I found the timers are way too short on the new map, Hardly giving you any time bonus completing objectives leading to the map feeling too rushed for the attackers
I agree, combined with the lack of alternate routes/ways to flank this map can really feel like throwing your self up against a brick wall and hoping it works.
The first time I played this map I was on defense and, my team held and won on the first point, and I survived as a peasant to the end of the game. I was very surprised when it was over because I felt like the offense wasn’t doing a bad job, but the timers are just really short.

While I agree that some change is needed, this is from the perspective that there should be no change from the typical public matches we already have where the attackers win roughly 75% of the time. I'm glad that we finally have a map that makes attackers the ones needing greater team coordination in order to win instead of the defenders.

I've played the new map 40+ times already and I've seen the tenosians win once. They need to add an extra min or two to the second and third objective
I love the map itself, it looks gorgeous. It just feels like its over quite quickly?
Definitely favors defenders right now. Hopefully they tweak the time allotted for each objective

It looks like a good update. Tenosians have drip now. I'll probably use the saber routinely, and people who have been psy-op'd into believing that the slow weapons are good can still use the falchion.
The new siege seems good now, but as people figure out the most effective tactics it might become horrible. The first week of Thayic was fun, then people figured out how to play it effectively, and the most effective way to play Thayic is not fun at all. Time will tell.

K so if anyone is wondering about the lore, turns out the masons are actually supposed to lose thayic stronghold. Argon is alive. Its something the annoucer says when at the gate stage but since most of these matches keep ending near the start cuz of the short timer not many people get to hear it.
Pros with the map:
- Weirdly enough pretty balanced, i've seen 4 Defender wins and 2 attacker wins.
- fun as hell, i like all the platforming.
- fun objectives, not too well defended, not too undefended.
- i like tossing nobles.
Cons:
- it ends at tossing the Nobles.
-short timer, personally i like a short timer,it gives the defenders time to defend properly. But sometimes i think it's a bit too short.
- there's a bunch of barrels that keep blocking the fucking Ballista near the Estate, i can't hit all these fucking ambushers.
Addendum: I genuinely think the devs fucked up the recognition for placeables on this map, that's why they gave Tenosia such a short timer, i guarantee you if Agatha had full engineers then it'd be a defender win 80-20 all the time.

The new map was basically a giant middle finger to last gen console players telling them, "yeah, its time to upgrade, chief." The draw distance is so unbelievably short that entire trees and carts spawn in like 5 ft. from you and textures literally will not load in for the enviroment and character models lol. This update is rough so far.
PS4 is ten years old now bud unfortunately.
@@cosseybomb That's not an excuse when it is still capable of running games like Stellaris ffs. A bunch of dudes in charge of QC dropped the ball with this update. Even the Razing of Askandir wasn't as bad as this, and that map is huge compared to this one in terms of the playable area and the environment outside of it.
I mean it's literally 10 years old, also stellaris and chiv 2 are completely different games

I added this to my library today as didn't bother checking this months monthly games. I have it on PC so to have it on PS5 is great. Once i'm finished with the other games i'll be downloading. Love the medieval type and lore style games.
I really like the Heavy Cav saber, of course i'm an axe user so i'm more of an overhead guy, but it feels like if the axe had a little less damage but had the reach of a bit less than a longsowrd. It's badass.
Dang I love this new update. They should change the main menu background tho, Tenosia's getting pretty boring

The slow swing time and being a one hander has caught me off guard a couple times by trying to counter too early.
after playing the new map for awhile I say it fits well, a hard choke point section, a big thing you have to destroy, something the attackers have to defend (the statute thingy you gotta push over ). Feels like the attackers need a bit more time on the 1st part, but the map has only been out for a day.
I miss the cliffs map in chilvary1. cant remember what the name is but that was a dope map

Never played Chiv before, but this video was fun to watch. The DRG music goes surprisingly well with this. Also, mushroom! We're rich!
The stab drags are nuts on the cav sword. The weapon overall feels rly amazing imo, but gosh the stab drags. You can hit 2 people like 3 feet apart with 1 stab 😂
Also I love the noble tossing. Great video ziggy!

New sword is an absolute beast dont know if its op or maybe I found the perfect weapon for me so much so that I've been top scoring matches with at least 7 k points all the time
I think you coming top is down to the lobbies being 90-99% noobs
@@willbournerv2259 yeah and the weapon is a noob smasher too but I've been really close to the sweatlords using it and I can even kill them sometimes maybe cuz they are not used to the sword's timings yet
@@dredge0345 yeah i've actually found myself capping mid level players (lvl 50-80) too, and i've gotten a couple dane axe guys, Battle axe and Maul guys as well. I also die a lot to those guys as well, and even a bunch of poleaxe and halberd users and definitely bald messer types. I think it's a good weapon imo, considering it's meant to be used on horses and on horses it deals extra damage, but it can hold it's own.
I'd personally put it in the same spot as the 1h Axe tbh.

katar if played guerilla warfare or (wow)rogue class style. is perfect , retreat after every kills then pounce from behind. best weapon to back stab
What if katars had poison damage added to their normal damage? It would be an improvement that would help in 1Vs1 fights but as it would still be weak in fights against more than one opponent, you would deliberately have to isolate enemies to kill them.

Since the update, theirs been an lot of new ps players like myself that bought the dlcs and never received them in-game. It doesn't help that almost nobody has gotten any support from the chivalry 2 support portal😢
Update: after 9 days TBS has finally email me back saying they have fixed my missing content. I just booted the game up and indeed they have!
For the most part I am very pleased with this release. The cross play is working for the most part too. I do think the cavalry sword should do a bit more damage though. Sabers are powerful weapons. All and All though I am satisfied with the release. Great video Ziggylata. Luck in Battle.

I know you wont ever read this, but as i found your videos very useful for not completely sucking at the game (i stopped dying to bots, i know it isnt that much, but it was thanks to you) so i wanted to ask you two questions: how do you manage to not hit your allies?(i probably get as many teamkills as normal kills lol) and, i know you probably dont care as a pc player, is there a way to do alternate attacks on console?

I avoid hitting my allies by simply moving away from them, often rotating to the left or right while they're on the opposite side, wrapping around my opponent.
I do not know how to do alternate attacks on controller, but if I had to try and remember, I think you hold in one of the thumb-sticks.

Imho,and i had 2 days of experience before the patch, the map is nice, not even particularly unbalanced if the players in the teams have comparable skill level.
Often you see 2- 3 player desperately trying to carry objectives as attackers, or people not falling back in the first phases of defense, getting easily swiped back to the gates.
I have to say, some extra time would be appreciated, but essentially people need to understand there are objectives and that they're not in a team deathmatch 😂

Seems like there are some hitching issues, it's a bit of a mess.
Man, i really love the maps of this game, theyre great. But for whatever reason the gameplay loop just gets really stale and repetitive for me after not even 30 minutes, and yet somehow Mordhau still keeps me entertained for hours on end. I cant quite pinpoint why though.
So he got killed twice by a ShavedDogsass on the new map. Surely this is an omen of things to come ?

In my defense he was in an empty lobby in my region and I was waiting for the update on his stream. Pretty sure he mentioned the entire lobby was try harding, cuz a lot of the people in the lobby were watching the stream.

All of the new updates are genuinely great but to be completely honest, I just wish that they’d patch the party/invite system as well as in-game purchases on PS4/PS5. They said that they would work to patch it 2~ years ago, and nothing’s really happened to my information from then to now pertaining to those issues. I love the game but I’ve wanted to play it with friends forever and just haven’t been able to.

Yeah it's pretty buggy and unstable, which is probably why they labeled it a "beta", since that keeps the blame off of them.
All they need to do to make the weapon perfect is slightly faster recovery time
That's not a good idea, no offense. It's already extremely good as is, weapons need recovery to be punishable and most weapons are already borderline unpunishable on a miss.

They messed up the new map. They made a brand new map but screwed up the timers so badly I don't think anyone has ever seen the last stage. I've made it to the gate once as attackers but never even got close to it. I think after burning the estates you get 4 minutes to breach the gate? It's ridiculous.

Lol, Torn banner is a joke. We asked for literally years for them to add cross platform parties. Literally being punished for being an early purchaser on epic store. As there was no good way to play with your friends who own it on steam. Then right when their main competitor Mordhau comes out on epic store. (Launching with cross platform parties btw.) Now they actually bother to add this feature. The super sweat lords of mordhau will undoubtedly ruin this new renaissance of players. But after about a 2 year hiatus. I'm having a blast playing it again. Idk why we can't get a overall good medieval slasher game that isn't riddled with faults.

I honestly don't think it's a bad weapon but not something I would use on Guardian when warhammer exists and it's not bad on MAA but there are other weapons that fill different niches like axe, 1h spear or just stick with the ol' reliable sword.
I really like the new sword too. I do think their needs to be some balancing for the new map tho

Been thinking of getting this game, but have heard concerns about player count. Are the servers healthy enough to pick up the game?
Definitely not an issue. The game is cross-platform across PS4, 5, Xbox One and Series S, Epic Game Store and Steam.
The playercount definitely could be higher if the developers put time into it, but most regions are pretty populated.
If you have any more questions, maybe join my discord and ask in there. We aren't shills for the game, but I'd say most of us like the game a lot, myself included.

I'm not sure. There are some people in my discord that are good on controller that can probably help.
@@Ziggylata I figured it out by googling it, you have to swing, press block and then swing again, if you do an attack from block you have to swing, let go of block, press block again, swing again all for a feint into the same attack type

On my rig ( Low end for modern day) the new map runs great. PC doesn't even get hot. Looks like shit, lighting bugs for the lower settings, but overall still good.

Finally caved and bought it. (I resented them for not releasing on steam). Looks very different from the first so i waited, hopefully i can become the god that i was in the first. - Pickled Clitoris.
It's got problems, but there's a really special game all things considered.
I feel like the damage should have been identical or at least closer to falchion values because its place in the 1h sword spread definitely *feels* like its supposed to be a sidegrade to falchion. Basically choosing between shorter but slightly faster falchion or longer but slower cavalry sword. I'm also a bit disappointed it got the generic blunt 1h special animation but special animations in general have always been meh. New map is great despite its balance issues (which is really just timers, so easy fix...dev dependent ofc) and i have to give credit to TBS for their work on post launch maps generally.
On the flip side i find handlehits arent *really* fixed but are much improved (very noticeable on poleaxe alt slash, when the tracers decide to function) and the parry box adjustments seem to have caused a significant increase in back blocks. The big thing with new players is that the already poor pre patch server performance, particularly in browser servers, is absolutely fucking horrific now. The browser servers are pretty much unplayable now and matchmaking servers seem to degrade to the same level after so many matches in a row.
Overall as far as the actual patch goes, I'm very happy with it. They just need to fix server performance mostly, i can live with back blocks being more common and handlehits being still goofy but better than they were before.

The new sword is very good and I would definitely not buff it any further, the damage numbers to me seem very appropriate because any higher and it would start to invalidate the Falchion entirely. At least right now, the Falchion is doing more damage and is faster, but the Falchion has the same range as the Shortsword. The HCS, by having less damage and speed but way more reach, it fills a certain niche that I feel it does very well. I think it's in a perfect spot as is.

The stab is pretty bad, decent overheads, the special is real good imo too. The thing just feels kinda slow for the dmg that it does. But its alright overall

The map has serious performance issues for me, at least on the Xbox app version on PC. I never had issues with the games performance before on Thayic Castle for example
map looks a bit washed out imo. also timings are too short (made it to the last one only). desertion areas bad as well but in saying all that i like the map.
