    What is Char Koay Teow?
    Char Koay Teow which means ‘ stir-fried rice noodles’ in dialect, is a dish made out of flattened rice noodles. This popular dish is commonly seen across Asia, especially in Singapore and Malaysia, with each having their own variation. Char Koay teow(炒粿条) is normally stir fried over a high heat with an assortment of ingredients consisting of normally fresh cockles, fish cake, eggs, bean sprouts, Chinese sausages and of course the Koay Teow(flat rice noodles). A sweet sauce and dark soy sauce is also drizzled onto the dish during frying, giving it a sweet and savoury taste. A spicy version is available with the addition of chili sauce or belachan for those that prefers a kick of spiciness!
    In this Char Koay Teow store that we encountered, instead of using chicken egg, duck egg was used!

    Am I the only one seeing portions shrink with every plate served?
    2:53 plate1

    7:32 plate 9
    8:00 plate 10
    8:22 plate 11
    One wok filled continually served 11 plates and once ready the individual plates were filled at a rate of 30 seconds each.

      Yes you're right. That's y some prefers hawkers that fries one at the time with smaller wok even having many orders. People may ridicule at them for not doing it at once, but atleast the portions is standard.

    The portion looks like it's suitable for 8 year old kids only. Adults need 2 plates. Sportsmen and bodybuilders need 3 plates.

    That's y I never eat these shops during peak hours, or order the same stuff for two. It's because the portions and stuffs not stable but the price still same. These used to be extremely cheap stuff, that's y people didn't mind taking it as "luck", but now it's quite expensive, so it feels cheated.

    The last plate tastes best because the noodles stayed in the wok the longest. Overcooked

    I tried the duck egg char kwek teow, it is over hyped. Not much difference with the chicken egg version.

      Ya should be like the hum..put in the prawn for each plate. Can see by the last few plate the prawn already shrink and will be very hard.

    Worst fried noodles I have seen. Towards the end ,by Adding more bean sprouts in to make more portions is a real put off when there are already some cooked bean sprouts inside. This is a silly short term way to make money
