First time seeing sweeping was watching you with Jag Panzer touring with In Flames in LA, it blew my mind and pretty much took most of my disposable camera pics....yeah, that's right, on you wailing in the guitar, such an awesome memory 👍
It's not a thumb pick, it's his signature patterned pick clip while using a regular pick. It's cool and he sells it on ebay and on his website I think. I bought one last year, mainly use it when I play blues so I can fingerpicking without "hiding" the pick. Its easy to use but: 1. doesn't work with picks >1mm, you might be able to squeeze a 1.14mm but thats it 2. If you get used to it, you might not be able to play normally again, as you play with FAR less tension in your pick if you have it on 3. It's kinda expensive, but hell we support our beloved musicians right?
