  • 🗣️ If you enjoyed the Jesus Revolution film and want to know more of the Vineyard's history, this documentary explores the roots and story of the Vineyard, including Carol Wimber sharing her first-hand experience of Calvary Chapel, Lonnie Frisbee, and the birth of the Vineyard movement.
In 1963, John and Carol Wimber walked through the doors of a Quaker church. Their subsequent decision to follow Jesus, with John giving up a promising career in the music industry, has impacted millions of people worldwide.
In 1982 Kenn Gulliksen gave John and Carol the name Vineyard, and since then Vineyard churches have been started around the globe, with over 2500+ churches currently meeting worldwide.
This wide-ranging interview with Carol, Bob and Penny, covers the period of time before the Vineyard, their time with Calvary Chapel and the start of the Vineyard in the UK, including the stories behind the beginning of New Wine and Soul Survivor.
In this moving, inspiring, humorous and insightful film, John Wright (National Director of Vineyard Churches UK & Ireland) interviews Carol, Bob & Penny, as they share their story for a new generation.
    --
We are part of a Vineyard Global Family and so are delighted to make this film available with subtitles in Spanish (Latin), Chinese Simplified, Hindi, Portuguese (Brazil) and English, making this film available to even more of our family around the world.

Reread The Book of Acts all sfresh, anew as though you'd never read it before.
Listen carefully to what Apostle Peter says in chapter 2, especially vss 38 & 39 ss he had himself judt received The Holy Ghost because being with Lord Jesus for 3 1\2 years was not enough! He is speaking to men from everywhere that were born Jews! See what happens before the day is over. Then in Acts 10 what does he tell the Gentiles? Look into what Apostle Paul tells those Baptized unto repentance in obedience to what John Baptist taught. What then is the Gospel?!? And do you not see that obedience and "works" are not the same thing!?!

Before a play begins, the director calls 'places'. Everyone gets in place on the stage, ready to play the role assigned to them. As a Vineyard community, we're well versed in our roles - worship, preaching the word, healing, compassion. Carol Wimber's call is the same - get in your places. The show is about to begin...

"It’s not just the torches, but the whole thing [body of Christ]. You need to get it, what it is God called you to do and do it with all your heart. Because it’s so very very important, because no-one else has been designed to do it like you will do it. And you’re the one he calls and no-one else will ever be able to do what he’s called you to do. Because we really are unique. Each one of us, unique. Designed for our place.” Carol Wimber - 51:15

I remember when John Wimber came to Singapore for the "Power Encounter Conference" sometime in 1988-1990, and John Wimber would have the room quiet and just simply say "Come Holy Spirit", and a wave would flood the room. No music, no emotional words, no nothing but just the utterance "Come Holy Spirit" in the midst of quietness. And people would start falling and speaking in tongues, and it was no reliance on any human stirring but purely the move of the Holy Spirit.

I was in Canada in 1984 at Vineyard conference, it was exactly the same....come Holy Spirit, with no hype, no music, no talking talking.......and God would come in the most profound ways - and I am SO grateful I was there to see it all and be a part of it.

Hello matsswede- Mike here- Lonnie and John were very close- it is possible you have not heard the whole story- for in the last months of Lonnies life, John actually was the one who foot the bill for Lonnie to live- I, do know the story- Great men and women of God 'All' go though the fires of life, or should we say the firey darts of the enemy, none of them come out not smelling of smoke- Lonnie prayed for me in 1979 and last just a few months before his death- The world should hear the whole story, sad, we never look-for-it--- Blessing--------------

John didn’t buy into moral relativism which as it turns out has led to so much heresy and even blasphemy in the “church”.

Watched the Movie, “Jesus Revolution “. It was powerful, and very inspirational. I had heard the name Lonnie Frisbee in the past, but never knew much about him. After seeing his character portrayed in the movie, a was able to watch a couple CZcams videos of him preaching. He seemed so young and innocent, loving, and he presented the gospel message in a simple easy to understand way. Lonnie wasn’t perfect, neither was Chuck Smith, John Wimber, and neither were the saints of old. We are all flawed human beings, but as we surrender our lives to Christ, and receive God’s love and forgiveness, He can use us to save the lost, heal the broken hearted, set free the captives. And yes, as we proclaim His gospel, He will confirm His Word with signs and wonders. Though we are not to worship or follow after these miraculous works, but follow after the Mighty God, who loves us, and calls us to love Him and the saints and the lost souls all around us.
