AUTUMN Woodland Landscape Photography

- Autumn is here and it's time to reap the photos I have previsualized with autumn colors throughout the year. This Tales from the Forest episode diverges from the first four as I go to three different locations to do my autumn woodland photography in Denmark. The first location I visited in Episode 2 and the second location I visited in my Hoarfrost video. In both, I get some beautiful trees full of autumn colors! The third location is a brand new one where I got the most atmospheric foggy conditions I've had so far photographing Denmark. This is what autumn landscape and woodland photography is all about.

Your joy at being in those foggy woods is a wonderful thing to see. Thank you.
Love the shot of the curved road and trees leaning in. The last shot is especially nice. Fall is such a great time of year to shoot.
Your enthusiasm is contagious!
The foggy morning is just amazing, great photos Mads👍
I really enjoy your videos and photography, they are magnificent and always make me feel like I am there. I relate to being in a quiet, peaceful forest or landscape, to just 'be' in the moment. Thankyou so much for sharing!
Love the last 2 shots, what a wonderful time of year to shoot.
Uuummm.... what can I say?? ... Oh! I've got it! ... EPIC!!! That's the word. Thanx Mads!!
Such a soothing component to watching your videos that makes your channel unique - great work!
Beautiful and calming. Unlike anything we have here in Hawaii
Amazing enthusiasm and passion in all of your videos. Stunning photos... very inspiring you are.
Lovely forest scenes. I really like the atmospheric images in the fog, especially when you had the little splashes of yellow-green leaves interspersed throughout the scene. Thanks for great content as always Mads!
You're very welcome, James! Happy you liked it :)
@@MadsPeterIversen Here in western New York state, many young beech and oak trees hold their warm brown leaves all winter until the spring. It makes for a nice splash of subtle color against snow covered woodland images on cloudy days as well as being very bright when backlit on a sunny winter day.
Your videos are amazing! A true inspiration to someone who has picked up the camera again after some years. Everything from the drone photography to editing, voice over, music and presentation or your beutiful photos are fantastic. And you don't only take fantastic stills, about 14:03 in the video it actually looks like you walk right into one of your pictures. What a beautiful place. Every scene is top quality. Great work Mads. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so, so much, Niclas! Those are some really kind words m, which I cherish! 🙏
Lovely forest images. Your videos make me want to leave work and head out into the trees myself!
It's so peaceful out there in the forests :)
Ooohhh I like so much amazing photos congratulations
Wow! Amazing colours! Epic!!!
Another great video Mads. I really like the forest series. Thanks......
Great shot @ 3:50 !! Well heck, the entire video has amazing photos !
On another occasion, drone photography could be good in these conditions! Grand colours, Mads, and it's reassuring to see even you full-time chaps miss the best foliage colours too...
Nothing like a cup of java and one of your vids! Thank you
Your videos transports me to those locations .
Well choreographed video enjoy it very much. One can really tell how much you enjoy doing what you do. In my favorites with this one.
Another inspiring video Mads !!!
very nice video and photos! it is interesting to see how your tales unfold through the seasons :) and you might find it useful to know that the frosty conditions are for most trees the trigger for the leaves to start turning, it usually starts happening in few days after the first frost :)
The video and photos are very soothing to watch and it's intriguing to see what results germinate from your adventures. Beautiful!
Thank you for such a lovely comment, David! :)
@@MadsPeterIversen My pleasure!!
Your videos are wonderful with my morning coffee, thank you.
Hehe, cheers! ;)
Yeah, I enjoy some CZcams too with my morning coffee :)
Inspirational as always, thanks Mads. Right....................... now I'm going out in our woods (but it is raining!)
Nigel would be so proud! ;)
Thank you, Jerry! Hope you're doing good? :)
I really like the background track you used in this video.
Denmark's woodland is very different from the topography of my area (Northeast US). Our glaciers deposited many, many boulders carved from the mountains of New England and northern New York. They've made some of my best images possible. On the other hand our forests have way more undergrowth and finding clean compositions is a challenge.
That area is just incredible! :)
Thanks for another great video
So lovely...
Great video, we've had a good autumn in the UK that's sadly nearing the end now. Autumn is probably my favorite season.
Thanks a lot, Steve :)
I like it for the moody weather and bigger probability of fog, but I gotta admit I think I prefer my summer photos of trees ;)
@@MadsPeterIversen That's interesting, I think I take less pictures during the summer now. Autumn and winter are fast becoming my most productive time for photography. I also like the fact that you don't have to get up so early for that sunrise shot. A real bonus.
Great vlog Mads. Thnx
Hi Mads. Another wonderful vlog ! I love all of the images but the misty beech trees are my favourites. Can I ask whether you considered using a polariser in any of your images? I use one with some of my autumn images but would value your view on whether you prefer not to. Thank you so much for sharing these beautiful images.
Excellent work Mads... thanks for the inspiration!!
You're welcome, Andrew! 🙏 Means a lot you like it :)
It's taken awhile but I've come to appreciate the story of the lack of rocks in Denmark. Oh, and I loved the vlog as well. A great series.
Thanks a lot, Brad! :)
Love your forest ones. Your great photos from epic places like the Faroes and Iceland show that you are an artist. Your photos in the Danish forest show you are an insightful and genuine artist. I learn a lot from your videos.
I am really enjoying your Tales from the Forest series. This episode is another gem.
Thank you so much, Jami! :)
Watching your woodland videos is inspiring me to give it a go and get away from the traditional landscapes which I tend to shoot
Mads, while I always enjoy your videos showcasing the epic landscapes you’re known for, I’ve really enjoyed this series’s foray into the more subtle and intimate landscapes you’ve explored close to home. Cheers!
Fantastic
Great locations and gorgeous pictures of, probably, the most beautiful tree in autumn, The Great Silver Birch ❤️
I absolutely love this series of videos, they are some of the best you've produced. Thank you!
Mads, I always enjoy your tours through your beech & birch forests - something we don’t have in the warm climate of Aus. We have them growing only in our mountains (where there are now fires).
Too bad about all those fires! Really sounds bad from what I understand :(
Yes, Mads. They got worse yesterday. All of Sydney is covered with smoke. This morning there was black ash from the burned eucalyptus trees in north, west & south of the city. It’s something I’ve haven’t seen since the really bad fires in January, 1994. There’s certainly climate change, But out incompetent government does nothing! Enjoy your cool climate
Mads, thanks for the series. I’ve always enjoyed walking through a forest photographing what’s on the floor - flowers or mushrooms, but never really thought about photographing other elements of the forest itself. Thanks for your insights and a new challenge for my photography.
You're very welcome, Carl! :)
I can feel your enthusiasm for woodland overtaking the epic aspect of landscapes .. top job
Thanks a lot, Ian! Yeah, but seems people following me on CZcams want neither epic Iceland or intimate Denmark...
Loved the quiet mood in those misty photos. Beautiful pictures! 😊👍
Awesome eye for a shot. Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks a lot, Ed!
Fantastic scenery Mads. Very inspiring. You really transmit your passion. Keep making videos like this!
Thanks Mads for a beautiful, relaxing and educational video. You definitely have an eye for natures splendour.
Love your videos, well worth subscribing
Cant help but feel relaxed after watching this episode as you conveyed the calmness you experienced Mads through your images. Great choice of music too for your soundtrack 👍
Thank you very much, Jim!
No mountains 😀 much easier to carry heavy gear for longer. Must visit on my next trip to Europe. Getting the timing just right for autumn colours will be the difficult part. I love autumn 😍. Love the video Mads. Derek.
Great video. I’d love a short piece on how you post-processed the beechwood shots 🍂
Mads I just love your content. If you had a Patreon I for one would support you on it.
Very nice video and great images! What L bracket do you use for your camera? P.S. I saw in description :)
Wow the forest is incredible, seems to be endless possibilities. Great video as always 👍
Love this serie! This one reminds of the local beech forest in my hometown.
Thank you, Hans! Would love to see what you can pull out of those ;)
Wonderful video Mads. Eagerly awaiting the next one, looking forward to your next British trip as well! ;)
Love the simple shot at the end and the drone footage, no drone photos is a shame.
Good see see you so entranced by the conditions, I know the feeling.

Yeah, I wanted some drone photos but they didn't really turn out that well :(
Lovely conditions and images!
Lovely visuals thanks. Really enjoying your content.
Great atmosphere. Wonderful video.
Beautiful forests!
Amazing as always :)
I love Autumn in Australia.....all the snakes are going to sleep...lol
I think Victoria is very romantic in Autumn.
You should consider renaming the series to ‚Fairytales from the Forest‘. Really outstanding images. 👍🏼❤️
Thank you so very much! 🙏
Fantastic images, Mads. I think I’d probably hang any of them on my wall 👊🏻.
Thanks a lot, Rich! Maybe one day ;)
I had to laugh when you described those rocks as "big rocks". :-) Here in New Hampshire those would be very small, we have loads of very large glacial erratics all over the place.
Hehe yeah, when it comes to that I guess it's relative ;)
We surely have some way bigger rocks here in Denmark too :)
Hello Mads, First of all, I love that background music, very soothing sounds, I would suggest that you may keep that one for some time. The colour of the trees was glorious in that atmospheric mist. Question: Regarding your processing which I liked. Did you move the haze slider in Lightroom or apply a gaussian blur to the image? As always thank you for sharing your skills with us. It was very enjoyable indeed!
I did both in regard to the editing and I really like that music too ;)
Lovely images, Mads. And such a lovely forest. Where exactly is it? I'm thinking of going down there next year.
This forest isn't particularly unique for Denmark. It's called "Stjær Stenskov". There are tons of beech forests in and around Silkeborg and most of Jylland :)
Where exctly are you, I’d like to go there for some early wildlife photography? Thanks for the video🙂🇩🇰
This is from "nordskoven" in Silkeborg :)
