Great video! You helped me install the same part on my '19 street bob. I noticed that you didn't use loctite on any of the bolts. Are you not concerned about them loosening up? I know the M8 doesn't shake like the old twin cams, but still.

I have the Arlen ness method clear view installed on my m8 RGS. Why do some Ness installs have oil reservoirs that mount just under intake, amd some dont use those? Thought the breather bolts and backing plate were supposed to recirculate oil, so why reservoir catcher?? Just curious. Mine came with but I didnt put it on.

i just put one of these on my 2019 trike but mind has a oil reservoir and vent tubes is this the wrong filter item 835-523 ARB E.O. D-639-6

Probably some normal axel grease. A bit of engine oil works too

Will I need a re-tune by just adding the air cleaner and slip ons ?

We recommend it. When you add more air to a motor it leans it out if you don't add fuel to match, most stock machines are a bit lean to start with so it makes it worse.

So probably a dumb question, but does the element need replacing later, or do you service it similar to a K & N filter? Enquiring minds and all that.

The element is washable/re-usable.

Shake it, rinse it and wash it with mild degreaser. Let it dry over night and reinstall. You don’t put oil on the Arlen ness filters

I just installed this breather/cleaner. Mine came with an oil reservoir and 2 tiny vents. Does this still vent oil back into th throttle body?

They do not come with the kit. They are just some good old 9mm venom gloves.

I just put a Arlen Ness Monster Sucker on my bike and found out that the bracket at the 1:49 mark was the problem. I figure you have already figured this out since it has been 2 months since your post but I figured I would say it just in case.

You could use a variety of fuel controllers to change the map Power Vision etc

What are torque values on the bolts?

10-12 on the breather bolts and 3-5 on the small ones that hold the filter

What happened to the breather tubes? Are the breathers essentially blocked off?

Rerouted inside the Backing plate. I have an A N Stage 1 on my 18 1200 Custom. The Bolts are Banjo like Brake Caliper hydraulic lines.

@@chrisphilhower6029 Chris is right. Arlen Ness provides two banjo bolts that vent directly into the cleaner.

@@jpcycles i have the stock stage 1 for M8 and mine leaks oil all over my bags. Arlen ness stock set up just isnt great. Those bolts either are not doing a great job or the ness m8 stock stage 1 plainly isnt great
