It was because she knew what he was trying to do, he wanted to get under her skin for her to react so there would be mistrial or at the very least he would delay the case, especially by getting contempt of court. Instead she was a rock and he grew increasingly frustrated when his life long tactics and immature attempts at intimidation and disrespect failed to delay matters as she only ever replied curtly with the minimal responses required under law. That's because the sovereign citizen movement is grounded in egotism, entitlement and hubris. The same people who believe they are literally above the law are the ones who believe they're smart enough to get away with breaking that law and then become resentful when they receive punishment for their transgressions. All you need to do is listen to his mother making excuses and talking about how he's "mentally ill" and how he's her poor little "caged bird", who would never do anything like this to hurt others. Even though his entire adult life has consisted of his hurting other people and not holding himself accountable for it. The entitlement of criminals who believe their crimes are totally justified is the same entitlement that draws people in to the sov cidiot ideology.
