I just use a spoon to carefully remove the last few drops from the can. God knows it already arrives with too much water in it, I don't want to dilute it further.
Hi Gareth hope all’s well. I don’t eat curries out of tins so I’m not going to be much use in a decision on the best one, although I’m going to say that the Vindaloo would get my vote in a decider between the M&S and Asda purely for monies worth. Great video again xx
The ASDA vindaloo is pretty good. The chicken is overcooked, but that's to be expected. It's well worth keeping a few in the cupboard for a quick tasty feed or in case of an emergency.
Great review Gareth, Tinned curry’s ideal for when you go away in a caravan or camping for the weekend or so . Looked nice , most foodies don’t like curry to hot so perfect for most . Also the bread you cooked looked superb, I will be getting some of those bad boys . Cheers buddy 👍
The asda vindaloo is my go to midweek curry when you haven't got time to cook one fresh. Asda also do a microwavable pouch of basmati rice for 49p. So a full curry and rice for £2.09.
Come on, it can’t taste good surely? Any meat meal in a tin is sub standard. The only exception is tinned fish. Maybe corned beef if you like that shite
These are great when we go camping. Simple, easy, tasty enough, not a food snob - especially when you're camping; these are brilliant. Single gas stove, one mess tin, couple of forks, a naan bread, boom.
I do like your honesty no work it out beforehand and show how clever you are tell them straight I worked it out earlier. If there are any takeaway plastic containers I usually wash them out. 1) they make great storage container for herbs spices etc and 2) they are great for screws, nails, and all sorts of bits. They stack and it is easy to see what's in them. The better (wash clean ) ones I save as they are very handy for microwaving tins with the lids almost on, saves having to clean the micro and clean pans. Tin food is always a gamble, but a trick I use for such as the ASDA vindaloo is before adding to the pan I gently fry in the pan in a knob of butter or marge and a drop of oil some ground dry chillies (the very end of a teaspoon mind they are very hot) then add the curry. I like Bramwell's they are half decent and usually good value for money. As for Coconut milk, ALDI have a Green Thai curry paste. Half an onion fine chopped, fried in marge and oil, add a good table spoon of paste (2 even) fry a bit add a can of coconut milk, throw in a couple of lumps of frozen Haddock and maybe a few green beans and simmer for 10-15 mins. You will not be disappointed. Keep up the good work 😊.
great video, and happy you have managed to review the ASDA tinned Vindaloo. i have them often (as i've said here before, lol) BUT you must add some other bits to it to get the best out of it... some extra hot chilli powder and some fresh chillies if you have some, oh, and i add naga pickle too. and to make it more like an actual Vindaloo, i often add some potatoes - lovely. they used to be about a quid for the Vindaloo from ASDA, but they've shot up in price now :( EDIT... ASDA should rename these "Vindaloo" tins, as they just AREN'T Vindaloos! - no heat, no potato... rename these and then have a hotter/spicier version (with potato ofc) and then it CAN be called Vindaloo (maybe even have an extra hot version: Tindaloo (yes, that IS a curry - apt tho!) or Phaal - now, a Phaal in a tin - YES!!!!!
@@TapDancerDood Actually, there should be no potato in a vindaloo. Vindaloo is from Goa and aloo means garlic in Portuguese. The original is made with red wine vinegar, garlic, loads of dried "Kashmiri" chillies (these give it a mad red colour), and it's usually made with Pork - and not insanely hot. The vindaloo from the deli counter at Asda is way, way closer to an authentic on than you'll get from any restaurant in the UK.
Looked OK, but I prefer home made curry with that Aagrah sauce you recently reviewed. I usually make loads and freeze half, bulk it out with either lentils or chickpeas, so you get some economy and healthy too. Paratha looked nice though.
Asda curries has been my go to for quick cheap midweek meals for years now. Love the vindaloo one, I just add extra hot sauces to mine to give them a real kick 👍
I had one of those Asda chicken vindaloos yesterday. It tasted very mild to me too - definitely not worth 4 chillis, but it wasn’t bad. If I have one again I’ll add some more chilli powder to it
That has Modified maize in it too but i just looked it up on google apparently they add some chemical to the maize to make it more resistant to heat when cooking , still dont sound too healthy to me mate
Another great review gareth I've not had the aldi tinned curry but have had the asda tinned vindaloo a few times on nights when all the chilled fresh ones had sold out and even though the chicken was not in the same league it wasn't bad 👍👍🍗🍗🥘🥘🎄🎄
Will definitely try the canned Vindaloo. I'm a fan of good emergency tinned foods. Have you tried the currys in a pouch from B&M. Mild lentil spinich chick pea options
I've had these curry's before and I wasn't to keen on them asda used to do one fresh where the scoop it in a proper curry tray but I haven't seen them do them anymore great video by the way 👍👌👊
I have tried these, they are awful , just mushy chicken , not a fan of tinned curry, but a tinned Chilli is good Stag is the best , and i put mixed beans in mine to spread it out , nice video again Gareth
Love Stagg, oddly Asda used to do a canned chilli for 59p and was as good as stagg they discontinued it probably because everyone bought that instead of Stagg

Those paratha's look good 🙂 I will put them on the list for my next trip to Aldi. I was munching on Corfresh Hot Bombay mix from Aldi while I was watching your vid & I reckon you will like this 🤔 with a bit of better light on it 😎👍
The Asda vindaloo has some excellent reviews on the Asda site, some are complaining that the price has increased recently, £1-60 sounds reasonable to me if it’s good quality.
The asda vindaloo curry is one of the best ones i have found in a tin. i always pour the contents in a pan and sprinke in some chilli powder to spice it up a bit. great price
Hello everyone. I hope that you all have a marvellous Christmas and New Year. I am quite a fan of the ASDA vindaloo curry tins, and think that they are very good value for money given the taste/quality/price mix. Discombobulated is an awesome word. Love it!!
Best tinned curry I had was an Indian 1 with haricot beans from Aldi, typically when I tried to buy another next day they were gone,a 1 off the store said,Ally
I got a great find sainsbury's pork mini ribs Chinese style sauce frozen meat falls off the bone and the sauce is to die for. I usually eat them with sainsbury's create your own pizza with loads of spicy beef amazing 👏
Good camping/backpacking/emergency food, but for everyday for £1.00 more you can get the quite nice ASDA Chicken Balti (£2.50) The 'Look What We Found' Beef chilli con carne 250g for £1.75 is the best of this type of food imo.... perhaps one for the notebook Gareth?
Spot on mate , value for money is what matters, if you need to tweak it you can, does that mean the Brazilian chickens are totally , well you know , nowt worse than a feather between the teeth 😁 think I'll invest in a few cans from Asda👍
My first venture into food review's was "The Wolfepit" from America and like you're good self he's an absolute gent who does brilliant reviews and what made it funny was most of the food was horrendous 😂
Chicken from Brazil, unbelievable Jeff Is he Finnish, nooo he’s Scottish 🤣 Curry in a can is BRILLIANT, more fast show type quotes please Love your work! A man of the people!!!
Will Give these a miss Pet Rather buy British Chicken Support our Farmers as well ( knew you were going to say the difference in price you had worked out before Video )🤣🤣 As I am in Stitches Watching you trying to work out the difference In your head Spot On ( you will never get over them hot dogs 🌭 Will you Gareth ) You're a Star Congratulations on Reaching Over 18 Thousand Well Deserved 👏 Take Care Best Wishes To You And Yours x
If you ever had that CHICKEN ROLL tinned stuff like pek or w/e, the Bramwells stuff is basically that really, so it is not as high quality meat as the asda one would be, but its servicable enough and has a good enough sauce, if ya just want something to throw on the hob in 5 minutes it does the job.
I tried Lidl Hot Chicken Curry and it was one of the most VILE things I've ever eaten! watered down crap with no chicken and gives you bad stomach lol Sainsbury one is nice but its not hot, but its jam packed with chicken, I just add some chilli etc for when I'm at work.
Hi Gareth next time you are in Iceland get a chicken madras (don't think they do vindaloo) £1.95. Compare that to the tin from M&S you will be pleasantly surprised.👍
Iceland do have a Vindaloo in their frozen range but imo, they're very bland (even with extra chilli powder added) and there's still NO potato, there's just nothing going on with them, and the same with the Madras, which is really quite sad as i love a hot curry - the best one i've had from Iceland is their Chicken Dhansak - quite nice (and yes, i do add chilli powder). one of the best curries i've ever had from a supermarket is from the Mumtaz (?) range but i've not seen them for years, from Morrison's i think. ... i will have to see if i can find them again :)
I love asda vindaloo, was recently 90p,a can but has gone up nearly double but also still good value especially for a canned meal it isn't vindaloohot more ,Ilike madras speaking of which their beef madras isn't too shabby either.
Well you can give it a try. Might save you a few quid at the end of the day. If it saves you all money the videos have done their job. Better the money in your pocket. 💰👍👍
@@BaldFoodieGuy If I may give you one product to try it would be the Swartz Bombay Potato Mix. It really is the best and can be used in many recipes as it contains-all the spices you need.
its all about taste i love the tin Asda beef madras but I also mixt it with a tin of cheap all day breakfast from b&m with bread n butter a good cheap meal for less than £3
Try Asda Vindaloo in the plastic containers from the fridges Gareth, they are very good and Hot, i buy them regulary and recommend them, that tinned one are wishy washy in my opinion, Thanks H
I've literally just eaten the Bramwell's and my God it's the best shop-bought curry (chilled, tinned etc) ever. Stunning taste, not too hot (not 3 chillis definitely), but lovely. Lots of good chicken, not chewy, lots of taste, no fat. Will definitely be buying it again!
A little tip for you. Don't use water to get the rest of the curry out of the can, use milk. Milk adds to the curry where as water takes away from it.
Good tip Simon thank you.
Don't use anything but a spoon?
Use a spatula
I just use a spoon to carefully remove the last few drops from the can. God knows it already arrives with too much water in it, I don't want to dilute it further.

Cheers Marty 😋👍👍
Not really for me I think, if I feel like a cheap curry I usually buy the £1 frozen one from Iceland. Not very hot but fills a hole.
My first venture into food review's was "The Wolfepit" from America and like you're good self he's an absolute gent who does brilliant reviews and what made it funny was most of the food was horrendous 😂
Thank you, Merry Christmas 🎅🎅😋👍
Chicken from Brazil, unbelievable Jeff
Is he Finnish, nooo he’s Scottish 🤣
Curry in a can is BRILLIANT, more fast show type quotes please
Love your work!
A man of the people!!!
Cheers Kev 👍👍😋😋
@@user-le8di9vm9d Tonight, I will be very very drunk 😉

That's funny the chicken is from EU and Non EU countries, might as well put could be from anywhere...

Cheers, absolutely, all the best x
Asda Brazil vindaloo no way ,,hahaha lovit Gareth
If you ever had that CHICKEN ROLL tinned stuff like pek or w/e, the Bramwells stuff is basically that really, so it is not as high quality meat as the asda one would be, but its servicable enough and has a good enough sauce, if ya just want something to throw on the hob in 5 minutes it does the job.
cheers Aaron yes ive had that and spam on here. Its good stuff fried.
Propper Northern review, love it
Thank you 😋😋🎅🎅
Hi Gareth next time you are in Iceland get a chicken madras (don't think they do vindaloo) £1.95. Compare that to the tin from M&S you will be pleasantly surprised.👍
Good idea Brian 😋👍👍👍
Iceland do have a Vindaloo in their frozen range but imo, they're very bland (even with extra chilli powder added) and there's still NO potato, there's just nothing going on with them, and the same with the Madras, which is really quite sad as i love a hot curry - the best one i've had from Iceland is their Chicken Dhansak - quite nice (and yes, i do add chilli powder).
one of the best curries i've ever had from a supermarket is from the Mumtaz (?) range but i've not seen them for years, from Morrison's i think.
... i will have to see if i can find them again :)
Crikey your on the Ruby Murry again. Fair play to you Gareth. I could live on curry I love it. Great review 👍
Haha cheers, yes I got these mixed up. My apologies here. Different curry's.
@@BaldFoodieGuy no worries pal. 😊
The Aldi / lidle / very high flavour I've got about 20 in stock ? Try Morrisons chilli con carne around 70p a tin also OK IMO.
Asda do a 90p frozen curry with rice it's amazing 👍
Gotta try them breads
I've had The Bramwells, not too bad, ideal for the pantry.
I love asda vindaloo, was recently 90p,a can but has gone up nearly double but also still good value especially for a canned meal it isn't vindaloohot more ,Ilike madras speaking of which their beef madras isn't too shabby either.
Cheers 👍🤤🤤😋
I'll stick to the authentic takeaway, never had a ready meal curry that I've enjoyed yet. Cheers Gaz.
Good idea Kevin 😋😋😋👍
@@BaldFoodieGuy Absolutely, no good eating if you don't enjoy what you're eating!
Hi Gareth, on the base of the Aldi can is what looks like a country code for the Netherlands - NL.
Them paratha look good I'll have to get one the ones with mince in them are nice but Ive not seen them anywhere
i agree with you Gareth nice chicken but not really vindaloo from asda the aldi just above a korma keep them coming mate
Hi mate try the milder one first. Then the hotter one.
Yes looking back I should of now. 👌😋😋
You should be about 20 stone. Great videos. Keep it up. Merry Christmas.
Haha Merry Christmas 🎅🎅👍
@@BaldFoodieGuy Watching your videos has converted us to Aldi.
Yes I've done a couple of curry mixes. Look on home cooking be in there. The mixes from Aldi are good.
Hi sweetie it did say on the aldi can using chicken from eu and non eu countries I saw it briefly hun xx
Cheers Lyn, did I miss it sorry. All the best 😋👍😘
A proper vindaloo will make you sing johnny cash in the morning..Great video 👍
Haha cheers, yes I've had a few in here and Phaal, yummy 😋🍻🍻👍
The first one for me looked the best. I suppose you have to pay a little bit to get quality
Can you do some biscuit reviews?
Like Aldi own biscuits vs the real brand ones?
Yea, I agree, but mcvities milk chocolate are top dog. I hope Gareth does a nice homemade turkey curry with leftovers
Great vid boss I love a curry but not to hot
Cheers me too. I got these totally wrong. Different curries these. My fault.
@@BaldFoodieGuy you good mate keep up the good work
its all about taste i love the tin Asda beef madras but I also mixt it with a tin of cheap all day breakfast from b&m with bread n butter a good cheap meal for less than £3
Yes of course David, we all have different tastes. Thank you 😋👍👍
Try Asda Vindaloo in the plastic containers from the fridges Gareth, they are very good and Hot, i buy them regulary and recommend them, that tinned one are wishy washy in my opinion, Thanks H
Cheers Harry.
I've literally just eaten the Bramwell's and my God it's the best shop-bought curry (chilled, tinned etc) ever. Stunning taste, not too hot (not 3 chillis definitely), but lovely. Lots of good chicken, not chewy, lots of taste, no fat. Will definitely be buying it again!
cheers
I want to buy an air fryer. Which ninja do you have as I am losing the will to live trying to find out which one.
Is for you alone or family?
@@BaldFoodieGuy There is two of us. My husband likes chips but home made is this any good.
Have a look on Google at some reviews. Depends on your budget also. 😋😋👌👌
I really enjoy all your videos but especially your comparison ones, thank you and keep up the good work
Thank you, You are very kind. Will do. All the best 😋👍🎅🎅
Bloominheck not seen Bramwells since 90s iam sure the did other tinned food back then
With the aldi one I add a heaped table spoon of hot curry powder and that heats it up nicely
good tip 👌
