This is one of the last great CZcams channels left. No fancy tools or shops just a man in his yard making stuff happen
The world headquarters is pretty fancy.😂
Captain, do you ever go in the house at night, and the Admiral tells you you're crazy? God, I love your channel!!!!
Mike, you are at it once again. You say you're not going to do something, we know you've changed your mind and a doing it anyway! At the start you mentioned the cab coming off? Yep it's coming off. Nothing like consistency, your specialty, who can guess what you're going to do. You certainly don't. That is what we love about this channel. You are a real person with a head full of ideas and you can't decide what to do: just like all of us sometimes. Keep doing what you do and we'll be hereto the end, I know I will be. Thanks For all the work and laughs, some unintended!
Most times the short path is the long path and the long path is the shortest. Nothing risked mean nothing gained. This is amzing transformation of trash to treasure.
Yesterday I tried to describe the appeal of the Kleeman channels to a friend. She described Binge Watching a reality show.
Best I could do was 'Imagine needing to build a road with a (slightly problematic) Backhoe, when what you Really need is a Bulldozer and an Excavator'. 'You record the entire process and post the results, good or bad, and people Love to watch it'.
She didn't get it.
Thanks for everything, Captain!!!
Just working through the problem. Impressive "stick-to-it-iv-ness" in that prep work, I understand the mental energy comment. Also I think your channel is the only one I watch regularly where you include the "well, that didn't work" moments everyone has. Thanks and take care!
Dan… I think that reading Mental Energy is the key to knowing when to stop. A guy can take a little break or fiddle with something else to give your body a rest… but, once you’ve exhausted your grey matter reserves… you’re better off to just quit!
In for a penny, in for a pound !! And off goes the cab, then the chassis tilted up..... not what you planned, but will make the rebuild a whole lot easier !!
After watching you for a rew years, I have come to expect the unexpected 😂😂😂
We watch as a yard truck becomes a show truck right before our very eyes. Great job thus far "buddy"...can't wait to see what's next.
Take your time my friend, you’ll plan and do a better job! Thanks for sharing Mike, see ya next time! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸
💪
It's a good thing you took the cab off to get to all the metal you patched in. I didn't know I was tuning in to a frame off restoration.
I didn't know either lol. Imagine my surprise
Chuckle ... "Don't call me" !!! LOL Just an attaboy on the thoroughness you're going thru to get ALL metal cleaned and addressed with coatings. I know "C&C" guys (Clint, Kevin, Tucker, Hunter and Randy) are impressed with getting done with the tools you have available ... great job !!!
Captain Kleeman, you are the ace of getting it done 🎉❤❤❤❤ 12:44
Love your content. Can't say I would love doing your laundry! Amazed at how you will try anything to achieve your goal. Keep up the good work.
Thanks! I do my own laundry but the way. I'm handy like that
I know how it goes. The thought process just gets deeper and deeper. “We’ll I’ve already done this…I might as well do that while I’m in here. It’s gonna be so cool when you’re finished.
Cap’n you’re pretty good at taking the road less traveled… but, today you took the circle drive and the fork in it too!
I think you’ll be glad you did!
Good progress bud!!!
Wow! That's a lot of work! More than I'd tackle. Love it! Can't wait to see the finished product! Thanks, Mike! Lee
“ Ah who knows” , that was hilarious Captain!
Captain Kleeman, you're like most people. Need a dump truck, so you build one from 2 or more trucks . And the only thing I'd done differently is getting a portable sand blaster to use . Keep up the excellent work Sir . 😊😊😊
Love your internal drive captain urine inspiration to so many getting ready to get out of bed and do something positive today
I'm gonna need you to proof read your comments better. Lol thanks for watching!
@@CaptainKleemanbut it made me smile 😂
@@wrstew1272 Me too.
I said what, then smiled.
I have to say, Mike don't do small projects.Nice work on pulling that cab.
Capt. Some days I think why but always entertaining. Keep the videos coming.
Being able to adapt or change during a project isn't always easy. Great call and nice torch work. Stay safe
Thanks Bruce
You are the aces in the hold. You have it going well 🎉🎉🎉
Mike, the frame is coming along nicely. I'm glad you are taking the time to strip the frame down (Maybe you strip the remaining stuff, including the front - opportunities ). I thought that the suspension on the front would be heavier than what is on there! Also, it might be easier to start from the ground up when you put everything back together, including the rear axels before installing the cab (Wonder if you could get the engine in before the cab). Then you can have the undercarriage completed before building the top back up.
I am glad you like going down the rabbit holes it is real fun to watch.😂😂😂😂
Lol
Captain you’re making something out of nothing! Looking great! Thanks for sharing! Kevin
Thanks Kevin
Shop and yard looks much better since you got the new headquarters. Cheers 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I agree! Thanks for watching
Mike i wanted to leave a comment but after reading all the comments you got only thing left for me to say is great video and thanks for bringing us along 👏👏👏👏👏👌👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👍
Appreciate ya watching!
hello Mike & it's is Randy and i like yours video is cool & Thanks Mike Friends Randy
Thanks randy
You are in the “ you might as well as” phase of the project or the “ what the H, just go for it, I’ve gone this far”. Taking your time is the best way to make time, I like the way you’re going at this project, you will have a good refurbishing job and it will give peace of mind and pleasure when using the truck when all said and done. I am enjoying this series, appreciate the tag along videos, thank you sir.
Exactly! Thanks for watching
You nailed it. It is often hard to bring yourself to a place of making a change of direction when you previously committed to a path. It shows integrity when you decide to make a new call because you own it first, then move ahead with new certainty ….haters and boo birds be damned.
Thx for the content ! 💪
Integrity - a trait which is simple to do but hard, if not impossible for some: when you say what you do and do what you say…then your words and deeds are integrated (integrity). If a person has integrity, then trust becomes less difficult to obtain.
💪
Where do you get your knowledge from Captain? You’re like a child in the sense that your brain is like a sponge absorbing so much knowledge and your quest for more knowledge. To me you’re one of the most impressive person I know of and THE most hard working people I know of, probably my favourite channel ! Great video as always and best wishes from Britain 👍👍
What a great story teller, fun watching and learn something along the way. Thanks.
Your “getting it running” on your dump truck is a lot like my “getting it running” on my JD310. I’ve almost got the whole thing restored, and I haven’t cranked it yet. New hoses, new tires, new starter, new injection pump, rewiring the whole thing, and painting it…. But still haven’t heard it run. 😂
Just prepping up for "one" of those starwars films.
Nah, let's go for Kleeman 😅😉
Your truck frame is going to be clean and rust free as well as looking great. It should last for a long time. Good decision on removing the truck cab IMHO. I enjoyed watching - thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
I am AMAZED that you can (?) remember where all of those wire harnesses, tubings, plates, and brackets will go!!! LOL
I take a ton of pictures and videos to help
Your attitude of just try stuff helps me in my truck project in my garage. I also don’t have any fancy shop or free tools, just get er done, or try again!
I have a suggestion. Before you tip your cab on it's back, go get some foam board to tip it onto. That will protect the glass and back from any unseen damage. You may want to take off the hood and fenders to eliminate a chance of tipping over backwards. Plus it will make reinstalling a bit easier. Carry on Captain! Stay Safe! 🇺🇲👍
With everything off the frame it would be a great time to install the rear end less weight to move around great video thanks Mike
I don't have the rear end yet. But hopefully soon
Nice weather to make some progress. Don’t forget to change the lightbulbs in the dashboard. It is easy acces now.
Unfortunately in every job there is the stuff that is not so exciting but you have to work through it to get to the fun stuff. I love what you are doing here and no fancy stuff, just hard work and get the job done. Good job Cap'n.
Progress is showing 👍
Absolutely!
aww Mike, I thought we were buddies :-( LOL. Even though this is a "Get it running enough to use and last a little while" project, you'll be happy you've taken some extra time with some of these details. Good work!
Glad to see you put a safety block on the frame. Stay safe.
💪
Nice job cleaning up "The Super Dirty" :)
Thanks!
You know I admire you and that you get things done in your way and that it is perfect!!!!!!
Thanks Bobby
This is becoming my favorite build series, after the 555,good job
Awesome! Appreciate ya watching
"Like a couple of buddies, we're not though, DON'T call me"
Had me rollin 😂😂😂😂
Capt my Capt, you a funny man.
Mike as always, nothing fazes you,you just go for it no matter what project your doing.always impressive, just continue doing what you do best. Great video as always ,be safe.making progress.👍👍👍😎😎😎
Thanks tom
Awesome shadetree workshop shenanigans on the old rusteration build, Awesome as usual Mike keep up the great work 👍🏻 😀
The gentleman from C&C equipment that's is always power-washing equipment !
Glad you took the cab off! If you’re gonna do it best do it right!! Frames in great shape!
💪
Thanks Captain, for another great fun video.
Appreciate ya watching
I've been working on my dump body and do the same thing as you. When i get tired of grinding or sanding i step away and work on something else that's not as demanding. As long as something is getting done. Love the videos.
Exactly. Thanks for watching!
Dude! Bogie board creeper is going to catch on in the off-road community!
Hey Mike, just sometimes you have to go deeper down the rabbit hole to get the job done right. I do,like your tenacity despite the frustration with the task. I would have been using lots of choice language doing that job. The end result will be the satisfying thing as you know from other projects. I am enjoying this build and the barn Reno. Great work, great attitude, great problem solving, keep it up.
Thanks!
You have to give the truck a great name, try to avoid calling it "the rig" save that for the fire department.
Great video series
Well, it's official. It's the rig now.
Great decision! Sure would be nice to have access to a sand blasting set up. You have the location that wouldn't be a problem. Where I live I have to worry too much about my neighbors. It's going to be a nice truck for your uses when you finish. You'll know it inside and out so you can keep it running and it will be clean for any future repairs or modifications. You must have done all the right things to the 555 It's ready to go every time you need it. You and Northwest Pacific Hillbilly have more energy and stick to it than anyone I have ever seen.
This has quickly become one of my favorite channels! Love the content!
Thank you! Glad your enjoying it
This is a pain project Mike but damn how rewarding when it is complete.
Gonna be nice
Mike, with the time and money you have expended on cleaning the frame, you could have purchased a wet blaster nozzle for the pressure washer and a bunch of sand and blasted the frame to bare metal. This would give a superior job and allow you to easily identify cracks. After blasting, rewash it to get residual grit off the metal. This eliminates most of the problem with rust forming as the ferrous grit rusts fast and contaminates the surface.
Nah
I do love it, can not wait for the finished product!
Thanks!
Mike, another tip.
Look over that 460 and make sure there are no broken bolts on the exhaust manifolds. Now is the time to fix them. Invest in some good taps and cobalt drill bits. You may even have to get some carbide bits.
My bolts were HARD.
Just my trials and tribulations.
Cheers
Terry
Great video video Captain. I can honestly admit, i made a comment on nya Millennial channel that he was doing a Captain move on his castle build. But i was sadly mistaken, Captain you do a much better job at your projects without the use of a lot of buddies helping you. And when something doesn't go as planned you figure it out and make it better than before. My respect to you and i apologize for comparing his work to yours. Your work is a thousand times better. Keep up the good work
you do great work Captain one thing about this build you will know if anything brakes you will only have yourself to blame and no one else but i have faith that all will be good to go for a few years
Another great video. Keep up the good work and we’ll see you on the next one.
💪
scope creep always finds it's way in. while Im in there leads to well Im elbow deep in grease/nastiness already. the farmstead dump truck cab doesnt have to be perfect, its the frame that matters. the extra time, materials to get the frame cleaned up, find hidden problems well worth it. for a moment from the thumbnail, I thought you'd wheeled and dealed with Clinton for one of his many Fords
You definitely brightened my morning 😊 You take care and pride in all you do. Thank you for sharing! I can hardly wait until the next video!
Im'a give you that thumbs up, despite saying we shouldn't call you.
Looking awesome Mike doing a fantastic job see u on the next video
Thanks!
You are doing well young man. About the cardboard and bolts . My local hardware store and auto parts stores love when you bring the old bolt/parts etc. easier the hunt for new ones. God Bless y'all and Jesus Loves y'all Love the Videos!!! P S Best degreaser ever Awesome at Dollar general.!!!
First time ever seen anyone take a cab off with all the front fender is still attached. Anyways, it works so more power to you.
The face shield for the cheek pokers (as Derek B) calls them is a great idea, but the clear mask with side respirators is a better option so you don't breathe the rust dust, you'll be coughing that up for days and it's not good for you. A needle descaler is also a real game changer on the inside of the chassis rails. Great progress regardless, thanks for sharing Mike.
This face piece is molded to allow a respirator underneath. More face protection than a full face respirator.
I have a mask similar to a Drager Panorama Nova, which as a fire-fighter you should know of.
Kontinuing on the Kleeman Khronicles.....I know you said you use the video to help you remember how things go back together and all but I tell ya, you must have a memory better than a "wife who remembers ALL of her man's faults since the first day they met" to get those pieces where they belong as you complete the dump truck project. The "boogie board back saver" is pure genius. Keep up the great work and "run wut ya brung" attitude. Great channel.....great content.
Thank you sir!
IMHO you were smart to do the extra work to prep the frame considering how... strenuously you are likely to be using this truck (chuckle). Should last a good many years. Thank you for sharing
Mike your doing a great through job and it will pay-off ,peace brother…
Thanks!
Another great video and fun job to watch. So glad so many of your viewers agree and like you, I think we’re all coming over.
Mike will you be putting seam sealer under the cab when you flip her over for more TLC?
Mike, a sandblasting set up may be helpful cleaning parts up. You’ve got the bed to do too.
I'm just not setup for that yet.
It still amazes me what kind of repairs you are willing to do.
Did a body swap on my F-250 Highboy back in 2001, very similar to this, used Neil Koch's backhoe to pick the cab off. Good luck setting back on, you're probably gonna need a spotter. It worked well for us to pick it up from the side.
I'm a one man band Tony. Lol. Thanks for watching
@@CaptainKleeman Yes you are, and I admire that.
@@CaptainKleeman You still have family that can help, or at lease they can try to help.
Good work! I think that you are a "How TO" guy, how to hang in there and spend time to do your best... Ron...
Thanks Ron
Hey Mike, go to Harbor Freight and get yourself a needle scaler. It'll make cleaning up rusty stuff a lot quicker.
Would definitely be handy.
It will be great when you are done, and no payment
Thank you for sharing
I use a face shield and safety glasses Mike, you can’t replace your eyes my friend! Looks great Mike, that’s what you call it! Doing it right brother, cleaning the frame! 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Also wear glasses with face shield. Debris can still get around the face shield.
Boy, Mike, that little loader has proven to be one of the most valuable tools you have on your property
Definitely
The wire brushes will make you a porcupine. Definitely a full face shield. Glad you took the cab off. No regrets later.
💪
You're going to have that too nice to go off road. I thought you were just slapping it together to run and go. I should have known. The Captain doesn't work like that. Interesting project.
This resurrection is very satisfying to watch.
Hi Mike. With the way you have started this project, you may be driving this truck when you are 85 years old unless you decide to sell it.
Have good days!
Well you're truck maybe total in 10 years... But it still has a frame that will be last for another 20 years! But being ready in March... But then again you never mentioned the year. :-) there' s also a March in 2025.... Nice video and thumbs up and good luck, love attitude and Approx on this project.
💪
Hi Cap, good look al around the project . 👈👺👀👀👍
Thanks!
Nothing wrong with taking a left instead of a right. Quite often the left was right.
I’ll see you Monday. By the way. I thought we were friends and tried to call 📞 you but the guy on the other end kept insisting he was an African Prince and we were related and needing my banking information to transfer my inheritance into.
If I get it I’ll build you a shop with that fancy on grid electricity stuff. 😉
Lol. I sent him everything I had already, hopefully the $27 helps him out 🤣
Easy Off oven cleaner is great to use for removing stubborn grease.
don't normally see the fenders pulled with the cab... that's fancy.
You definitely need an engine mount heat shield on the drivers side.
It'll torque the rubber right off the hot steel plates.AMHIK.
Should work as long as you don’t choke the strap, looks good Mike! I do enjoy watching your truck modification, it’s going to be nice to have on the homestead! 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻 As long as you have the cab off , you can flip flop it like you need now! Might as well do it right! Maybe put the drive train together before you put the cab back on? Just wondering?
If I had it, I would lol.
@@CaptainKleeman I understand Mike, take care my friend! 🙋🏼
Hey cap, Great, time to change the exhaust manifold, bolts and gaskets a lot easier now on a stand
Yup, on the list.
The price of nuts and bolts will add up quick! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
