Here - this terrain has always been 200ft from my house.. and at its DEEPEST point I mapped it at 34 feet! This is my 7th time attempting to find my lost DJI Phantom Vision 2 that was downed 6 years ago. I have only posted 3 videos about diving with machine. I have approximately 10-11 hours of piloting time - and I am using an iPhone 11 Max Pro as my wifi communications device. If you are new to my channel - welcome. Usually I post Radio Control hobby videos - and how this is different is that the sub actually has a communications cable tethered to the machine and radio. The model I am using is the Qysea FiFish V6 Underwater ROV Submarine. GET ONE HERE: amzn.to/3c4BSX3 It is able to be used in Salt Water - though my pond is "fresh" water.
Making films about this machine can be difficult as a variety of factors can impact a users ability to do so. For example. If used on a bright day... the reflection from a screen can be rather difficult to deal with. The First Person view goggles that I have aren't very effective either, as they are difficult to focus and lineup. Also, for such a large phone like the iphone 11 Max Pro, the goggles are too small - and they do not display all the information as a result. (To be fair, the Goggles were invented BEFORE the iphone 11 - so me blaming Qysea [the manufacturer] makes no sense).
Another thing that makes the machine a challenge to use, (rather an operator just needs more practice), is the delay in gyroscopic information between the submarine and the display screen. This could be due to a slow wifi, or a latency between radio and screen. With some practice, this could be overcome, but it is rather frustrating at times. Not being able to physically see the sub when it is submerged, the only information available to the operator is what is on the screen - ( both the Gyro Data and the Visual Camera Image).
I attached a GOPRO Hero 7 camera to the TOP of my FiFish V6 Submarine to get a different look at the bottom. I was delighted to see and HEAR the sound of the props in the water, and for the extra wide view I was able to achieve.

I think if he mounted the Go Pro on the bottom of the sub instead of the top, he wouldn’t have to run as deep and he’d get less prop wash. Stay a foot off the bottom and maybe he can see better?

I enjoy these underwater excursions. Keep them coming. Grew up with a large dam on my farm and always wished I could have looked around at the bottom but this technology wasn't around in the 80s and 90s. So this kinda takes me back I suppose! As always keep up the good work. I always appreciate it....

If that was a fish or plant life, it's the greenest thing I've ever seen in a freshwater pond. I took some screen grabs of it and it definitely looks man-made. May be a Mountain Dew pop bottle or something similar. Don't know what color the props were, but if they were zombie green, he may wanna go back to that area.
