I was pleasantly surprised when I completed a HUGE update for it a few days ago - and the test went well. It's time to continue the search for my long lost DJI PHANTOM VISION 2, that I lost in this pond so many (6?) years ago...

Today, it is darker - and earlier in the season. I am able to get out before all the weeds are starting in the pond.. and I dive deep under the ice! A Small area has opened up in the area I believe I lost the drone in.. and this is an early opportunity to get out there and scout around. It certainly takes practice to pilot this submarine - but I think a few more outings and I would have it down really well.

Pretty interesting! You definitely don’t see this anywhere else
Just a suggestion to try. Mark your cable every meter from a bout 10 meters. Lock it off and do a side to side sweep. Each pass let it loose a meter till you pretty much cover the area 🤷🏼♂️

That’s a great idea. I was wondering about a simple way to grid search an area with one of these.
Sweet vid. You should do a treasure hunt with it , at a body of water around somewhere people could throw stuff.
Aaron, you stated that perfectly. Treat it more like flying underwater. Pitch, yaw, roll. Flying a plane to piloting an ROV is very similar. Just think attitude versus altitude. It does take some practice. And very slow, easy movements. Don't do anything quick.
I love it. I could watch you search the bottom of any pond for hours.
The fact that you're looking for something lost adds some interest and suspense to the video. Also using something like the submarine is cool because I can have fun watching it instead of buying it myself and hardly ever using it. So yes, please do more!

When you back up at 13:14 it is uncovered and very clearly visible on the left hand of the screen. Big black propellers. You pass back over it 13:24. Left side.
Under water videos are always cool.

It's back. YES! I do enjoy these videos. You don't get to see what's under the water everyday. I think it's really cool doing a treasure hunt and attempting to locate the drone of 6 years ago. Glad you were able to get this back up and running MEDiC.
When youre able to travel again you should go to swimming holes and look for lost stuffs!

Yes, I absolutely think you should make this a daily series till you find the drone, then make a final video of you retrieving it with other types of RC's to end the series. You can call it Beyond Water Drone, haha.

This is pretty cool I’ve watched divers recover all sorts of things in popular swimming holes and fishing docks this would be an awesome RC salvage expedition.Locate it then have a drone with a weighted line to snag it

Can you add a string to a hook on the drone. Then when you get close you can drop a sandbag on it.
You could also get shots of your jet boat ripping around from under water

I think this is a good idea for exploring the bottom of the pond.
That is a bummer it quit working for so long, I am really glad you have it working once more. Its so different from all the other RC stuff that I think it is worth doing some more videos with it. The only time most people see underwater drone shots are on the Discovery Channel or the History Channel. Maybe practice in the pond and once the virus goes away you can take it out to a lake and see what you can find. Hell, if you get really good navigating under water you might have a side hustle of helping look for things under water.

This should be a series, you already have Gold series, use the season to your advantage and do a "Treasure Hunter" series. It would be a good change of pace.
I also like the idea of a series. If nothing else it will be interesting to me to watch as you progressively get better at piloting the sub.
