Sirius Aero An-24 Lensk to Ust-Kut incl. Gravel Runway Take Off

Window view from Sirius Aero An-24RV registration RA-47315. Operating Rusline flight 7R3610 from Lensk (ULK) to Ust-Kut (UKX), Russia. The same flight also continued to Krasnoyarsk (KJA), however there was an aircraft change in Ust-Kut to another An-24.

The wheels seemed to come down while the plane was still quite high, or am I imagining it? Amazing plane, amazing landscape.

They probably do it to help slow down the airplane !

I see that the pilot brakes the wheels (@3:51) before retracting the landing gear. I understand that this is best practice.
