Big help. So many folk have insisted that liver is full of toxins & organ meat is guts. I grew up eating everything from the animals we harvested in hunting or we raised for slaughter. But over the past couple decades I have been influenced to not eat organ meat. You and another very close friend have changed my mind. I am back and happy to be eating all that is possible in our animals.

      WebMD:
The liver's main job is to filter the blood coming from the digestive tract, before passing it to the rest of the body. The liver also detoxifies chemicals and metabolizes drugs. As it does so, the liver secretes bile that ends up back in the intestines. 🤢

I haven't had pizza in about 10 years.
I miss the freedom. I gave up grains but couldn't quit my simple sugar addiction. Even with intermittent fasting during the week I would go sugar crazy on weekends. Plain white sugar in tea and coffee, hard candy, maple syrup on coconut flour pancakes, agave nectar in almond flour cookies and honey in my virgin cocktails oh and wine at every reason to celebrate dinners. Now, I am showing signs of pre-diabetes. Self diagnosed. My doctor didn't even mention the high sugar glucose levels on my blood work. I started testing my fasting sugar on my own and was getting numbers like 112. I started testing and checking my old blood records because of half my body going numb at night. Tingling in my hand that was negative for Corporal tunnel. And then recently my left thumb has hot sensations. So starting two days ago I committed to a carnivore diet only for one month and then I plan on going to a strict clean keto diet and that for the rest of my life. With occasional wine on romantic vacations only. I'm jealous of those who eat whatever and yet their bodies can function fine. But I want to see all my kids get married and I want to be a healthy grandmother one day when the grandkids are born.

I can eat heart and gizzards, but I couldn't do liver until this past year, when I was able to fix it a certain way. After 31 years of marriage, my hubby actually asks for it weekly. He loves it. It includes pre-seasoning it and letting it marinate in vinegar wine and other stuff, including heavy cream. Then, fry up some bacon, remove when crispy, sautee onions and garlic in bacon grease, then add mega grass-fed butter, and add liver for a few minutes. I can't do anything pink, so that liver has to be dead before I turn the stove off. Add crumpled up bacon to liver when you turn stove off. Next time I fix it, I'll try to remember to record it. It really is delish 🤤

I detested liver as a child, but that was because it was fried grey, but lightly fried as an adult? Then it's really good.
It took 2 weeks for me to get used to it and also because "you can feel it working", I had to keep eating it. It's "natural vitamin pills".
Same with cod liver oil, took 2 weeks and I love it and so does my body.
Beef liver comes usually in 1lbs-2lbs packs. Fresh or frozen it doesn't matter.
If frozen, thaw out the beef liver on the counter for 20-30min.
The liver at this point should still be a bit frozen, only thaw so you are able to do the next step:
With a steady hand, as liver is very slippery, slice slices/discs that you re-freeze, first spread out, then you can stack them in a container.
Take out 1 slice 4-7 days a week and lightly fry it with your meal. I believe in giving the body breaks from consuming too nutrient dense foods, but you might want it in each meal.
The slice should be around 50-80g and should cover all vitamins and minerals for the day. Eating 200g or more in a meal might make your tummy upset. And that might result in you not trying it again. And if you still can't eat it, chop it up in small pill sized portions and just swallow with water, as if they were vitamin pills.
Not all livers taste as good to each person. Pork liver makes me gag, but i can eat liverwurst? Dr. Berg needed to sneak organ meats in a hamburger.
Americans especially are so fixated on food bringing instant joy in the mouth or they will never try it again? Somethings take time, no one liked beer or wine or whiskey the first ties.

Also, we had grass feed beef, chicken slaughtered just before being consumed. fresh fish caught early or during the night. and sold from door to door. The fruit and vegetables were seasonal, beans were part of the diet and the majority of the population were lean as reeds. Now, looking back, I can say that we ate a superior quality of food.

Calf liver or goat liver is even more palatable. Caramelized Onions and garlic also go well with it but you gotta start cooking the onions beforehand as they take longer to get Caramelized than the meat takes to cook. Dr Berg *Question,* is there a Multivitamin brand you recommend (aimed for keto)? Also, can you make a video on the topic of "happiness" & what you should do/consume to increase it.

Dr Berg is making his voice deeper with some kind of effect here. Sounds lower pitch than normal.

I find that onions, garlic, ginger & various herbs make pasture raised ox kidneys & heart very tasty. Ox liver also goes very well with onions but mustn't be overcooked as becomes too chewy. Sometimes I use curry powder and coconut cream when cooking these and again they are delicious. I was raised on a farm & we ate all chicken bits(love it). I wish could have them now. We had tripe too, so delicious when prepared properly.

Dr. Berg, is ground beef mixed with organs you mentioned be found in stores or online and, if so, where? Or did you mean we just add organ meat to ground beef 🥩 ourselves?

He said the company name ...
US Wellness Meats, and included a link in the description box.
But check with your butcher and see if he will grind some for you.
Use whatever option works for you, even if you have to grind it yourself.

OH, and my partner is Persian (organ meats are a part of their cultural eating), so I want to share the most delicious way to cook liver (it won't sound like the most delicious, but believe me, it is) - cut it in slices, then roast it over an open fire, and then (this is really important), add lots of salt and pepper! It is SO delicious. If you can get your hands on a really high quality flat bread, you can just lay it on there with some cucumber sauce. I never thought I'd be drooling over the thought of eating liver 😂

My mum would try to get me to eat liver as a kid. And I hated it. But recently I’ve started caramelizing onions add some chopped garlic salt and pepper. Sear the liver for just a few minutes so it stays pink inside. Then put it in the blender and you have pate. I eat it everyday almost! It’s so delicious yon a rice cake with avocado. Today I had it with lots of cucumber. Even my son loved it. I think if you know what foods to mix it with it is very delicious.
Maybe next year I’ll try the heart meat 😬
