Great to see Andy LaRoque getting some love, very underapreciated guitarist despite the fact that he wrote so many classic King Diamond songs.
Many KD riffs wrote also by the King himself 😉
Andy has a unique tone and style
His soloing for Death were genius and totally added to chucks riffs
Andy probably my favorite guitarist of all time. He is amazing!
Peter Blakk is almost never name dropped and he wrote some really cool stuff too!

Chris playing these early Yngwie riffs reminds me that there was a time when Yngwie really cared about song writing and not just blazing up and down the fretboard,
The song Rising Force is something else.
Yeah, this was when he actually collaborated with other talented people like the late Marcel Jacob and had a real producer on his albums.
Kings of the nightworld from black dahlia sounds verrrrry similar to Yngwie now listening again lol. Makes sense though.
Why care about music when you can melt the strings off? 🤠

I miss when he was in Megadeth in around 2010. He definitely was way too good for the band but I'm glad he got the attention he deserved.

I'm so happy I Am A Viking is being mentioned here by Chris. Killer tune with an amazing riff and solo. Marching Out is also such a good metal album in general.

King Diamond and Andy LaRoque put out such great albums in the 80's and early 90's! Fatal Portrait, Abigail, Them, Conspiracy, and The Eye are all records I still play today - I never had the skill or knowledge to play anything more than rythm guitar lol🤘

I remember trying to pick songs by ear (via cassette or LP) like "Lay It Down" and "Seek and Destroy" - no tabs - no concert footage. What a challenge, but what a way to train the ear!

Cool to see that Chris has a King Diamond affiliation. When it comes to big 5 live bands In Flames and King Diamond are definitely top of the heap.

I remember being in a music store when I was younger and hearing someone playing the riff for I'll See The Light Tonight. I had not heard Yngwie before then and I had to ask him what that was. Turned out, he was an instructor there. Introduced me to some great music, got me started on lessons and taught me that very riff.
Still one of my favorite warmup riffs to this day.
I also started tuning one of my 7-strings up a half-step after reading that's what he does with In Flames, so I can play normal C-standard stuff on my 7s. Brilliant idea!

Do you like the input jacks location on the backside of the body ? I had the Black 6 string with the Floyd Rose tremelo..
I would definitely like to get another one someday..pickups sounded awesome !
@@rosskrause3926 The different kind of input jack works well if you only ever use a straight plug. Sometimes though I use a 90 deg plug for my other guitars and then it doesn't work will with the CB Soloisit. The other thing I would change is to maybe add some small sharkfin inlays. We are all not as amazing as Chris to not have to look at the fretboard :)
Every song I learned the hard way, by listening to a tape,or watching a VHS, these are the songs I still remember and can play 20 years later

I love demartini style but he constantly plays the same stuff over and over. It's a safe player and never dares to change key.

Have you checked out Steve Morse? Somewhat more blues forward but WoW, very complicated. Your mastery of various techniques is TOP NOTCH, PROPS! 🤘🤘

The crazy thing about Yngwie on things like the Light Tonight solo is that I don’t think he really used his 3rd and 4th fingers together when doing runs like that. Pretty sure he would use his 1st, 2nd & 3rd fingers instead of 1st, 3rd & 4th for the first figure.
Ratt has that nasty dirty tone like Jackson guitars. Classic! Bless the Ratt sound engineer and guitar tech.
