Asylum was my favorite album from the 80's from KISS.
Paul Stanley once said that the song were written about ex-Kiss fans whome went on to other bands. After Ace and Peter were gone, a fan (from England) kept following them around shouting "Go Home To America!! Go Home To America!!!!" Read the lyrics...fans found other bands to follow!!

Another great 80's Kiss song, from the era that SAVED THE BAND FROM EXTINCTION. So much revisionist history when it comes to this period of Kiss. By 1983 Kiss couldn't get arrested in the U.S. Their albums weren't selling, MTV and rock radio wanted nothing to do with them and the makeup, and they were likely on the verge of getting dropped by Polygram Records after 2 back to back bombs on the charts with the Elder and Creatures of the Night (despite Creatures being a great album musically speaking). 1983 and off comes the makeup, Lick It Up goes Platinum, and Kiss are reborn and would remain a force in the rock world for the rest of the decade without the makeup on. Albums routinely going Platinum again, and concert attendances dramatically improving. Taking off the makeup saved Kiss. They would have been done. I was there and I remember it all well. Kiss did a lot of great music and concerts in 80's. I'm glad I saw what they created in the 70's, and I'm also glad they made the right decision to move FORWARD and remove the makeup in 1983, because they continued to make a lot of great music and put on a lot of great concerts. Yes their 80's period was different from the 70's, but it was still one heck of a good time for Kiss and the real Kiss fans who were there for the whole ride, not just a 5 or 6 year period in 70's.

Exactly. KISS was FINISHED by the 80s if they didn't make a move and they answered the bell. Now, people act like it was a stop-gap between their early days and the reunion tour. Nobody would've given a sh*t about a reunion tour if they hadn't kept themselves alive all that time. It would've just come across as a dinosaur band desperately seeking attention.
you have much ground to cover young lady! you will get many ideas; I will start with mine... Rainbow Stargazer; Ronnie James Dio perhaps one of the best vocalists to grace Rock/Metal. Iron Maiden Hallowed be thy Name. good start to some iconic metal singers, you can run with a multitude of their work but start there!
