    • @LakerLife
      @LakerLife Před 6 lety +20

      Both are nutrient dense in their own way and both should be consumed!
      For example:
      Spinach has, more iron, folate, potassium, magnesium, and fiber.
      Kale has more Vitamin K, C, A, and Calcium.
      It would be foolish to choose one over the other.
      Implement both into the diet. =)
      Much of the population suffers from malnutrition.

    I have lost 200lbs at one point. With college, I have been cycling between a net loss of 100 - 150lbs. I am back on track now and I realized one thing. People in my shoes(severely obese) really can't have cheat meals, or be more "flexible." That can start a downward spiral. This has happened to many people.
    Don't count the macros/calories from cooked foods. How where they cooked? In butter? In olive oil? If you cook something like a chicken thigh and the fat gets in the pan, is the calories/macros with the fat or not? If you weigh your food raw, that's all the calories in the raw food. Eat all of it(including the juices).
    I recommend making a day(plan in advance) of the macros/calories you want to hit. You can print it out and have that as MealPlan1. Then make another and have a MealPlan2; then another and have MealPlan3. Then just alternate them if you get bored with the foods.

Also, maybe you could try quinoa (which may sound "hippie"), because I feel like it's higher volume than rice, for quite the same amount of calories (per 100g uncooked), and also higher protein and fiber. Don't know if you tried it before but hey, give it a go if you're interested.

      Use bacon grease to cook raw spinach. It adds flavor and sodium. No need to add any salt, just fresh ground black pepper!

    Christian, which is the better way to do things? Is it better to hit your macro target or is it better to hit your calorie target? In this video you had just under 2500 calories. Your roughly the same size as myself so that should give you approx half a pound a week weight loss, I’m assuming this isn’t enough to drop your weight to your target weight so would you adjust your macros the further you get into this prep?

      While that is pretty typical it still doesn't add up. In fact, most of these CZcams fitness personalities tend to diet on pretty high calories relative to their stats. It just makes me wonder. And i'm not trying to sound jealous what so ever. I'm really just trying to make sense of it.

    You should probably weigh rice/food dry if possible. The moisture in it will change after cooked and will effect the weight both right after being cooked and it will continue to change even hours later when it's refrigerated and cold.
