shown in canon material, and the vague picture shown in the Complete Locations book looked like what we see in Rogue One. Now that Rogue One has been released for home video, it would appear that those ships are, in fact, the TIE Boarding Shuttle as some of you have pointed out. Sorry for the mixup! Although at the moment the Lander and the Boarding Shuttle might be the same, but Boarding Shuttle in the case of Rogue One is a more accurate name.
Hey what is a Tie fighter you want back in the canon
I think the two are different, as the TIE Lander (at least in Legends) had three pods and a set of asymmetrical wings.
hey looking forward to your next lore play of kotor
The TIE Crawler
LONG LIVE THE EMPIRE
Do you plan on doing Canon videos for the Wing-Fighters and Imperial Cruisers?
Keep up the good work! Love your videos! They've taught me a lot about the Star Wars EU.
Max Kline Oh yeah!
There is no Star Wars European Union
+The gaming Ninja *Please* tell me you aren't being serious.
"Expanded Universe"
Max Kline i
Another excellent video, keep up the good work my guy
For those who don't know, TIE stands for "Twin Ion Engines." In real life, an ion engine was used to propel a probe across the solar system. It's great fuel efficiency for long journeys. But it's not great for combat maneuverability.
i love these videos
I love these videos!
Great video Alex
I look forward to seeing updated versions of this vid, I really hope this guy follows through.
I like the info about the TIE lander. Cool to know that it was even in Ep.V
I've been a fan of the Tie Defender ever since I saw a picture of it in the Tie Fighter game instruction booklet, I was so happy when it came back to the canon.
I wonder if Kylo Ren or Captain Phasma will get their own TIE fighter variants in 'The Last Jedi' or Episode IX
Cillian Brouder phasma might, although I doubt Ren will. He's already got his shuttle.
Rowan Wings you're probably right. Although if they were to release a Kylo Ren TIE fighter Disney and Lucasfilm Ltd. would make a lot of money off of its merchandise and we all know how much big companies love to make money, it's like by far their favourite thing to do (besides global domination).
Possibly! I read somewhere (sorry, can't remember the source) that Captain Phasma is capable of piloting all First Order vehicles. And I known it's not really canon, but she's shown flying a Special Forces TIE Fighter in one of the bonus levels of Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens, so, it would seem like there's a chance of a special Phasma TIE, or just Captain Phasma in a TIE fighter in the upcoming films.
A Kylo Ren TIE fighter has been announced. I WIN!
Yup, Kylo gets a TIE Silencer, which looks like the cockpit section and fuselage of the TIE Advanced X1 and the wings of the TIE Interceptor
My favorite TIE fighter is the standard 1X variant. If I owned a TIE fighter, I'd paint mine with dragons on the wings. 🐉🔥🌊🙂
Nice video on TIE fighters, Alex!! 👍
I love your videos so much I watch all the commercials because I understand economics.
Damn, Oxhorn and Star Wars Explained uploading in the same hour. My lucky day!
This is awesome
Sometimes when you upload a video that doesn't interest me I always watch it and always give you a like to make you happy.
Yes,I have a feeling you will have to update this almost annually.
I hope and pray that the TIE Crawler becomes canon! lol Great video as always, Alex. :)
It's finally updated yay
That ship that you said was a TIE Lander is actually the TIE/BR Boarding Shuttle, the TIE Lander is a different ship, though both are canon. Check out woookieepedia
I've always been fascinated by all the clone trooper variants (by armor type, rank, color, etc.) - you should do a vid. on that, for canon and legends! While we're at it, you had issued a stormtrooper one in the past, but it wasn't narrated by you personally so maybe it's time for a personal update on that one too!
Theses fighters will make a fine addition to my collection.
Grand Admiral Thrawn, it's an honor to meet you.
wow, I love ties!
Could you make a Top 10 imperial commanders from all canon sources (movies, comics, novels etc.? Rating their combat abilites, leadership and intelligence.
the V1 and the Tie Strikers and Defenders are my new favorites TIE variants and of course the regular fighters and advanced x1 , interceptors will always be the best
André finally someone who love the V1!
2:12 Captain needa... the bravest imperial officer that we see. He went to "apologize" Darth Vader himself to save his crew from sharing his fate. Never forget...
I love the TIE Striker and TIE Advanced V1
TIE defender is the best TIE!
Mega Cookie I like the TIE Punisher check them out
My personal favorite is the Tie Interceptor it's an awesome fighter vehicle! ; )
Will always love the TIE hunter
I really hope that the tie advanced v1 makes a return in season 4 used by new inquisitors, it would be cool to see them fighting against X wings.
Tie defender would still be better
JG14 Gerhard_Bar but the v1 has potential, it's a tie fighter version of the sith Infiltrator!
So THAT'S what Captain Needa took to the Executor? All these years I could never make out what the heck that ship was! I thought maybe something like Vader's TIE Fighter, or some boxy shuttle sort of like from Star Trek, but it's really difficult to make out! Thanks for finally solving a years long mystery!
Awesome, can you do the N1 naboo starfighter next and what role did the play during the Galactic Civil War era if they had any throughout that period of time?
I like the TIE Striker
nice and for the tie advanced V1 it can be fitted with a tracking device launcher this is seen in Star Wars Rebels where The Inquisitor uses this Starfighter to go after the ghost and first order Special Forces Tie fighter does have an ejection seat seen on episode 7
One problem I've seen, the TIE bomber like craft in rogue one are identified TIE/br boarding shuttles, originally intended to appear in ANH first but cut for various reasons with only the interior of the boarding pod visible in the final film, with the variant in ESB still unnamed, but likely to be the TIE/sh Shuttle, a variant meant for use by the lower ranks (although the reason Needa took it is likely because the Lambda-class didn't yet exist in canon when ESB was made). The TIE Lander in both Canon and legends is described as a *triple hulled* ship, both examples you used were twin hulled.
The TIE V38 Phantom is my favorite TIE variant. Not only for it's capabilities but because of its visual style. I hope they bring at least something similar to it back.
ngl i REALLY like the design of the TIE reaper. Looks nothing like any TIE we've seen before, but still has those solar panels and gray paint for the iconic TIE look.
Tie reaper was so slowly introduced to us, that we never expect it to be a main ship in a later game
lol just yesterday I was watching all your old videos on the tie fighter and wishing you would do a Canon only.
do a video about all star destroyer types and variants
you should do a video on every canon rebel ship
Honestly, even though it could have had a much more imaginative design, I think the First Order TIE S/F might be the best, because it's got the full package: Speed, maneuverability, defensive shields, firepower, and even a secondary gunner position for even more firepower. Heil to the First Order!
I didn't know there were that many TIEpes! Very well TIEed together
video; despite the long TIEme, I didn't get TIEered while watching it.
Well, I copied this from your Legends video, but at least I TrIEd. I didn't even watch the enTIEre video yet.
I hope we will see some upgraded TIE/IN (or Phantom, yes), or maybe even completely new design used by FO in TLJ, dogfighting with upgraded A-wing of course.
I've not seen a variant of the TIE Defender with six laser cannons. The model I'm familiar with is armed with four laser cannons and two ion cannons. This was a response to the effectiveness of the twin ion cannons mounted on Y-wings.
Please do a video on imperial Rank Slides!!!!
wait the legends video is out for one year already? that was rather quick 😱
Huh, never knew the TIE Lander was in the films. And I didn't realize that was the ship in TESB. Thanks for that
Those yellow ones look nice.
Tie Landers......you learn something new everyday
Oh I'd love to see the Phantom or the Avenger get some love, my favorite TIE models. While not a TIE model I would love to see the Xg-1 Starwing Assault Gunboat enter canon, that thing is too badass to not get some love
I want to see the TIE Hunter return. It has a super cool design.
star wars reads like a history book I love it
I also hope they bring back the tie crawler into canon
do a video on all imperial officer ranks
I was under the impression that what you referred to as the TIE Lander was actually called the TIE Shuttle (at least that's the title in X-Wing Miniatures which pulls it stuff from canon and Legends). Maybe that was the legends reference?
Please do a cannon Rebel and Resistance star fighter video.
You gotta do the TIE Defender Elite and the TIE Silencer now
Your wish for the TIE Phantom is a nice idea, but if i have to choose, i would wish for the TIE Hunter.
It´s by for the most versatile, having lasers, ion cannons and torpedoes with shields and hyperdrive.
Basically, it´s the Gunship in TIE style, but faster and more agile, while being way cheaper than the TIE Defender.
The Tie interceptor can have up to 8 laser cannons if there were two on the inside wings, too on the cockpit, and 4 on the end of his wing point
When TIE Fighter first came out, I played it religiously every day for years. I fell in love with the Defender! Most OP Star Wars fighter ever! Totally devastated when I heard The Creator say anything not in the movies is not offical cannon. So very happy to see it in Rebels!
The Dark Lord of The Sith we're the best tie pilots man.
Grand Inquisitor Sug It takes the Empire's Finest, like us, to fly that incredible Work of Art that is The Defender!
1:21 and the targeting system locks on to the desired target, so its basically and aimbot
Do a all clon vehicles video
Do every capital ship !!
Is there a way you could do an all Star Wars factions legions and cannon vid plz
TIE lander ?? Wow, here I always thought they were bombers lol. but then again why would they need TIE bombers to board a ship ?? well done on this video !! keep up the great work !!
TIE fighters (standard) also had S-foils as of Star Wars Mando episode 7&8, unless that Moff was using yet another model that looked just like the standard one
Addition: the Empire's Special Forces TIE Fighter, as seen in Battlefront II (piloted by Iden Versio)
are you going to do one for clones?
You also see the tie bombers when they bomb the asteroid belt when searching for the falcon in ETB.
Based on the look of the targeting system shown in Rebels, the v1's targeting system looks similar to the x1, and should be just as advanced.
Could you do all Corellian ships please?
I watched the legends version of it great video
You need to include the Tie phantom, because it was seen in Freemaker Adventures.
Also the Tie Defender got An upgrade in Rebels
Good thing we got Kylo Ren's TIE Silencer.
Looks so freaking amazing.
Now it's change into tie whispers
Yo can you do a video on TIE Drones?
Hey Alex, could you make a video on the changes to Kylo Ren's scar in TLJ?
We need the tie Hunter now.
yeah they look really cool but whats the point
TK 329 keep the name but change the S-foil wings to make them more functional. Have them as cheaper experimental fighter to the advanced V1.
finnaly a fellow Tie Hunter fan
TK 329 They work very well against X-X-wing unlie, other TIE fighters.
@@TK-um7mx they were a experimental tie that was built to combat the X-wing
5:03 TIE Color( I think that's a good nickname for it ).
1:08
damn thing looks like the Matrix Of Leadership
TIE Defender was always my favorite However it had 4 laser cannons and 2 Ion Cannons. at least in the games it did, Tie Fighter, X-wing vs Tie Fighter and I believe Star Wars Galaxies.
What about the imperial air speeders mentioned in Twilight company
Isn't the Tie bording craft seen in the hangar bay in Rotj when vader arrives in his shuttle?
finally
I want to see some TIE droids or the crawler.
Well, you may be updating this video pretty soon as the new trailer for the Han Solo film showed a new TIE fighter. This new TIE has guns mounted between the main cockpit pod and the port solar wing. No idea what it's called tho.
where did u source the info on the tie advance x1? all information I've found has not mentioned a hyper drive.
Ultimate Star Wars. To be fair, that book has some incorrect information, but until they specifically say it doesn't have a hyperdrive, I'm assuming it's correct.
ok I use wookiepedia as my source. I looked up inquisitor tie advanced tho so take it or leave it. I personally prefer tie defender from legends.
Since season 4 of star wars rebels will feature X wing, It'll be a great opportunity will canonized the Tie Hunter from the star wars rouge squadron video game. I think the design of the Tie Hunter is cool and hope it will be canon.
I would like all the tie avenger, phantom, scout, and GT as well as it's counterpart to return in Cannon in addition to the sub variants of Tie bomber and interceptor.
I'm happy the defender was brought back to Cannon it was the best.
Oh this reminds me of Star Wars Minute...
