Mace may be my preference then with this knowledge. Do we know how many MS faster? I typically like to stab with Mace/MS because it's generally a good option when you want to get a little bit more distance out of those weapons.

@@Tallsauce111 It has nothing to do with the devs but it has al to do with the server ticks. The devs made a great game but if u want to play you need connetion with a server. I think that the party that payed the devs dont wan't want to pay for more server ticks for a game that doesn't get sold almost anymore and keeping crying to a dev team on youtube is not gonna fix it but in fact u are killing the game with bad publicity so nobody wants to play. The devs did there best but it is not in there hand its a client server thing not a dev thing!

There’s so much potential in this game there could’ve been an amazing campaign or RPG mode with boss fights, where you would actually have to learn how to fight instead of going to duels and getting killed by megasweats who’ve been playing this for 10 years. You touched on a really good point with the shield there. When actually fencing with a shield or buckler, you basically never move the shield away from the area you’re trying to cover. When you attack, you attack in tandem with and around the shield. I imagine the reason most games don’t work like that is because being able to attack and block at the same time would be op. (Shout-out to Dark Souls where some spears do however work like this)

Playing Chilvary is immersive but playing it with Ziggy or other professionals that have mastered the game will just make the game next level. Great job!
I absolutely agree. The amount of not fixing is insane and the updates are also really slow, we’ll not “fixed” mainly. Feels really random and don’t know what to expect. And at points the game feels tedious. Hope the devs actually takes notice, tries to make the game fresh and more enjoyable, by the least, fixed. Before then uploading other content definitely makes sense and I can’t promise I’ll watch all of them but the ones I take interest I will make sure I do!
I'm a engineer main,aggressive sledgehammer. That stamina drain and getting in people faces can break a whole push. And that overhead coming out so fast. Throw in some sweeps and be the cleanup crew as well
I don't play as often anymore, but when I do, it's usually ambusher with the dagger and hatchet, unless I really need to make a strong push or fight the entire enemy team alone. The hatchet exists for team fights because its only slightly worse than the one-handed axe, and the axe is a strong, versatile choice. Very good light attack spam when they're in your face. I might switch it for the short sword if I'm having range problems on ambusher. The dagger can be very sneaky in duels. It was the one weapon where I thought that I could be better than you while watching. You have good mix ups and you know how to use specials in regular combat, but the dagger activates something deep in my brain. I don't fully know how, but I can sneak hits on anyone with it. I'm literally Benedict Cumberbatch waving his hands around when I have the dagger. What I'm trying to say is that there is a hidden depth to the dagger which often goes unappreciated.
I main war club and absolutely love it. A lot of people would complain that the war club is cheap, but I found that it requires you to fight with an unorthodox style and a lot of players just didn’t know how to deal with it. Only in dueling though. I’m better than most at dueling but I suck at everything else.
Awesome video, love the thoughtfulness of every weapon. Dagger is pretty much the only weapon I use in every game mode, mainly FFA. It can be a beast with those specials though, definitely a gimmicky weapon that with time can be a strong pick.
I watched your guide on how to get good at the game and it’s helped me out tremendously, so when I see you in game, I on occasion will give you a higher priority to fight just because I like seeing you be good at the game. I could stop though if that’s annoying.
I experimented a bit with some weapons I'm not used to thanks to this vid for inspiration so I would give some thoughts. Glaive on poleman: Difference is as you say, the sprint attack makes all the difference in a conventional fight from afar. Raider has the jump attack but it's hard to aim compared to the sprint attack on poleman. These attacks along with throwables are initially used to soften the enemy. It means more if you land one then it means you wouldn't have too much of an issue to kill your target as you have less hits needed to land a killing blow. Glaive is lacking on the damage and stamina damage department but the sprint attack remedies it. Cudgel: Really weird weapon where it's like the glaive but without the length. You need a lot of hits to kill Vanguards but less so with Knights and Footmen. I personally wouldn't take it and would pick the shortsword every time purely for quick cleaves to control mobs but generally felt like a weapon when people have a tendency to run into trouble with Knights and Footmen but don't care about the other two classes when they're in danger. Makes a lot of sense, as a archer you're more likely to deal with either of them or a vanguard so you want a weapon to kill higher health enemies that's much harder to deal with of the three. HL Sword: Most of my successes with it comes from ganking. That 100 overhead on the side of the enemy can down them easily provided that they're fighting someone else. I don't like the special at all but it's a nice mixup if you are suddenly surrounded and just give it a try to hope for the best. It deserves to be it's own thing, they should add more dmg to the lights but leave the heavy damage. When swung at light attacks, it should be more worthwhile compared to the greatsword. That being said, I think it has a strange stamina game like you said, it swings so slow that you recover stamina. But on the defensive against a fast enemy, I think that slow swinging can be detrimental if they stay on your face. Greatsword has similar but less difficulty because even though it's slow, it's still managable at that speed. The only thing I would change is simply boosting the light swing and stab dmg by 5+. If messer has 55 dmg on lights, I don't see why HL sword shouldn't be compensated for it's slow speed for that dmg.

Screaming “KILL THE ARCHERS” or “LIGHT THOSE PYRES” like i’m some psychotic fiend and I look so concerned, like there’s something that is going on that they are unaware or. I usually get a couple guys also equally concerned and start wanting the others to “light those pyres” that doesn’t exist.

really fun just watching base gameplay. i tend to get burned out rather quickly nowadays so this is great. on the topic of camera position, i wish there was a mode that limited to first or third person (prob more towards first). maybe it would make people play more conservatively now that they dont have the same level of peripherals. I used to only play first but now mostly play third, but a first person only mode would be neat

Infact, I routinely insult people on this site daily for the most slightlest of transgressions but you're genuinely enjoyable to watch and you're knowledgeable about the mechanics about this game so you not playing anymore would be a shame. The only saving grace with the ambusher is you can grab any weapon on the battlefield, and your throwing knives will automatically come out with your secondary. You basically become a semi raider with 7 knives, pretty deadly if your just probing the frontlines.

This video just reminds me how some weapons like two-handed hammer, short sword and hatchet just exists. Like you can use them but you're too busy using a real weapon. If they were redundant or just inferior versions of a weapon then just give them something else to make them more meaningful. They should be faster or have some special property so there is a reason to choose them over others.
The problem is that 2hh and Shortsword are also "good" weapons. Making them better (or more meaningful) can put them into the realm of overshadowing others. 2hh is a worse version of heavy mace, completely redundant, but it's also still really fucking good.
Yeah, I get wanting to quit, and to some extent the technical issues also make me want to quit, but I really need some multiplayer melee, and the only alternative is Mordhau, sooo guess I'm stuck here.
Feels unreal that the game has actually been out for 3 years. Even if you were to ignore the mountain of technical issues that's seemingly getting bigger rather than smaller over time, the content that's on offer here simply does not reflect that amount of development time. There's nowhere near enough maps and the few that are there are still riddled with balance problems. The only progression system even available after you unlock all the weapons which only takes a few hours is character customization options, and those are still pathetically limited and now are getting padded with paid battle passes on top of it that contain hardly anything and take 6 months to come out but can be finished in an afternoon. They are 100% planning on just ditching chivalry again for another project that just going to end up being dead on arrival and tank the company. They haven't learned a single thing.

I agree thayic makes it really hard to see with all the high contrast lighting. Half of the time i have issues telling friends and enemies apart. If it wasn't for that, I think the map might be just fine.
I love this game, but I feel you man, there is something off with it. Especially what you said : attacks that should not hit you do hit and those that you should have landed, do not. Also strange how my parry just randomly decides to not work at times. When you mix this with having, say, a garbage team that gets utterly stomped, it makes you want to quit.
To be honest slowing back the video, when it comes to the Katars you really did miss a lot of hits (it was not the games fault at most times), yet i can understand the frustration of the narrow hitbox.
I know I'm a year late to this (as I just picked up the game) but when you were playing footman and getting singled out by all the archers, I think it's your helmet. I bet if you wore something less conspicuous you wouldn't be targeted so hard.
If you pay a bit more attention and be deliberate with your choices, you'll get better much faster. It also helps to not panic and slash, but to be intentional and block, then stab for example.
There is ONE more difference between the mace & star. The morningstar has slightly more range meaning if your standing up and throw and overhead directly down it will hit the floor whereas the mace will not. Wish they buffed the mace to have the same reach as the star for that very reason
as for the consensus question, ya its hard to see indoors. The lighting can be really wonky on some maps especially the nighttime desert one. One of several reasons I dont like Aberfell
As someone who recently got into Chiv 2 I found that things felt inconsistent, especially counter attack. As a decent mordhau player I thought it as the way the game was designed and I felt like Mordhau was just a better design. Hearing you rant about these issues made me realize its not supposed to be that way, it is just a broken game, and that is why Mordhau is a better game.

as a maniac who plays on high ping, the hit box bug is a normal Tuesday for me (in a high ping delay way ofc). And eventually, somehow, I adapted the high ping delay and actually play well enough to not die that much whenever i engage in battle. yes, this is a humble brag, but also to tell everyone that you can adapt these inconsistencies to be consistent. and it didn't take thtat long (for me to atleast) to adapt it. 1 hour a day for a week and that's all it took me to adapt. (ofcourse, torn banner still needs to fix these issues, im not denying that. if they want to make a game, make it playable. not leave it half arsed)
I’m glad I’m not the only person noticing some of the servers going to shit, I don’t play on the best connection as is but I’ve played long enough to know how the game works with my connection, hit detection has gotten worse and overall server lag has been pretty trash lately too. Vanguard used to be my fav class and now it’s my lowest level frontline class due to these issues. Not playing Vanguard anymore built my new love for the footman class though, man at arms is far and away my fav class in the game atm. Been playing it almost non stop since level 300

The most annoying thing about Katars is that one needs to put them away in order to access Throwing Knives (hereafter “TK”). That ruins the weapon for me because there are plenty of times when a TK can finish off a retreating opponent or someone that’s healing.
On xbox? It will probably be good for about a month, maybe a few. Just be warned that its the kind of game that will just die. Its full of issues, but itll be fun at first.

I think the Dane axe should have a damage nerf because it’s just so over powered even without it’s throw

This video just reminds me how some weapons like two-handed hammer, short sword and hatchet just exists. Like you can use them but you're too busy using a real weapon. If they were redundant or just inferior versions of a weapon then just give them something else to make them more meaningful. They should be faster or have some special property so there is a reason to choose them over others.
The problem is that 2hh and Shortsword are also "good" weapons. Making them better (or more meaningful) can put them into the realm of overshadowing others. 2hh is a worse version of heavy mace, completely redundant, but it's also still really fucking good.

Yeah, I get wanting to quit, and to some extent the technical issues also make me want to quit, but I really need some multiplayer melee, and the only alternative is Mordhau, sooo guess I'm stuck here.
Take a break from the genre. If you're on PC, try out Exanima.
Feels unreal that the game has actually been out for 3 years. Even if you were to ignore the mountain of technical issues that's seemingly getting bigger rather than smaller over time, the content that's on offer here simply does not reflect that amount of development time. There's nowhere near enough maps and the few that are there are still riddled with balance problems. The only progression system even available after you unlock all the weapons which only takes a few hours is character customization options, and those are still pathetically limited and now are getting padded with paid battle passes on top of it that contain hardly anything and take 6 months to come out but can be finished in an afternoon.
They are 100% planning on just ditching chivalry again for another project that just going to end up being dead on arrival and tank the company. They haven't learned a single thing.

Well it's now much better because the new update just dropped and the HS got a buff! 5+ dmg on all kinds of swing besides overhead.

Ive played exanima on my brothers pc and oh boy its an experience, i love it but once you get to the fourth area its just straight pain

I agree thayic makes it really hard to see with all the high contrast lighting. Half of the time i have issues telling friends and enemies apart. If it wasn't for that, I think the map might be just fine.

Personally I prefer the stock greatsword skin to the zweihander, but zweihander is also based.
I love this game, but I feel you man, there is something off with it. Especially what you said : attacks that should not hit you do hit and those that you should have landed, do not.
Also strange how my parry just randomly decides to not work at times. When you mix this with having, say, a garbage team that gets utterly stomped, it makes you want to quit.

To be honest slowing back the video, when it comes to the Katars you really did miss a lot of hits (it was not the games fault at most times), yet i can understand the frustration of the narrow hitbox.
Its hard to hit with combined with poor hit detection.

I know I'm a year late to this (as I just picked up the game) but when you were playing footman and getting singled out by all the archers, I think it's your helmet. I bet if you wore something less conspicuous you wouldn't be targeted so hard.
I have no idea how to play correctly, but I’m hooked. Sucks to be at the bottom all the time tho
If you pay a bit more attention and be deliberate with your choices, you'll get better much faster. It also helps to not panic and slash, but to be intentional and block, then stab for example.

There is ONE more difference between the mace & star. The morningstar has slightly more range meaning if your standing up and throw and overhead directly down it will hit the floor whereas the mace will not. Wish they buffed the mace to have the same reach as the star for that very reason
as for the consensus question, ya its hard to see indoors. The lighting can be really wonky on some maps especially the nighttime desert one. One of several reasons I dont like Aberfell

As someone who recently got into Chiv 2 I found that things felt inconsistent, especially counter attack. As a decent mordhau player I thought it as the way the game was designed and I felt like Mordhau was just a better design. Hearing you rant about these issues made me realize its not supposed to be that way, it is just a broken game, and that is why Mordhau is a better game.
What games are you thinking about playing? If you like strategy games, check out warhammer 3.

as a maniac who plays on high ping, the hit box bug is a normal Tuesday for me (in a high ping delay way ofc). And eventually, somehow, I adapted the high ping delay and actually play well enough to not die that much whenever i engage in battle. yes, this is a humble brag, but also to tell everyone that you can adapt these inconsistencies to be consistent. and it didn't take thtat long (for me to atleast) to adapt it. 1 hour a day for a week and that's all it took me to adapt.
(ofcourse, torn banner still needs to fix these issues, im not denying that. if they want to make a game, make it playable. not leave it half arsed)

I’m glad I’m not the only person noticing some of the servers going to shit, I don’t play on the best connection as is but I’ve played long enough to know how the game works with my connection, hit detection has gotten worse and overall server lag has been pretty trash lately too. Vanguard used to be my fav class and now it’s my lowest level frontline class due to these issues.
Not playing Vanguard anymore built my new love for the footman class though, man at arms is far and away my fav class in the game atm. Been playing it almost non stop since level 300

Matchmaking is a different set of servers than the server browser.
The most annoying thing about Katars is that one needs to put them away in order to access Throwing Knives (hereafter “TK”). That ruins the weapon for me because there are plenty of times when a TK can finish off a retreating opponent or someone that’s healing.
ziggy mordhau came out on xbox would you suggest it for someone who enjoyed chivalry
On xbox? It will probably be good for about a month, maybe a few. Just be warned that its the kind of game that will just die. Its full of issues, but itll be fun at first.
