- Window view from FlySAX McDonnell Douglas DC-9-14 5Y-SAZ during approach and landing at Entebbe (EBB), Uganda. Operating flight B5839 from Nairobi (NBO) on 29th March 2018. This was the last passenger DC-9-10 operating in the world and was grounded within a few weeks of this flight.
I've flown into and out from Entebbe many, many times BUT those flights were all on board Comet 4's, Super VC10's, Boeing 707's or DC8's and usually either East African Airways or BOAC and occasionally other airlines. I lived in Kenya and was at boarding school in Essex, England. We flew Nairobi to/from London 3 times each way per year for over 10 years and every flight stopped over at Entebbe on route. I loved it and I really miss those days! I am now a permanent UK resident (Norfolk)
Goodness me. Those must be amazing memories.
@@flymajj sure are beautiful memories except for the boarding school bit! Thanks
why was it grounded and current status known?
Last I saw, it was on the other side of the runway with a load of the other long-term stored aircraft. I don't know precisely why it was grounded.
@@flymajj old age?
