    In order to maximize the amount of nutrients we take in, we need to eat foods that carry the greatest amount and variety of nutrients.
    Here are 4 of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet.
    1. Potatoes
    Potatoes are nutrient-jammed and really one of the world’s most perfect foods.
    A single large potato contains lots of Potassium, Magnesium, Iron, Copper and Manganese… with plenty of vitamin C and most of the B vitamins.
    They contain a little bit of almost every nutrient we need and there have been accounts of people living on nothing but potatoes for a long time.
    They are also one of the most fulfilling foods in existence. When researchers compared the “satiety value” of different foods, boiled potatoes scored higher than any other food they measured.
    If you cook the potatoes and then allow them to cool afterwards, they also form large amounts of resistant starch, which is a fiber-like substance with many additional health benefits.
    2. Blueberries
    Although not as high in vitamins and minerals as vegetables (calorie for calorie), the antioxidant content is where these tiny fruits really shine.
    Blueberries are loaded with powerful antioxidants that protect our bodies from damage by unstable molecules called 'free radicals'.
    In fact, they contain the highest antioxidant capacity of ALL commonly consumed fruits and vegetables.
    The fact that they are colorful and taste good, and that the frozen ones are still very healthy, is just a bonus.
    3. Salmon and Tuna
    Not all fish is created equal. Salmon, tuna and other fatty types of fish contain the greatest amount of Omega-3 fats, which are extremely important for the optimal function of your body.
    Other than omega-3s, fatty fish also pack a massive amount of other nutrients. For example, salmon is rich in high quality protein and contains a lot of vitamins and minerals… including large amounts of Magnesium, Potassium, Selenium and all the B-vitamins.
    It's a good idea to eat fatty fish at least once or twice a week, to get all the Omega-3s that your body (and brain) desperately need.
    In fact, studies suggest those who eat fatty fish regularly have a lower risk of heart disease, and maybe even dementia and depression.
    4. Shellfish
    Clams, oysters and various other types of shellfish are among the most nutritious foods available, yet people rarely eat them.
    Clams are among the best sources of vitamin B12 in existence, with a 100 grams of clams supplying over 16 times the RDA or recommended dietary allowance.
    Oysters are also incredibly nutritious; 100 grams of oysters supplies 6 times the RDA for Zinc, 2 times the RDA for Copper, along with large amounts of B12 and Vitamin D.
    Shellfish can also be considered a great food for people who want to be as close to vegetarian as possible, while also getting most of the benefits of consuming animal foods. Because shellfish are considered non-sentient, which means they don't have the capacity to feel or perceive any sensations.

      Your right, this 'expert' doesn't know what he's talking about, potatoes for example, they are NOT a nutrient dense food, our brains are so large because we ate the organs of other animals such as liver, heart, testicles and brain.

    • @whistlingwhistler9583
      @whistlingwhistler9583 Před 2 lety +4

      have you heard of the degeneration theory? it's true but not in the sense of cultural or racial, etc 'corruption' as that is baseless and meaningless in the animal kingdom.
      The theory is true but is due to the lack of nutrient dense raw animal products that for most of human history we consumed in large quantities and regularly as a part of our species specific diet and now has all but abruptly come to a halt.
      we are now seeing the physical and mental degeneration which is having a compounding effect on each consecutive generation that comes after it.
      we have been told that bacteria is to be feared, that animal products are carcinogenic and dangerous for our health, and to be limited.
      That is all a lie, the ones who know, know. Weston A Price & Aajonus.
      We see it everywhere, veganism being pushed on people by coporations that have no care for others or the animals they claim to care about, they care simply about how deep their pockets can go. Advertisments and Vegan gatherings funded by sugar companies which don't care about your health or what is truth or not.
      They will even go as far to doctor medical studies, falsifying information to fit their agenda for profits, veganism being a branch of the seventh-day Adventist Church who are vegetarians and are known to support/fund vegan studies.
      Look at a picture of your grandparents or even great grandparents if you can, look at them. Look at them. What do you see?
      strong cheekbones, Imposing, tall and strong, big burly men who look nothing like you. Women who are absolutely beautiful and have perfectly well proportioned bodies.
      They aren't overweight, they aren't mentally ill and decided they were the 8th gender from the sun or whatever, they lived harsh lives and had to be strong to live through it, they had to eat well, they had to toil and graft to survive.
      Look at what they ate. Even If they consumed pasteurised/cooked animal products they ate them in far larger quantities than you did and weren't brainwashed to believe it would kill them, they also ate the organs of the animals they killed or bought, it Is a well known thing in butcher's up and down the country that it's only the 'oldies' that go for liver or heart, the organs.
      what I'm trying to convey is that for you to know the truth, and I mean the absolute truth about anything all you have to do is this.
      remove human constructs from the argument and that goes for religion and morality, and also do not accept government Information as fact, you shouldn't trust anyone but yourself with finding out if the information presented to you is truth or not, cross reference information for yourself, test it yourself, don't let yourself be fed quite literal human sewage that is spewed from some peoples mouthes, trust your senses, trust your instincts, learn to live life without doubting yourself, you will find your gut is most of the time right.
      Take a look around, people are so unhealthy today, they look ill and are aging prematurely and with (mental) and physical diseases.
      That isn't normal. How we live today is not healthy, we would be healthier as nomadic hunter gatherers, rejecting civilization and returning to savegry, a noble, healthy and well adjusted savage at that.
      no disease, no premature deaths, no mental illnesses and live happily, even knowing that if you met your end, even violently, at least you met it in an open field, under the stars/sun and not down some dinghy alleyway or some hospital bed being fed poison.

    • @mpgamer55
      @mpgamer55 Před 6 lety +14

      You can't get enough Omega 3 from flaxseed. ALA has to be converted to DHA and the conversion rate is very low. I agree farmed fish in most cases are a bad choice but there are some exceptions. Farmed shellfish in particular are actually more nutrient dense because they can be supported and provided lots of nutrition that would not always be available in the wild.

    • @downbntout
      @downbntout Před 2 lety +3

      Yes. He calculates on micronutrients per calories, not per unit of weight. There was massive industry pressure to use per-weight statistics when the FDA first started to assess food values (partly promoting obesity now, bc how much it weighs doesn't affect health but how many calories and the micronutrient content sure does.) The fats in those foods are almost all NOT Omega-3s. Shellfish live on the seafloor in nature and their job is to either eat from the slow rainfall of dead swimmer-type sea life, such as crabs and lobster, or to filter out pathogens and toxins, such as clams and oysters. Others have mentioned the metals, pesticides and petroleum accumulations in the tissues of top-of-food-chain species. No thanks to eating any farmed or wild sea life for me.

Same with other shellfish I have picked myself straight from the beach. I 100% encourage people to eat healthy with plants and fish I was pescatarian for 10 years but I wouldn't say a shelfish "feels nothing" so "it's okay". It's more like people who want to be vegetarian mostly, and eat fish occasionally say fish is okay because it's not red meat or white meat it's different. It's far from mammals..... Anyway I'm not trying to put you off shelfish because they are delicious but just don't fool yourself with "they can't feel" when the reasoning for choosing to eat fish and fruit/vegetables only is for a number of reasons.

    Can't wait to get my hands on the non-specific variety of salmon recommended which would include farm raised, also tuna one of the largest edible Mercury/toxin concentrating, sequestered particularity in its fatty tissue (Omega-3) fish in the ocean.. nevertheless there were other good recommendations but let's try and be more responsible going forward, thanks for the info.

But just imagine if you will for a second, before disseminating this info, doing a little more research, then it's a win-win, the information is accurate and as a result even more clicks more likes and more $$$... And most important of all, better health.

      I think they get a bad wrap because usually potatoes are marketed as...french fries, tater tots, loaded baked potato, etc.. All fried and all of those lead to bacon bits, ranch dressing, sour cream and other high calorie side items. Boiled white potatoes or baked potatoes by themselves are great for you for all the reason he listed. Not to pretty smart though, so I could be wrong..

    You said "use our calorie budget wisely" but you select based on nutrients per volume or weight or serving. When you really select on micronutrients per calorie, leafy greens are the superstars and fatty fish don't make the cut. I think in terms of micronutrients per calories. Protein as a nutrient leads me toward a whole lot of saturated fat. Sugar could be a "nutrient" (carbohydrate is a macronutrient) promotes inflammation. "Nutrient-rich" per WHAT is the key.

    The fact that liver or any other organ meat isn’t on here is absurd also a potato may have a variety of minerals but it’s 99% starch and the people who historically lived of of nothing but potato’s were not living a healthy life and seriously lacked substantial amounts of protein

    You are talking about micro nutrient dense foods. If we talk about overally nutrient dense foods, we have to count macro nutrient too. That would create top 10 list of foods with only fish, meat, steak beef, animal organs etc. Homo sapiens thrive the best with this top 10 list. Sure fruit and berries are wondeful superfoods. Potatoes are great until you fck em' up with seed oil making them fries. 👍
